..and you are right about the lack of threads angsting over anti-muslim/arabic movies. But using that logic, we all must then condone such movies. What other explanation could there be?


I just found it highly amusing, in the description of the movie, the doctor selling organs just happened to be Jewish.

Like that movie made about that Marine who married some middle eastern princess. No doubt it was a not-so-subtle hint that all middleeastern women want American men. I think they are divorced now...ha!

Iraq. Bush Sr. never beat them in '91 so dubyah decided to go raise some shit. Also, three years or so after 9/11 they were using that as a reason to attack Iraq and it will still be used in the future.

The Americans have blockaded Cuba for the past 30 years because it didn't join into the American Hegemony in the Western Hemisphere, overthrew an evil murdering dictator supported by the Americans and wanted to protect itself from invasion from the Americans.

I'm not sure who they is but I would like to point out that while I am by no means a Muslim or very familiar with the religion of Islam I am aware that Islam shares a number of basic tenents with Christianity and Judaism(all of which worship the same god) and really isn't that different from Christianity, there are just extremists as there are in any religion. Shall we all take what Pat Robertson(or whatever his name is) says and view all Christians through the same lens? Also according to a number of Christians the vast majority of the world is going to hell including every: Muslim, Bhuddist, Hindu, Jew, Atheist, various other religions along with about 50% of the christians.

It's a silly, stupid movie. People make silly, stupid movies, whether they be Turkish, American, British, German, what have you. Especially when politics start getting involved.

The thing to remember is, these are works of fiction. It isn't right, it isn't wrong. It is nothing more than someone expressing their views in a handy format. This film is no more true than a boxer taking on the evil, Soviet Empire with the help of the Mujahideen, or any of the countless movies depicting Arabs as violent, terrorist bastards.

Don't let it bother you. Anywhere there is a camera, you can find as much good as there is bad. Letting some film that happens to portray Americans as something other than "fantastic people who always do good" go to your head is just, well, stupid.

The movie I found silly. What I didn't find silly was how ridiciously popular it has become.

Um... I think the blockade might have had something to do with Cuba pointing Russian nuclear missiles at them... that and the fact that Castro is a dirty commie. :D
