The Serendivus Organization was formed by Fikan Serendivus, a retired Coalition officer who wanted more freedom than he was given as an officer. With the money he accrued as an officer he bought a small cruiser and managed to crew it with some of the people he knew from the military that also retired.
Roughly a year after he retired he went and formed the Serendivus Mercenarys, later renamed strictly to Serendivus. Over the course of ten year's his small cruiser ran trade routes within Coalition and the Outer rim, building a large sum of money to the point of being able to purchase a trading outpost from a person who was getting rather bored with just sitting around doing something.
The buying the trading station allowed for Fikan and his small band to get even more money, while they also still did trading runs within the region. He soon was able to hire other mercenary's to help protect his station, since there was time's when the station came under attack.
Three year's later his ship would get into a fire fight with an up and becoming pirate clan located in the outer rim territorie's in an asteroid field that was swarming with starship wreak's from the old war's. The fight lasted five days, the pirate leader realized that it was futile to continue to fight, both side's where to eveningly matched. The leader decided to approuch Fikan with a strange offer - to join him and his organization.
The clan that joined the Serendivus brought in twenty one ships, mostly corvette's and two light destroyers, and a dozen fighters. However the clan group also brought in two station's that they had salvaged in another region of space, these station's where remodeled and soon turned into colony station's.
Shortly after the station's where given to the Serendivus though they where destroyed by a rogue pirate group, the destruction wasn't that bad though considering there weren't many on board the station, but it still told them that they had a long way to go.
Two more year's would eventually pass, Fikan managed to get several more clans to side with him. One thing held the technology needed to hollow out an asteroid, this lead to the creation of many asteroid base's within different asteroid fields all around the outer rim and just outside the Coalition territorys (Fikan made it clear NOT to place any bases with Coalition, BDE, or New Order space)
Finally, one year later Fikan achieved his dream. He had an organization with a large number of ship's and good amount of trading stations, along with several other asteroid bases. He was ready to make his organization public.
The Serendivus where created as a Mercenary group, taking on missions that most government's wouldn't want there military to do. These mission's had very unique rewards, but some also had poor rewards, either way they took them on anyway.
Possessing very advanced Cloaking technology that render's there station's invisible, the Seren's have managed to keep most of there important station's out of eye's reach.
When on a mission, they pride themselves on hit and run attack's, staying there just long enough to do damage and then fleeing. Having said that, there ships utilize speed and agility more than firepower, armor and shields. They don't have the capacity to survive in a brutal fight.
Since the Seren's don't have the resource's to create anything bigger than a cruiser, they relie mainly on auction's and salvage to get ahold of heavy cruisers and destroyers. Often time's taking them completely apart to create whole new ships, this is where there knowledge come's in.
The Seren's use a caste system much like what is used in Babylon 5 by the Membarie (spelling)
There's an industrial class, military caste, and a research caste.
The industrial caste, Monteson, is responsible for producing new ships and weapon's for the organization and also have the responsbility to repair stations and ships. They also build asteroid base's once the asteroid is hollowed out.
The Military caste, Zaithrone, is responsible for the defense of Serendivus property, and are responsible for undertaking mission's. Relaying heavily on cloaking technology, they tend to stay hidden. They also test out new weapon's created by the research caste. The warrior caste is very aggressive, going as far as pursueing there enemy's into asteroid fields. The caste is very well trained
The Research caste, Xelosone, is responsible for everything relating to researching new technologie's for the organization, they broken up into three sub castes:
Weapons/industrial Research
Ship/station Research
Componant/module Research
The research caste isn't very populated, there for they lag behind in technology's much more than the other factions within the universe, however what they lack in numbers they make up for in idea's and technology presented - the cloaking drive being there most recent creation, and there best.
The organization is currently run by Lavality Serendivus who holds the rank of Grand Admiral, second in command is Merendez Foe, and third in command is Lumier Foe.
The orgnization's main HQ is located somewhere in the outer rim, but it's location's remain secret even to those closet to Lavality. Only her and those she has appointed to the council know of it's location.
Currently the Serendivus is a Sub-faction of the Galactic Coalition and specialize's in stealth technology.
