In this thread there is an attempt to creat a generic off shot of the Aing-ti monks.
Calling themsevles the Shara-ti Monks.
This is creating a new force group from an off shoot of another canon group an attempt that could potentially screw up any Rp continuties becuase of the fact that the new off shoot did not exist before yet should have an recorded history with said group yet there is none to work from.
I would like to know if this is legal or not.
Considering I have had enough trouble using just canon force groups without creating an entire new off shoot with no canon backround.
I have avoided doing such things becuase it makes it difficult to resolve the lack of history of such groups. And the lack of previous encounters or knowledge of the group by the group that they off shoot from. Making such things difficult to maintain and justify.
Not to mention the lack of canon ships and techs from new said groups. Creating new groups with new technologies is like making entirely new techs while avoiding the R&D forum.
If this is indeed legal I would like to know becuase it then opens up whole new avenues for my Rping.
Additionally there is some canon information that this RP is leaving out in respect to Exocron namely the Air fleet and the government situation on the planet.
"Airfleet
this was the name of Exocron's primary atmospheric defense force. The Airfleet employed heavily-modified airspeeders known as Skylarks to protect the huge Sky-Dreadnaughts which anchored its fleet. When the pirates and criminals of the Kathol Outback began invading Exocron airspace, it was decided that the force should be expanded to patrol the immediate space near Exocron. At this time, the Airfleet grew into the Exocron Combined Air-Space Fleet. (KO, VOF)"
"Exocron
this world is the primary planet in the Exocron System, located in the Kathol Outback and hidden within a gas cloud. Much of the population of the Outback is unaware of the existence of Exocron, since it is located within a nebula of gases that interfere with most sensor systems. Most star maps of the Outback fail to show Exocron, which is just as well for the planet's inhabitants. The planet was originally settled by colonists of the Cabal, who fled the hypocrisy and "plastic society" of the Core Worlds during the early time of the Old Republic to find the world of Exo. Their ship, the Exocros Cabal, was damaged in an asteroid storm, and wandered the galaxy until it found Exocron. The planet was named for their ship, and the colonists destroyed their ship and set up a guardian force to keep it safe for future use. In the meantime, the majority of the colonists began living off the land and keeping to themselves. The guardians became known as the Devisors, and became the upper of two social castes. Any new technology had to be approved by the Devisors before it could be made available for general use. The splitting of the social structure was not easy, though, and many small battles erupted between factions who wanted more control or more freedom. A series of unification wars swept the planet in the years just prior to the Battle of Yavin, re-establishing the position of the Devisors. Jorj Car'das retired to Exocron after running into the Aing-Tii monks. "
