Okay, listen up guys: The TRF history project

Definitely a good idea. It would encourage me to actually finish a few threads that I have started.

I know I'm not a TRF oldie, but such a project is well worth undertaking, even if TRF doesn't die for a century, since it can always be used as a reference for new members (if we ever get any more). And if it does die, it would be nice to remember.

One place to start might be the Showcase threads, especially if you want to chronicle things like a history book, or archive threads.

Here's what TGC has...

The Historical Archive- http://thegungancouncil.yuku.com/topic/364
That's basically the history of TGC; staff members, old rules, former Most Wanted results etc, plus a little bit about SWRPG in general.

The Hall of Fame- http://thegungancouncil.yuku.com/topic/365
That's a list of all the most famous and infamous characters, factions and roleplayers. Some of you guys are in it I believe.

This sounds like a good idea. As Wes says, it will have a lot of use as a reference for new members.

I second the idea of starting with the Showcase threads - perhaps ask some of the authors (if they're still around) for any thoughts they would like to add or comments they would like to make on what they were thinking of when they wrote it. In fact, while we're looking at Showcase threads, why not go for some of the Biography threads? There's some cracking reads there.

Also: We have a wiki, don't we? If the project were to get underway on there then it would quite easy for people to contribute. Once the community judges it to be complete (or forgets about it, whichever comes first) then it should be fairly easy to turn into a standard web page.

Still working on a few things related to this. Still trying to open up a forum or some other public meeting ground. Still accepting ideas, reccomendations or contributions.

Just a heads up.

Anything you can provide about history, threads, characters - anything you can think of, even a self-profile or biography, would help a ton. Don't just PM me, though, there's a subforum dedicated to the project under Biographies. Post whatever you wish!

Wow, a lot to do then!

Actually it was good fun sifting through that hall of fame at TGC with the old threads and factions, I found it a little sad VC wasn't remembered, but not just for the obvious reasons-(it being my board, lol).

Us neutrals always get forgotten.

*sigh* nevermind, lol

Anyway, back to the task in hand...

I'll contribute what I can to it Dolash me 'ol mucker, but to be honest, I'm not sure where to start, lol...
