I still haven't really read any of this, but what is it that they expect to happen with the big "protest day"?

Mainly, I assume, to get noticed.

So what is the actual protest? Just a bunch of people protesting Scientology all at the same time, or what?

Yes. People (I assume members of this group) will be demonstrating outside all the scientologist's temples.

So Kach, since you seem to be following this. What exactly is Anonymous' issue with Scientology? If people want to worship L. Ron Hubbard (or whatever Scientologists do) that's their right. So what is it about Scientologists that's pissing Anonymous off?

Anonymous, in my opinion, seems to be doing this for "lulz". I could be wrong.

Anyway, they seem to be saying scientology is bad because it doesn't support freedom of religion due to you having to pay for part of it, plus its supporting "natural" way of healing and positive thoughts rather than modern medical medicine and Anonymous claims that this has killed people. And they describe it as cultish and cults have historically been bad for America. I think they also view the fact that the CoS (Church of Scientology) manages to sue/lawsuit/issue cease and desist orders to all the people who vocally and publicly object to them as preventing free speech and Anonymous claims that Anonymous is founded around the ideas of absolute free speech. Or that was my understanding, though I'll repeat my comment about not being convinced they actually believe/care about this and more are doing it for laughs/to get attention for attention's sake.

It's not a protest against the religion of scientology. It's a protest of the corporate entity of the 'church' and its' treatment of both its' members and those who have spoken out against it.

Anonymous doesn't care about if scientologists choose to believe that they're inhabited by space spirits; everyone is free to believe what they want. What they [Anonymous] care about are the violations of human rights that have been committed by the scienos.

As for doing it for their own pleasure, Anonymous has kind of evolved into two groups; the script kiddies who started this whole thing, and those who have taken to peaceful protests and voicing their disgust through more public and legal ways. Thankfully the latter has far outgrown the former.

Zell, as I said before, look up Operation Snow White, Operation Freakout, and the Fair Game policy.

Ironice that a religion called Scientology doesn't believe in modern medicine.
