Punch in Agamar, what do you find? Two threads of Korise's that mention it in the context you are describing, your latest takeover, a thread of Simon's that I believe is acroptical, this thread where you originally named Agamar (along with three other planets I was actively taking over) as a target. That was when I sent you the PM and told you that if you left Agamar alone then you could have the other two, as I only had about four thousand words. But I finished the takeover, which is there as the next result down.
The beautiful thing about TRF's search feature is that not only does it find the threads, but once you open them, the searched words are turned red so you can easily browse to and find them, picking out the context they are used in for ease of brain. Let there be no doubt that Agamar was taken; it's there, in the thread, in red and white.
Furthermore, doing a detailed, exhaustive search on a planet is never a bad idea. Even if it's currently unowned, and hasn't been involved in a battle for a while, finding out it's past place in TRF canon can only serve to enhance the reality, depth, and appreciation for your story; if people see you working to enhance and shape the TRF canon rather then ignore and rewrite it, it will make you look like a better writer. Not to toot my own horn, but I included (my biased) account of the history of Geonosis in my takeover to give the world a background and pay homage to the former owners, and Simon does it constantly. And if you don't think following Simon is a good idea, you're still a newbie at TRF.
I was just making the suggestion because apparently common sense isn't doing great for us (also variations on spellings make some searches confusing). If we had a "Current Planetary Takeovers List" or something like that in the OOC forum, that could help get rid of the confusion. Yes doing a search is good for all the reasons mentioned above, and yes common sense is good, but apparently it isn't working out completely.
I also realize that such a list would just give the staff more work to do, but I'd be willing to be the one editing it and keeping it up to date if the staff so desired and if other people see that it could help cut down confusion (I think). If no one else sees where I'm coming from, then we'll all just keep up the searches and hopefully this issue won't arise again.
I love you Jan, but no. No freakin' way. Common sense works just fine. And I'm not going to explain why because that's just silly. See: TNO - re: Planetary Take-Overs, Current. No.
