It should be noted that Gue was also an R&D mod, so in a topic of discussion on R&D's, his opinion does hold weight.

In my opinion, anyway. How much my weight my opinion holds is a different debate.

Heir Raktus
Yes, becuase my opinion should be measured by my last level of activity... If Gash posted that you'd sleep by his freshly laid shit to keep warm, and unquestionably follow his opinion, no matter how long ago he posted last. Don't come about to insult my opinion just becuase you hold me in about as much esteem as Kraken himself.
How long did you spend searching Gash's old posts (saved to your harddrive, no doubt) to find that one? :D ;)

While the R&D system we had was workable given the rules, I think under this system it is entirely unneccessary. We are to tell stories, primarily, and R&Ds are only (as Omnae put it) "window dressings".

We must rely on the roleplayers to play fairily, and in the spirit of the game. That's what our entire rule structure, such as it is, is based on. And your proposal, Heir, while good in principle, is simply not right for TRF as we stand.

Beff: fuck that duck. :D

I think the argument then, is primarily how we each view TRF. You say we tell stories, and granted we do, but on the greater whole I dont think thats true. I believe, for the most part, we compete with one another through the roleplay we do as factions in the galaxy. They might be stories, yes, but they depict R&D in a completely different light than that of Omnae's view. In one view R&D's are just a light that makes the picture look more vivid, in the other the R&D is the paint and the brush that makes the picture what it is.
