VNN’s Economic Situation Room
Headline News
“This is Maranda Evans reporting live from the VNN Economic Situation Room. Our Brosi Bureau has just received a report that Sol Nyhammer, who recently lashed out against Galactic Coalition’s unwarranted war of aggression against the Black Dragon Empire, has been ousted from his position as Co-Chairman of CTI’s Board of Directors. We now go live to the press conference in which Mr. Nyhammer will announce his resignation.”
VNN’s Economic Situation Room dissolves to reveal a podium bearing the CTI logo. An unshaven Sol Nyhammer made his way across the stage to the podium. Questions from the gathered reporters began to fly.
Sol motioned for them to quiet down. “Yes, it’s true. Recent circumstances have forced me to step down from my position at CTI. I just signed for a ten million credit severance package, so any questions you ask will receive an honest and straight answer. Because frankly…
I don’t give a *COMMONWEALTH SENSOR*.”
A reporter in the first row shot up her hand.
“You… with the weird ass hat.”
“Mr. Nyhammer, could you elaborate on the reasons for your resignation?”
The ex-CEO chuckled. “Does boos and running your mouth a little too much qualify as an answer? Next question please, the man in the back with the horn, go ahead.”
“We understand that you are antiwar as far as the Black Dragon Empire and the New Galactic Coalition war is concerned, but what reasons do you stand behind for that one?”
“I’m against this war because it never should have happened. The Black Dragon Empire may have ‘started’ it, but the Coalition sure as hell escalated it. This is why the Commonwealth places so much emphasis on its ambassador corps, so we can avoid pointless wars such as this one.”
Sol took a sip from a glass of clear liquid behind the podium.
“This isn’t water by the way.” The man cleared his throat. “Where was I…? Oh yeah… pointless wars… Foreign policy shouldn’t be dictated by the navy. Negotiating is the key to a successful nation, not killing.”
The man exhaled. “I had a conversation about this with a close friend yesterday. It seems that this war has severely compromised the rights of the citizens of the Coalition, and the morality that the government stands behind…
…There lookin’ like the Empire more everyday… uhm… No more questions please. I’ve got ten million credits to piss away.”
