The Coalition: Act 2

As I've said to some of you, I am planning a sort of 'second stage' to the Coalition followin Hard Truths and some other threads. Ever since the end of the war, the Coalition's really been building up from close to scratch to reach the same level with the galactic superpower of TNO. Though we have but half the territory, and thus probably only half the people, the caliber of our armies, leaders, economy, and so forth has been significantly improved to be roughly on par (or close to) individually with that of the Empire. This has taken well over a year (I think close to two now) and has involved a great deal of roleplays from Coalition roleplayers, but now that a fair porition has been done I believe we have set a solid foundation upon which to base the Coalition as a whole.

What this means, is that the time has come for the Coalition to back up it's beliefs with action. Now that we possess enough strength to make a respectable go at it, and now that the old Coalition/Empire rivalry is warming up again, expect a lot of threads in the future to focus more on striking back, being on the offensive, being the ones to instigate events. Not necessarily war (although fighting might well occur) but definetly a marked increase in challenges towards the dominant powers of the galaxy.

To give a rough outline of plans for the near future, allow me to shortly summarize what has yet to be done:

-Roche will have to be concluded, which may well take a long time yet. It's currently Milkshake's turn, but I haven't heard from him for the last couple of days so it might be a bit until he's ready to proceed.

-Business It was my intent to build up the Coalition's economy more before this time, but it's been a while and someone (read: Vinda) hasn't been replying to a certain thread. Still, can't be helped. If it could proceed soon, that'd be kick-ass, if not, I'll have to make do with what I've got.

-Hard Truths This thread is basically the Prologue to Act two, which will in fact be written through a series of connected and related stories. This needs to be done, obviously, but I've been stalling a little in the hopes of finishing these other issues before it's done.

-The Address The "State of the Coalition" Address, where Regrad gives a grand speech to all the galaxy, will basically be the beginning of a new era for the Coalition, new purpose and direction. The actual details will be laid down the in speech, but it is the turning point for Regrad personally and the commitment necessary to succeed.

-Visionary Series-

The Visionary series will follow Regrad's speech, and will have two kinds of threads. Basically, any thread that involves the Coalition acting out against other powers and towards the purpose outlined in the address will fall under this heading, but every so often a major thread will occur where Regrad himself will hunt down the clues to a Force Prophecy given to him in Hard Truths. Some of these prophecies may be completed just by me, others could well require the writing efforts of the Coalition's other members or allies, and some may well become open conflicts between the Coalition and other factions. When all the Prophecies are completed, it will lead to an endgame of threads, wherupon the fate of Regrad, the Azguards, the Coalition - and indeed, perhaps the galaxy - will be decided. All of these events are appropriately shrouded in mystery, but some of the threads of the near future will be listed to give a bit of an idea of what I'm talking about:

-Visionary: Firm Foundations The kickoff thread of the Visionary series, it will involve a grand council of the Coalition where all of it's leaders, heroes, and allies are invited to convene in the ruins of a recently discovered temple on Ilum. There, they will discuss in private the ramnifications of Regrad's speech and agree towards purposes and the like. Personal agendas will mix and flow towards a common goal.

-Visionary: Remember the Past Here, a New Coalition Warfleet headed by Regrad will return to Kiyar to determine what happened to the hapless inhabitants, and try to destroy the aliens who have taken hold. Here, Regrad could also find a clue leading to one of the prophecies.

-Visionary: Voluntary Obligation Regrad confirms a dangerous and deadly mission to infiltrate the Empire and steal New Order clearance, in the hopes of finding out what's going on at the top levels of the Imperial High Command. Should the mission succeed, however, he might possibly discover a plot more terrible then anything he could ever have imagined. A plot with Axioms in it (hint hint).

Just a taste of some of the stuff planned! For those in the Coalition, I'd be more then glad to talk to you over AOL Instant Messanger (Dolash02) to discuss roles you could play, if you want to suggest your own course of action, or any questions you might have (obviously the Coalition War Room will get more indepth details of these plans, for now). If you don't have AIM, then PM me, or even post in the War Room if you have a plan you'd like to share.

Any questions or comments?

I'd also like to say that participation by others, additions, or heck straight-out disruption is welcome. If Regrad is closing in on some part of the Prophecy, perhaps a Sith might decide that he wants to deny the Lightside whatever it is they're hunting, or the Empire will choose to cut short his expedition with lethal intent. In theory, if an effective campaign were waged against me, the story might never progress in the direction I have planned.

I feel it's important to underline that point in that this will be somewhat like the various serieses of TRF which had a solid and predetermined plot (like Conquest-of-Capricia) and somewhat like the open wars and planet-squabbling we engage in (like the War). It will have plot and direction, but it can also be redirected or even forced off the rails. Just something to keep in mind.

Yes, I'm sorry about my not-postingness. School and a huge overload of "gigs" have limited my free time. I'll post some time this week. Sorry.

I am IC a mortal enemy of the Coalition and IRL a virulent opponent of democracy in almost all forms. But I am not above commending Dolash publicly for the hard work he has placed into restructuring and rebuilding a broken and battered IC concept. Though I wish his ultimate destruction and horrific defeat, I can OOC salute him as a worthy adversary.

LOL Telan.

What gets me the most is the fact that you're serious when you talk like that.

I hope you are only referring to the first part - that was the only mildly contentious thing I said. The rest was praise to Dolash - I did not write this to start an argument. Do I believe in what I said as in anti-democracy - of course.

I think he thought it was funny how you praise him, then wish for his ultimate demise and destruction. And, unlike if Ahnk or Ren did it, you were serious.

I don't think anyone took it as an attempt to start a fight.

No - the part about wishing him destruction was just in good-fun, a type of ribbing if you will - hence my inster tynna-esque rummblings crack. It was meant to be a lighter-side thing. If this cannot be taken to be funny by me but others can, then I will refrain from doing so if my reputation is so tainted.
