I see there are some which are concerned about its' capabilities. I don't see what makes it so dangerous, really. These huge interdiction devices were designed with Wildspace in mind. If we tried to use them outside of wildspace we'd encounter unforseen factors like increased dust-particles, more heat from closer clusters of stars, and completely different gravitational makeup then that which they had been designed to withstand.
Also, they are painfully weak. Delicate devices with complex machinery, A single laser bolt could damage the entire system, and a single missile might tear it apart.
Lastly, although the Interdiction field is huge and constantly on, a little intelligence, cunning, or planning could pierce it. Capturing a Coalition Command Vessel that came from Azguard would probably yield the codes used to open the field for incoming ships. Lurking near the edge of the field in a Cloaked vessel and then following any fleet making its' way back in would allow ships through the field, where they could hunt down and destroy the Watchers. Alternate Super-Fast Devices could be used to pass through as if the Watchers weren't there (However you'd still be spotted by the scans).
As you see, its' quite easy to circumnavigate. Think of it as the Maginot Line from World War Two - Impressive, unless you just go round.
