Sphere of Influence past actions:
<A href="http://therebelfaction.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4602">Defending known enemy held worlds inside that Sphere</a>

The BDE Sphere of Influence isn't some piece of bullshit we throw around OOC to keep people from worlds in our area of space. It's a roleplay device we created and used to issue not only our domain over NPC's in an unseen sense, but as well as a galactic claims sense. This SoI has been defended and referenced to in the past as well (I believe Jihad also contains a reference or two against it). As such, your attacks against it are as much bullshit as your objections to our actions.

True, TNO does not go interfere in every planetary takeover in the galaxy, neither does BDE. This is our first time to have done so. Given the fact we have had ample plot background to have been able to, all affore mentioned reasons, I see no problem with our actions as they stand. The RP could have covered a little back history of the events leading up to the deligation and fleets arrival, Ill grant you that much, but its not as if the lack of it makes much a difference in any respect.

I made a suggestion already in another thread, which I am sure it will be reviewed.

Gue, Grevious, all we are saying is Teth shouldn't even BE in your sphere of influence. It is closer to our worlds than it is to yours.

And we are annoyed that you used OOC knowledge in an IC situation. That is bordering on godmoding...

I would like to reiterate we do not wish to start any fights, and we want to be civil... but we wish our concerns to be addressed by the staff before we proceed in the thread.

Understood.

I've also raised the issue with the rest of the staff, and we are looking into it.

(as Ahnk stated before).

Jan, the "sphere of influence" idea is far from bullshit. You're quite wrong in your appraisal of TNO: we directly control some 92 worlds, I believe. But we hold hundreds, if not thousands, more as "protecorates".

I'll give you a real life example: in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, the United States was made up of a few states. But through their military and econimic power, they held dozens of independent nations - mostly islands in the Caribbean and Latin American countries - as protecotrates. The Eurpoean powers were forbidden (by America) to interfere in their affairs. They were America's responsibility. They weren't members of the Union, but they were largely controlled by America - dependent upon the USA financially. This is where the term "banana republic" comes from, btw.

The situation is exactly the same with TNO and BDE. We have worlds, those in the planet list, that are members of the Empire. And we have worlds that we don't directly control but are under our influence. Examples include the Corellian Sector and Empress Teta System, where we might only hold a couple of worlds OOC, but our influence extends to all the others.

For reference, TNO's sphere of influence covers most of the planets along our major trade routes and inside systems where we control planets.

I can't comment on whether BDE's "sphere of influence" applies to this situation, but dissmissing the entire notion aas bullshit is ludicrous.

In future, please do not fein to speak for TNO.

Well, that issue seems to be moving elsewhere, but the other people I need to speak to about other issues I still need to speak to.
