So, I have this composing/arranging program named Finale 2003. And well, in boredom, I composed a theme for the Black Dragon Empire. It's not quite done, but here is the first part in zip form. More or less, I need to add a melody and take out the first Trumpet fanfare found in there. But yeah.... try to enjoy?

Oh, and the bass line/percussion continues on for a while ... so if nothing else occurs after about 10 seconds, its over.

Actually, I'm listening to the midi version now, and the bass/percussion line sounds like crap. So I am going to see if there is a away around this. And now I am at the bells line ... and its too loud. I found the problem. And I slowed the tempo five clicks.

...I must agree, it needs a more focused sound, more evil. I'm no music critic, but this just doesn't have that forboding sound of the Imperial March.

dun-dun-dun don Dun-Duuun don Dun-Duuun. Y'know? Still, not bad. Just needs a little more evilness.

Eh. I need to add a melodies and counter-melodies for the most part yet, so just wait.

My theme could kick your theme's ass.

Eh. Writing a song with 25 instruments and then some is rather hard. Like, I'm writing a brass quintet peice, and its coming along so nicely.

Isstal didn't write his theme though, he just pulled it off of a LOTR CD. Unless he's been busy while gone...

I am composing mine from scratch, while trying not to copy anyone else. And its more of a fanfare, than a theme. It be a march, but march's are some of the most complicated music around.
