First, I'd suggest checking out the Visitor's Center. From there, you might want to join a faction. Freelance RP isn't forbidden, but joining a faction might help you in getting hang of the RP a bit faster, and it'll provide you with some good RPing opprotunities.

If you have anymore questions, please ask the staff.

Of course, the actual choice is up to you.

Welcome to TRF, my friend. As was already pointed out, go to the Visitors Center and learn the ropes, read the rules and so forth. Then you can choose from many of TRF's factions linked at the bottom of the page.
