Valdet News Daily, special interruption

"Unfortunatley we must interrupt the hologame of the Hapan Raiders versus the Coruscant Hawkbats to bring you this special news bulletin. Just moments ago during the annoiting ceremony in downtown Grand Isle, where Commodore Carson was promoted to the rank of Admiral in a highly public ceremony, a car bomb went off, and we have reports of casualties on the ground. We go now to our reporter in the area, Trisha Stevens." announced a grim faced news anchor as the holoview shifted away from here, and the screens switched to a holocamera showing a live feed from the grand arts center in downtown Grand Isle, not far from the main military base near the Volcano. It showed a towering plume of smoke rising into the air, and military and rescue airspeeders were all over the place, with stormtroopers and medical personnel filing all about assessing injuries and preparing for any follow up attacks.

"This is Trisha Stevens reporting live from the scene of a terrible bombing site, and there is no doubt in anyone's mind that this was a brutal act of terroism. There are fatalties, among them the limo driver, and the ten year old son of Admiral Carson. The Admiral himself, his wife, and their two remaining children were spirited away moments ago to the local hospital to undergo physical and mental assistance as needed. Other high ranking officers have either collapsed in grief or are now storming about in anger. Just moments before we came on the air here, the governer Park Kraken and his wife were seen leaving the area of the bombing in their personnal car. Melina was seen grieving, but from what we saw on the expression of the governer, we can only form the opinion that the perpertuators have made a serious miscalculation, as anyone does when launching an attack against the Empire. This is Trisha Stevens, reporting live from downtown Grand Isle." the reporter signed off, and then collapsed onto a nearby bench, shaking her head. She had survived the occupation of Vladet by the brutal warlord, and had survived the battle to oust the warlord by resistance members supported by the true Empire, and had hoped against hope that she would be able to live out the rest of her life in peace. Now, that was not to be.

The holoview came back to the news station where the anchor sat at. "All I can say at this time is that our hearts go out to the Admiral and his family, and we will bring you additional updates as we recieve them. Now, back to your regulary scheduled feature."
