my comp has went buggy, I'm on someone elses right now, but it's not something I can do as much as on the other but it just means I won't be doing any holiday updates or anything like that...

I know it's Bonfire Night and Election day, but I can't help missing those :-p

me uninstalling some files by accident... I was uninstalling Photoshop, got distracted, and clicked Yes to All to uninstall every file the program even winked at while it was installed... :: sighs:: or at least that's the only damn thing we can think of to make the comp go nuts...

Why would you want to uninstall Photoshop...?

The only thing I can think of, besides reinstalling Windows itself, is to try the Rescue Disk, or check Microsoft.com and see if they have the files for download (obviously, you'd need to ask them which ones).

Yes to All = bad, unless you know exactly what you are deleting. But, you know that now... :)

I knew it was bad before.. but I clicked wrong thing by mistake :-\ SOOOOOOOOOOO... the Photoshop that was about 100mg to install cleared 200mg when I uninstalled it..

And I uninstalled Photoshop because I'm not used to using it yet, and don't have the time right now to learn... and we needed the space for other things.

Basically the comp is kinda screwed unless some things we found out last night help. I mean, the recovery disk isn't working either... but we've got a hit on what all those damn numbers on THAT error message means, at least...

Damalis, your computer isn't screwed.I have had the same problem but worse. You clicked *yes all* and it got rid of a program *photoshop* and some others and it cleared 200mg and now it won't work right?

And that error, i have a feeling i have come across it before, if it comes up again print screen it and paste it into this forum, i may be able to help you out.

Computer geek, anyone? :b

Anyways, I have a question for you guys. Does anyone know whether the WindowsXP upgrade for Windows98 will run straight from start up, or do you have to begin it from the already running Windows98 program?

Methinks it starts right from your bootup...

Basically your registry, and boot configuration has one or more corrupted files. How often do you run Defrag?
How many beeps do you hear when your computer tries to start up, if any at all? You may try booting with a Startup Disk.
