Reporter: Hello, I’m Ralph Howitzer with the headline news at the bottom of the hour. This morning, we’ve received word from our newscasters with the Jutraalian Fleet Liaison Committee that the Jutraalian War Council has voted unanimously to launch the first of many offensives into Demosthesian territory, by striking at their industrial world of Thyferra.

Reporter: As many of our viewers might know, Thyferra is the rich industrial world where the miracle medical solution of Bacta is manufactured and processed. In an attempt to seize a possibly key strategic factor in the effort to defeat the Demosthesians and end their tyrannical regime, the Thyferra Invasion Force struck at Thyferra approximately nine fifth teen o.m. standard Jutraalian Space Time.

Reporter: The overall strategy for Thyferra’s liberation was formulated by Captain Ragi, and with the fleet group being given under the authority of Commander Telween, Jutraalian forces marched against the provinces of Thyferra with all due speed.

Reporter: Our fleet liaisons report to us however that the Invasion Force’s incursion into the Thyferra did not go unnoticed by the Demosthesian military. The Demosthesian defense fleet arrived after consider time from the Invasion Force’s insertion into enemy territory, at which point our liaison’s reported that Jutraalian forces were authorized to engage the enemy fleet.

Reporter: After the loss of two Jutraalian frigates, as well as two of our fleet liaisons, and the deaths of fifteen fighter pilots, the Invasion Force experienced a turn of the tide, and Demosthesian forces were completely eradicated from Thyferran space. These images of the battle were captured:

Reporter: With Thyferran space lanes once again secured from the hand’s of Seti Ashar’s steel grip, Commander Telween commenced with the operation to gain control of Thyferra itself, with the demilitarizing of all Demosthesian troops groundside. Reports from our liaisons indicate that there was not much in the way of resistance groundside of Thyferra.

Reporter: Along with elite Jutraalian troops, a Thyferran rebel commander by the name of Mnar had launched several covert strikes against Demosthesian troops, seriously crippling the enemy’s foothold in the system. After a minute period of planet side fighting, Jutraalian fleet was dispatched into the system's orbital atmospheric dry docks, as captured in this image:

Reporter: With the Demosthesian’s military and communications centers destroyed, Jutraalian forces have now begun sending in relief aid to Thyferran citizens who were once subjugated under the iron rule Seti Ashar. As one native commentator put it, “peace and order have once again been restored.”

Reporter: The Demosthesian commander in charge of Thyferra’s defense has not been identified at this time, though a substantial bounty has been sent out for the live capture of the commander and his official subordinate staff.
