I realize I went a bit far in my first impact post, but I expect an AIM discussion and an Edit. There was none, and I now disagree with his posts. Each of those missles are the size of small frieghters, with shields equivalent. Not to mention Ablative armor and a hull designed to take damage, repair as much as possible and keep going.
I refuse to accept that your small unprepared defense fleet could suddenly spring into action to defend against missles that began right on top of you, traveling full speed, and were already heading away from your position when you got the chance to react.
Lastly, The Teth attack. Harkers Teth attack. Teth is listed as having Normal shield Generators, not crystals. As this is the only case of a listed defense system on Teth, I want reasons why it would have your highly specialized and powerful shield on it.
I admit, my answer was a little extreme, but I figured you've fired a lot of missiles at a lot of places, so you might hit one somewhere else instead.
Mainly, I thought it was cooler than just having the four missiles hit the shield of faith, which they would of - a little dramatic tension over wether Yakabe would shoot down the last missile before it crashed anyways.
To be honest, after it was made and used once or twice, I just sort of assumed the technology got around the Coalition. Admittedly, it's not exactly conventional, but then neither are the Azguards -the Azguards have scattered themselves about the Coalition, as well as forming their forces at home, so I kind of guessed we'd bring our tech with us.
I mean, what else have we got, defensive tech wise? The shield seems to be it, so if it's all we've got beyond conventional lasers and shields, why not bring it as a sign of our passing? It fits with the Coalition's desire to proffes tighter ties with the Force, as well as giving us a distinct look and poweful technology.
I admit, it wouldn't be universal. I doubt there'd be such a shield system on Hoth, and even populated planets like Tammar might not have one. But larger planets with important population centers like Teth, Azguard, or Mon Calamari would surely sport this piece of valuable technology. Places of vital economic import such as Tynna or Bimmisari might have one. The resources used aren't the ones usually associated with defences (jewels and bohemian force users, for example.) but they're not unreasonable.
I'm probably going to regret butting in here...but isn't what you just did Heir classified as godmodding? From your first post in this thread you seem to have admitted as such, and, at least between myself and my bro, if there's any question of whether we have gone to far we ask each other 'before' posting the debatable reply.
But I am not you...and I am not Dolash...and what do I know of fleeting when I am not even in a group yet? I just thought I'd put my two cents in going by my own experiences....
If that were so, why wasnt it unveiled in the previous thread when an entire fleet was present and attacking, and just now, in the nick of time, against the only thing you know it would stop.
Salaska -
Meaning, I expected peaceable discusion on it over AIM, and to have edited after. Dont call me a god modder.
I'm not actually calling you a godmodder, as you already admitted you may have over did it and wanted to discuss it. I question your decision to go ahead and post the reply anyway knowing it could be a topic of contraversy without resolving the problem before hand.
You do not purposefully go overboard with full expectation of the opponent having a problem with it. You do not post with expectation to be editing things out later. That is called being cheap. That is called trying to appear generous. "See, I edited this out without a problem, why can't you do that too???"
If you purposefully went overboard in your post then Dolash can do as such in his. To think otherwise would be ridiculous.
