Jan next in line for Mod-ship? HA!!! I'm too lazy. And don't post. And have had more OOC fights than Corise, many of which were far longer than Corise's fights and usually which had more swears and screams of "staff biased". Also the only coalition members who are allowed to become mods are those who started playing after me. I've been on TRF too long to be a new mod.

The only time the word "moderator" has been applied to one who can issue executive issues in regards to In Character or Role-Play issues is when attached to the notation "R&D".

Telan, for one who has been here so long and has a "less-mired" reputation, I'd expect you'd have a first hand understanding of the obligations of a moderator. In the modern parlance, at least, and not keeping with the once Staff-Approved opinionated assholeing.

The powers granted with the moderator title allow one to affect only the physical substance of threads, such as cleaning up spam, updating the planets list (which Corise has already been doing since no one else wanted to offer, yes... offer) and other such responsibilities.

You want a cookie Telan? Fine.

Hey everyone, Telan has a huge TRF e-peen and you all have to respect his opinions more now!

Happy?

And Jan... giving you moderator priviliages would be like giving the same to Irtar; like pissing in to the wind.

Wes, I approve of your back-handed approach to sabotaging Corise as moderator via Private Message. I promise not to out you.

Beff, I wasn't trying to sabotage Corise as a mod. I was pointing out a concern that I had (and one that has been expressed by several people, not just myself), and trying to do it in a way that was not offensive, didn't cause a big OOC stink, and didn't make Corise think that I was trying to sabotage him (which I wasn't). Hence why I said in the PM: "This is my concern, but I will abide by whatever decision you make." Sorry for trying to do the right thing.

So... congrats then, hm? Seems like the appropriate time to close an announcement thread...
