Kolto still exsists. However, bacta is the pre-dominant medical material simple because its better... higher quality, faster healing rate etc.

But if thats not going to fly, I can alter my plans.

Actually, I would more support Rico's interpretation over not having it just because the EU doesn't make mention of it. There is a reason why it doesn't. Just like the EU doesn't make mention of a lot of stuff that will probably enter the SW universe later on this year, next year and so on...

Well obviously there's a logical real life explanation for it. But we have to have some way of explaining why things are this way from a storyline POV... what that explanation is doesn't matter so much, as long as it makes sense. I thouhgt it simply "running out" was logical... though I admit I have no idea what the substance is and if it's even something that COULD "run out".

But I agree entirely that saying "Uhh... never existed. Sorry." isn't an option.
