Some questions...

I'm still not sure what group I should be in (leaning towards BDE because I've chatted with them in IMs), or if I should be in a group at all, since it looks like only the higher tiered members of groups, who go and take over lots of planets and control them, is how to get recognition.

But I don't want to do that.

My question is, can I use the current Imperial faction (The New Order) as part of my background? I know bios aren't really required but I rely heavily on my character's background to post and it's always been an Imperial one; Sam grew up in an Imperial household, went to an Imperial academy for higher learning, and left at age 18 or so. On bad terms. Would someone be willing to assist in this?

Another question: Is the current Imperial way of life the same as back in the day (i.e. xenophobic and sexist) or did it change?

And if I wanted to just be factionless... could I? Or would I have to worry about each faction stopping me at the border? And risk getting godmoded on and thrown in some jail to rot?

To answer your last question, you can easily be factionless. Hell, look at me. I made showcase! (You guys aren't going to stop hearing about that for at least a year) Of course, I have been confined to a backwards planet for the time I have been factionless.

There's nothing against being factionless, half of my characters are factionless.

Contact TNO direct about the details of Imperial life (Simon will probably post here), but I doubt they would, or even could, forbid you from using the Empire as your background.

Depends on what kind of recognition you want. Fame? IM me, and I'll let you in on a story that will get all participating a lot of recognition, as well as some pretty hefty bounties.
OOC fame? That's obtained via writing good stories. Not something you appear to have a problem doing.

And I'm serious about you IM'ing me. Amishforfight is my public name, though I do sign on more often with a private SN.

You can have the Imperial background (I am assuming it's [almost] the same as the one you have on Tales). As for your question regarding the Empire, the best I can say is "yes and no". But, that isn't really helpful, just go with "yes". Catch me on AIM or email me, CapriciaPrime@aol.com, if you would like specifics.

You can be factionless if you prefer. If you wanted to roleplay with anyone in particular, just let them know and I am sure they'd be happy to oblige.

You are welcome to roleplay within the Empire should you want. There have been newbies that have started out on Coruscant. We do not feel the need to interfere with roleplays taking place on our worlds unless they directly (in fleet action) challenge us or request our presence.

Yay for responses. :]

Kas I think you mean Amishforkfight, which I have already added to my list. And I am not interested in recognition really. I just want to write good posts.

Simon, yes, I am trying to keep a similar bio to my Tales one.

I'm still open to roleplays if you wish to write with us, if you decide to go factionless.

Although I doubt the possibility of you wanting to write with me, should you want to I'd be happy to do so.
