The re-mixed Pony Boy sounds pretty cool. It sounds like he sang it while drowing.

Okay, I've just started on Loser Anthems... the acoustic stuff is something else man.

Oh hey! Flashdance II was rerecorded. Badass.

North American For Life: I take back what I say. It's actually an interesting choice as an acoustic track, but it's not the best.

Acoustic Tripoli was somewhat of a let down... but only because I had such high expectations.

Favourite? Early favourite is Prime Time Deliverance. I had heard Apparitions and Strange Days in acoustic before, so I knew what to get. Bur Prime Time Deliverance, the way it starts, carries, and ends, is just as haunting if not more...

Okay, to sum it up...

The package is totally worth the cash. The new versions of songs like Rico and Pony Boy and Flashdance two are great to listen to and alone make the grab a good one... the acoustic stuff is golden...

But the absolute gravy of the entire package is the DVD. This DVD in and of itself is worth the entire $25 I paid for the package. Watching the videos with commentary it becomes agonizingly clear from the very first video that Matthew Good hates the vast bulk of his work, and that the oppurtunity for him to come in and verbally rip his percieved mistakes to shreads was something he relished. There are parts of the videos(playing in mute as him and one of his pals talk them over) where they just crack up laughing and spend a good half a minute with just muffled giggles and dead air. In other parts the commentary, especially for Carmelina, is a very deep commentary on the theme, how the band was during the period, and the art involved of creating it. Apparitions was the same way... great, great view for the fan or anyone interested, say, watching the Anti-Pop video and thinking "What the fuck were they doing?"... now you know.

Pick that shit up.

Oh, and Matt Good takes a small shot at Stargate during his commentary on the Strange Days video... I chuckled.

Sounds delicious.

I'll still have to wait another week or so before it's shipped out, but damn, it will be worth it.

At least you have the Internet, thus, presumingly, electricity as well? The beginnings of civilisation, from which perhaps one day New Zealand will grow into a mighty empire, and lesser nations shall quake at the mention of it's name! The Matthew Goods of the world will flock to it's boarders and all shall know that it was on the backs of great men like Chau Ming that this was achieved!

Or, I dunno, just wait 'till christmas or something.
