I would like to say.

First and foremost, I am an Englishman.

Briton second.

I saw a couple of the Sharpe movies. Quite impressive, I should say, considering. Some pretty big story changes, but I think they compressed the entire novel into a half hour, so they did a damn fine job in that regard.

The books are very good, though. I read all of them up to Sharpe's Waterloo, way back in the day... and I still have my autographed copy of Sharpe's Tiger (somewhere).

So why do you consider yourself an Englishman first, Seth?

Just wondering, because in the US, most people consider themselves Americans first, and (insert state here)ians/ans second.

Of course, thats partially because everyone else hates us, and we fought a civil war about which one was more important. But still, I am interested.

You tell 'em seth.

Just on a semi-off topic note to those in america who are of the more insular pursuasion (an insular american? God forbid!:p ), contrary to popular belief on the other side of the sea, Britain is not just another name for England.

FACT: Britain is made up four countries. YES! Britain consists of Scotland, England, Wales and northern Ireland. You may find it hard to believe, and your geography teacher and Fox news may tell you otherwise but we're not all English over here.
