Got to jump through some hoops before I can officially become a knight. But any lightside force-user is always welcome to drop by the Almas Academy for training, supplies, a safe haven, etc.
Its amazing the reaction a new member gets when they ask who's hiring, heh
Don't be fooled or put off by factions whose boards seem quiet, don't forget many factions prefer to keep their plans hidden from public viewing, there are many hidden forums on TRF which are quite active, but you'll only know this if you're a vetted member of some factions. ;)
I would recommend joining any of the factions whose leaders have posted here, all are good active writers who could probably do with a boost a new member gives a group.
I am kinda semi-retired myself, but looking to get back into writing, I'm head of Vinda-Corp, and co-owner of another faction, The Commonwealth.
We are very much neutral, and always looking for eager beavers
If you'd like to know more, feel free to pop by our boards, PM or chat with Om, Wilkar, even Zarko.
If you'd like to jump onboard any RP's we have going on be sure to let us know, also, if you'd like to get a new RP going, we're up for that also.
I'd advise you to look around, and get a feel of each faction, see what they can offer you. Any questions , you're already in the right place to ask them.
From what i have read of your character, Lil, I believe she would be well suited to the Vinda Corp, or Commonwealth. I myself am partial to both the Empire or Alliance, but I can't really see your character as a naval officer or starfighter pilot (maybe you can) Also, remember that being a freelancer isn't as bad as it sounds. You could become a privateer and get letters of marque from the Empire or some one else. After you making loads of cash you could join a faction perhaps. Its all up to you though. Good luck
Yeah, freelance is awesome, Lil - that's why I chose to make my first character a mercenary. My Legionnaires have the freedom to work for whoever they want until I decide that they should hook up with a faction full-time. I agree with Tycho; don't think you have to join up with a faction if your character is better suited for freelance.
