Hello,
I was talking to Irtir/DCJamesF on AIM and he offered to help me with my character...So, I told him of an idea that I had for one. He said part of it could be twisted into the RP as a whole, so that everyone would be able to take part in it. The basic ideas are:

-There's a city on the surface of Coruscant that used to be a Jedi city that the Jedi hid out in. A long time ago (I'd have to figure out the exact timeline for when this first part of it happened), there was a Jedi queen/leaderish person who was the person who established the city, but something happened that made people just...leave the city.

-My character is the descendent of the queen/leader and she was adopted by a Jedi Master and taken to the city...And she may have possibly received some training...She has to fulfill this prophecy as the only living descendent of the leader and she'll become the queen of the city and reestablish it...

-I was thinking that there's some artifact that was guarded in the city and there was a small group of certain Jedi that were the Guardians of the artifact (when the city was first established/still around)...

-I was thinking of having my character eventually reestablish the guardians...But my idea was to have her come from the city after her master dies or something and seek the Jedi out so she can...Complete her training as a promise to her master. Perhaps she keeps having these visions of something that happened in the city long ago, and she wants to find out what they mean...At first she'd be very mysterious and not tell anyone where she was from or what her real name was...And Irtar and I are thinking of having a mini plot for our characters with them falling in love.

Those are the basic ideas. I'd have to think more about the prophecy and whatever the artifact is...And obviously there'd be some some sort of bad guy involved...What good is a queen without some bad guy wanting her to turn to the dark side and marry him, right? :P Anyway...those are the main ideas. If this idea is approved, any ideas for the prophecy and bad guys and artifact and all that would be appreciated...If for whatever reason it isn't approved, I can easily steer away from the city and all that..Or at least not have it involved as much.

Please let me know what you think as son as possible so I know if I have to make any modifications to the character and her storyline.

Thank you,

~Skywalker Dreamer

That could actually tie into to a little thing OS, Vodo, and I are supposed to be doing. Kind of. Sort of. Maybe. Not really. Well, at least we're on corusant... thats about it.

Its a little weird for there to be or to have been a city on Coruscant that nobody knows/knew about.. The sith have that place under pretty tight lock.

And you're still using weird fonts!

Wow.. a very interesting story.

A question: How would you describe this city?

I ask this because Coruscant is a city-planet. If there is open land, it is very very small as 99% of the surface is covered my many levels of a steel shell and skyward towers.

The biggest problem is that Coruscant has undergone many a war and takeover in our timeline, and with the Empire currently holding it, and having held it for quite some time, the feasibility of having a hidden Jedi city still hidden would be quite small...

Well, take this into consideration:

1) It doesn't HAVE to be Coruscant.
2) The Jedi could have placed a protective field around the city to keep the Sith from finding it. All records of it have been destroyed/hidden/are in the memories of anyone who was around when the city was still going, or at least when there were more people there.
3) I got this idea off of a plot bunny at theforce.net, and that's the place the plotbunny said the city was. In...one of the books, I believe Jaina and Jacen get lost in this city...at least the books version of it...When they are young. It's been a long time since I read that book.

So, it could still work.

By the way, I think the font only looks weird to you because I changed the skin to..duel or whatever....Unless you mean the comic sans font. :p

As I told Milkshake, I got this idea based off of a plot bunny at theforce.net, so I really don't know how I'd describe it. The plot bunny says it's on the surface...Which, I believe is either under ground just barely, or...above ground. So it could still be under ground. As for the description...I'd say that it's more like different tunnels...They'd go deep enough, obviously, for things to be built and everything...maybe not buildings, but possibly a building as a whole...Otherwise I really don't have any ideas for that. It'd be up to the people who come up with the final storyline for it, I guess...

As I said, it doesn't have to be Coruscant; it doesn't have to be underground. It could easily be on some deserted planet and above ground, but the mystery of the idea isn't entirely there if it's aboveground.
There's a book I have that's actually...a series with three stories in one book of the three books...And one...Has something to do with a lost city and this boy named Ken who's a...Jedi Prince of some sort. I can't remember the storyline or anything exactly. So, the city idea could still work...I don't remember how the book said they were able to keep the city hidden, if at all.

Wherever it is, the Sith could find out that the city -does- exist, and that..whatever the artifact is is being kept there and that there's only one person who knows where it is, and that would bring Mystery in (that's the name of my character...or at least a nickname) and would create some interesting sub-plots.

