Hi, I've run a search on sig, signature and avatar but can't find any rules. I'm guessing that we dont have image signatures (I've not seen any), but we do have avatars.
Here is something I would like to use
But I'm not sure if this is allowed or not or what the proper dimensions are? Can somone point me in the right direction.
Cheers

There are no rules against the use of image-based signatures. Several of our members do have them, but they aren't quite as commonplace as on certain other forums.
As for avatars, the maximum dimensions are 150 x 150 pixels together with a filesize of 19.5kb or less. A slightly smaller version of either of the latter two you posted should suffice. :)

With an avatar, you have limitations; refer above, heh.
Also, you can have a sig, and while there aren't set guidelines for size limitations, just assume that there is a width limit of about 400-500 pixels - we don't want the board warping, after all.
Questions are good; ask more if needed.

Following on from what Vance said, although there may be no set rules defining the maximum filesize for signature images, it's usually a good idea to limit them around 30-35kb, so as to not interfere with page loading times, etc.

I think the site is set to not show sigs if you use the quick reply. I think many actually have them, but they just don't show up for this reason.

There are some image-based sigs around... they've kind of gone out of style, though. Rather like the HTML table sigs that came before them. *shudder*
Now we prefer witty phrases and quotes that stroke our egos.

hmm the board is only letting me use quick reply, or I'd show my sig... hoping to get a new one soon though :-D

I think sigs show up once per page, or some such... probably some kind of space saver type deal build into the server.
