Well, i just spent half an hour of my life (one that i will, sadly, never get back) trolling through that Genius' who hate us thread. While Ahnks arguements that our similarities greatly outweigh our differences is entirely true, IMO that doesn't necessarily mean that those similarities can will bring us together when at least 50% of the people involved are so focused on the differences.
Making a Webring on the premises of those similarities and ignoring the serious immaturities/long held grudges is a recipe for disaster, as Dara has said. Especially considering the fact that this webring would link entirely different sets of contrasting values together. But since the TGC equation has been removed i can see absolutely nothing standing in the way of this project.
... I was sayin' the same damn thing. Where's the love. Where's the cred.
And Bane, calm down. Seriously. I'm as polite as the next guy (or not). But if you get all excited and start attaking folks without taking personal responsibility for your own actions I think you're gonna find I'm alot less polite. Leave it alone. There is no blame, but apparently there is Credit. Move on, I suggest.
Of course, Ceel has the freedom to do what he wants with his community. If you're not happy, mind you, and don't wanna see yer effort go down the tubes, you could consider investing in some of the communities that are willing to be involved.
There is enough responsibility to go around; so don't go dumping it on Seth or...
Bane, no offense, but nobody is going to deal with you if you keep saying stuff like that. It sets a bad example. I agree with Beff, just leave it alone.
I don't think discussion needs to move anywhere, personally. We already have Sithlore, Gotor, Fans, Epics, most of the major boards signed up here... moving discussion to a new board would just require the reregistration of all.
Discussion here hasn't been biased, and TRF hasn't been deleting posts or banning people. We're open to anything, so moving the discussion elsewhere seems, to me, an unesscessary gesture.
My point, Bane, (which may have been lost due to the way i wrote it) was not if there were grudges etc that would cause the problems, but rather if those grudges were unresolved (which my viewing of said thread lead me to believe) it would make the concept unworkable. Either by key figures opting out prior to the event or by ruining it during its creation.
I never suggested that they could not be fixed, rather they currently aren't. Hell, up until now you've been entirely constructive and well, not shit. And other than Mac, you've been the best representative TGC could have.
Also i never said who that 50% represented, and i can certainly tell you interpreted that being TGC. Plus when one considers that i was talking about the entire SWRPG internet, your belief that TGC makes half of the entire SWRPG internet world is either arrogent, or you simply flew off the handle based on a concieved sense of bias on our part.
Which while considering our statements in this thread up til now would be unfounded.
