Another Religious Fight with my Ex

Hmmmm, here's a solution. Nuke the fertile crescent. No more Iraq, no more Iran, no more Jerusalem. Just lots and lots of radiactive glass from the amount of nukes that should be used to wipe out every inch of the region. Mind you nuclear winter will be a pain in the ass, but hey, there's a solution for you. A bit bloody and ruthless but effective in its own twisted way.

You know it's not the religion it's self that is the problem, it's the people that use it to achieve their own ends. Al-Qaeda is based on some older men using a fake version of the Koran to inspire younger men to kill those who interfere economically or financially with their little empires and investements. People always have and always will exploit the religion to achieve their goals. Get rid of one religion, and they'll either invent another religion or adopt another religion or find some other way of gaining their means. The only true solution is to kill everyone on the planet. Except for you, a willing mate, etc.

The Muslim faith is abused, the Jewish faith is, even and espically popular American faiths are abused. Some older men use Baptist faith to get their hands on younger boys. Some politicans use Christiniaty as a rallying cry for support (espically Bush) when they probably don't even know what the heck Christianity is.

I don't really like Peter... I'm only caught up to episode five, though. He hasn't done anything yet, and the only thing he has done to this point was prompted by future!Hiro.

Who is, it happens, my favourite character on the show. I quite like Claire, too, though that scene on the autopsy table was more than a little gross. :)

Not to some silly people. Some don't seem to add together that Yahweh, Jehovah, and Allah are all the same God
Two of those three are the same, the other is not.

Claire is a fairly interesting character, but I have certian problems with the way she is written and portrayed. Jessica and... uhh Nicole maybe? I can't recall their name, but the Schizo-Super-Chick... I like her.

I'm Christian; go me.

Is this some kind of anime, Beff? I'm not sure if it sounds familiar or not...

Likewise, I too am a Christian (Lutheran). I am in complete agreement with Vos' comments as well.

Good to see I have some support on here.

I agree with Titus about Yahweh and Jehovah being the same (especially because "Jehovah" is simply an English translation of "Yahweh"). However, while the comparison between Jehovah and Allah has been made by scholars, I do not believe it is accurate. The God of the Bible exhibits compassion and mercy even in judgment; Allah does not. In the Bible, merit means nothing in terms of salvation; in the Quran it is essential. Allah is extremely exclusive in his principles of salvation, detailing out five fundamental pillars required for salvation aside from living a generally good life; the God of the Bible is inclusive, saying that belief is the only necessary component.

Finally, Kraken, I agree that the problem people have is with the misuse of religion. While I do see the Islamic religion as an originally violent religion (a study of the sayings and life of Mohammed will reveal that), the religion has tempered and become peaceful to a number of faithful Muslims. Christianity has been abused time and again (most notably during the Crusades, then by Hitler), but at its core it is a peaceful religion. The only violence that I can recall Judaism being used for is to hold onto the one plot of ground the Jews can call their own. Considering that they were there first, I don't really have a problem with that.

Vance; it's one of NBC flagship television programs. Currently way, way hot. Up there with Lost and Battlestar Galactica in terms of quality, ratings and kickassery...

And you know what? God didn't have fuck all to do with my enjoyment of those shows. So stfu and don't make me post Penn to tell you the same!

I enjoy the dynamic between her and her father, and look forward to seeing where it will go. The last episode, where she crashed Brody's car, was interesting... I was hoping he would die (he still showed NO remorse for trying to rape her!).

I was surprised to see her apologize to him - as far as I'm concerned, he deserved what he got and more.

God has much to do with Battlestar Galactica, Beff.

Embrace his love! :P
