Peeps with almost exact specs having the same problem.

I'm not going to risk tinkering with it myself and possibly voiding the warrenty on it though. I'll call the store I ordered it from and see if they can fix it.

Oh yeah...one bit about my specs that I forgot to include that may be part of the problem:

The Harddrive is a SATA, and I know SATAs require special drivers to be installed 'before' the installation of the OS.

Yeah, if you bought it prepackaged, just take it back and get a replacement. Not worth your time to be tweaking or hunting up fixes.

Take it back. Downgrade your powersupply to about 400. Save yourself some dough. You're not running enough stuff to demand something like that.

Let me ask you this; how much 'selling' did the salesman do at the store from which you purchased this? I'm assuming it was assembled in house? Was it an off the rack deal or did you choose the hardware yourself?

Actually, disregard what I said.

Keep the uber PSU.

Just make the dudes fix it. That way, down the road, you can run dual video cards along with whatever else... you should really, for the price, consider getting dual HD at 500. RAID!

I've been doing research on parts for a few months, getting advice from a couple of knowledgeable friends in the process. Thus I already knew exactly what I wanted and the only 'selling' the sales person did was to have them build it for me.

Originally I was going to order it online, but couldn't find a reputiable place that had everything I wanted. It works out better this way though, as the store is right in town. The sucky thing though is that I have to wait until after work to contact them about the problem and no doubt take the machine to them.

I was actually originally planning on having dual Vids and HDs (with Raid) but for reasons of keeping the price down I decided not to.

Yeah, that is somethin' of a bummer. I didn't mean to talk to you like some enduser; heck, I'm a damn n00b my own self.

But yeah, best of luck. I wish I could help you right off...

So anyway, do you play CoH/CoV by chance?

If you know what you exactly what you want, why not just order the parts and assemble it yourself? It's really easy, easier than putting together your little brothers' christmas preasent.

Price out some of your stuff at newegg.com and see if you'd get it significantly cheaper.

Tho, the store might not like you asking for your money back.
