After the battle of Mon Calamari, the Republic needed time to recover. Now suitibly composed, they send out a declaration to the empire.

"We would like to draw galactic attention to The Empire. It has recently assaulted Mon Calamari in a bloodbath of civilian death.

"They destroyed two Mon Calamari Shipyards, slaughtering the innocent famalies within. They would have annhialated all five of them, had not bold moves and agressive tactics by the defenders driven them off.

"This attack, along with their alliance of evil minions and allies, has shown that the empire cannot stand peace. We had coexisted peacefully since the wraith virus disaster, for some time Top Mon Calamari officials felt that the days of opposition and enimity was over and we could have had signed a peace treaty between these warring factions.

"But the empire, without one word of warning or explination, struck down these chances in a horrible battle.

"Lead by the war criminal and inhumane monster Chau Ming, they showed no mercy. We ask the galaxy to reconsider the empire; is it stable enough? If it struk us, what keeps it from striking you? Are we safe in a galaxy ruled by power-hungry megalomaniacs under the guise of a lawful empire?

"We say no.

"So to those who stand unsure on the balance of good and evil, know that justice resides, as always, with the Coalition"

MCR press release panned by the Galactic Empire
Commodore Gevel calls proclamation ‘bullshit’

After a press release by the rebel government known as the ‘Mon Calamari Republic’ infuriated Imperial citizens across the galaxy, Imperial Command issued a justifiably harsh reply through a press conference. A spokesperson called the charges “ridiculous. The Mon Calamari government is seeking to direct the attention toward the Empire after the events of the past week have shown them to be a greedy, heartless regime of racist bigots.”

Theren Gevel, asked for his opinion during a press conference regarding a slight tax hike on Karfeddion, used even stronger language. “I’m not sure who they think they’re kidding. Those shipyards were manufacturing warships, and thus can be considered military targets. How is their destruction any different than the rebellion’s destruction of the two Imperial space stations over Endor and Yavin IV? It’s bullshit, is what it is.”

He elaborated, saying, “The Empire is universal. It spanned the entire galaxy, before the Mon Calamari helped to bring that period of peace and stability to an end. It is our duty to end their self-admitted racist government and bring about true equality throughout the galaxy. The Empire will do whatever is necessary to bring that about.” Last week, the Mon Calamari Republic admitted and boasted of using racial bias in the judicial, legislative, and executive systems of their government.

Imperial officials have asked the press that no more questions be asked regarding the MCR proclamation. A spokesperson said, “The charges have no merit. They are presented without logic or evidence, by an illegitimate rebel government. Therefore, they will be ignored.”