These are all ideas I'm just throwing out. If people (especially admin) want to discuss this more and you guys have AOL IM, IM me on JedioftheFlame and we could make a chat room to discuss this in. If this idea is approved, I'll use any ideas we come up with to write up a final proposition of the storyline and will post it as soon as it's written up.

I do need some help on a couple ideas:

1) What the artifact is- what it does, why it's so powerful, why the Sith would want it.
2) What the prophecy having to do with Mystery would be.

I believe that's all. Please either IM me or reply with any ideas you have...If this storyline isn't approved for whatever reason, I'd be interested in making a message board to use the storyline on, as long as people planned on joining and actually posting. I emphasize this last part because I have a message board of my own that I am trying to get members to be active on. There's...Twelve members, excluding myself, and it's like pulling teeth to get them to post.

Anyway...Please let me know what you think.

Just an FYI, there is no need for you to get a storyline approved on TRF, unless it's really waaaaayyy out there. If you changed your planet to one not owned by any group, you could just go ahead with the story at your own leasure without any sort of permission.

The idea has merit and I do not mind approving it. We only had concerns with it being on Coruscant. I was not aware of this book that had a city hidden from the Empire during it's tenure on the planet. If it was accomplished, that's fine.

If you ever get the name of the book, I'd be interested in reading it.

Personally, I would liken it to a small city of Jews living in Nazi Germany during WWII. Possible, I suppose but there's no long term future in it but that's just my personal opinion.

Go ahead and roleplay it on Coruscant if you like. It's not like everything is mapped out in the under-levels or anything.

I was just surprised I didn't read anything about this hidden city in the NJO series when YV took it over. I would have thought that'd be something important.

Anyway, happy roleplaying.

Edit: Kas is correct. You don't really need permission of the Staff to start a roleplay like this (storyline and character oriented). Just go ahead.

I don't think the city in the book was on Coruscant...As a matter of fact, I'm sure it wasn't. I can't remember what planet it was on. I think if it was really an important storyline to Star Wars, they would have put Ken in there somewhere, especially since in the book I read, he knows Han, Leia, and Luke and them. I'd have to go up into my attic and search the book to find it, otherwise I'd get you the name of it. Also, I think it was more a series for twelve year olds...Easy reading, which is why there were three stories in each book. Short and simple. There was even one about...Some Hutt getting revenge on Leia...Oh, it was Jabba's...father?...For killing Jabba, and she was going to be taken to the Sarlaac to be sacrificed.

You're not the first person who's made the comparison, but if you think about it, during the Jedi purges, it was sort of like the Jews VS the Nazis. Hitler was either Vader or Palpatine, and all those who opposed him were the Jedi.

If it won't interfere with your current storyline on Coruscant, it could easily be there...Though if there was a war of some sort, wouldn't the people living underground have left the city because of...bomping or something? I have no ideas for any new planet that it could be on, so please, if you have any ideas...either post it here or IM me.

I was told that it'd be something the admins would have to approve. I mean, I'm assuming there'd be some section set up for this part of the RP...As a faction or whatever...So I'm assuming that that part would have to be approved.

I'm thinking that if it gets popular, a message board will be made that will still be part of TRF for us to RP on so we can have more room to work with on the board, and less of a boundary for the storyline, unless the storyline would still have to be part of the main one...Meaning that the stuff on Coruscant would still have to happen and all that.

Anyway...IM me on AIM if you wish to discuss this, or stuff in general, any further.

I hope this works out, because I think it could really work and be a cool storyline.

Well, if it's this book: http://www.theforce.net/books/reviews/r_city.asp , then the planet was Yavin 4. No one owns that planet I think so you can have at it.

Yeah, it is that book, the cover was different. Haha, I had TOTALLY forgotten about the "Sky house". One of those stories has Han propose to Leia, too.

Anyway...The thing about Yavin is that there are the temples that could have been used in the city, but as I said before, having it underground brings mystery to the storyline...It's a tough call. I'd have to think more about how it'd work VS having it on Coruscant.

Maybe...At first, it was only a small group that met on Yavin to talk about forming the city, and that was when the queen was chosen...And they met in underground rooms...And once the city was established, it was mainly above ground...

I don't know...Any ideas on how that'd work? I think it'd be easier to use Yavin now...Even though I like the underground thing a lot better....It might be easier to just use Yavin.

Hmm...

I'm going to join again as another username and use this name for OOCing. I'll use the other one for IC so that I can have a screen name for the character.
