Sovereignty President Addresses Terrorist Faction
ORS Intent Declared

Commentary By: Rowlan Geoff

President Xander Griff held a press conference today, to address the mounting aggression by a terrorist group known as the Black Dragon Empire. The said terrorists, and their long-time ally, the radical group known only as 'Farfalen' attacked two Sovereignty worlds recently. The president has finally issued a statement condemning the attacks and announcing the Sovereignty's determination to put an end to the Black Dragon Empire.

The Sovereignty scorpion embelem was soon replaced by the image of President Xander Griff, at a press conference. Various cameras clicked furiously, as reporters from dozens of news stations tried to get their voices heard. After a moment, Griff raised his hand and all quieted. He then pointed to one of the reporters.

"President Griff! Do you intend to declare war on the Black Dragon Empire?"

"Not a declaration of war. Merely a declaration of intent. The Black Dragon Empire has always been an aggressive nation, ruthlessly expanding their territory in a way that reminds me of the Yuuzhan Vong. The Sovereignty officially condemns all attacks on it's worlds and we will be seeking justice for this ruthless terrorist faction."

"Mr. President! Some have speculated on rumors of strange genetic practices the Black Dragon Empire has put into effect."

"My Intelligence officialls have informed me that the Black Dragon Empire has forced cruel genetic devices onto their citizens, such as nano-technological devices. They call it "the next step in evolution", but why should babies be infected with little 'nanomachines'?

"Are they harmful?"

"From what I've seen, they very well could be."

"What will the Sovereignty's response to these rumors be?"

"One has to question the morals. They are forcing sentient beings, just like you and me, to undergo extreme and dangerous genetic procedures. Is this right? What do the citizens of the Black Dragon Empire think? What BDE is doing seems too much like torture to me. If this is the case, they must be stopped."

"What are the Sovereignty's intentions?"

"The Black Dragon Empire has crossed the line. We have never done them any harm, we have never threatened their worlds, or people. But they have launched unprovoked attacks on our worlds and the Sovereignty, and I will NOT stand for it! We will not succumb to weapons of mass destruction, which the Black Dragon Empire is in possesion of, and we will not back down.

"From here on out, the Black Dragon Empire has been declared a terrorist state and an enemy of the free peoples of the Outer-Rim Sovereignty. And we will have our justice."

Griff leaves the podium as the many reporters jump up to get in their last minute questi

-----------------------

So there you have it. The Black Dragon Empire has been officially marked a terrorist faction and an enemy of the Sovereignty. It has been reported that President Griff has recently asked for funds from congress for any coming military engagements with BDE. So far the Black Dragon Empire has offered no statement.

<font size=4>President Griff: Warmonger?
ORS decleration leaves many wondering</font>

Commentary by Ian Malcolm

In a press release earlier today, President Xander Griff of the Outer-Rim Sovereignty declared the Black Dragon Empire, a little-known faction residing in the Tion Sector, a terrorist faction and asked for congress's approval of launching an attack on that government.

The move, coming in the wake of failed peace talks with the New Order, has left many wondering whether the President's claims of wanting peace are true.

In his decleration of intent, President Griff cites recent attacks against the worlds of Bakura and Endor to justify his assault. And while wartime does make an easy excuse for war, one must wonder if a man who seems so eager to take part is truly the right type of person to lead a galactic government.

The Empire has already declared Xander Griff a war criminal for the actions of his forces at Tatooine, Bespin, and Abregado-Rae - can we expect the same sort of actions against the worlds of the Black Dragon Empire should an attack be directed against them?

It is a sad fact that only time will tell. But I fear for the safety of the citizens of the Black Dragon Empire.

<span style="font-family:times new roman; color:white;font-size:x-large;">BDE RESPONSE</span>
<span style="font-family:times new roman; color:white;font-size:large;">Holotext Reply to accusations</span>

BDE acknowledges the Empires laws as holding true over the galaxy at hand, these laws congruent with their ownership of Imperial Center. With Xander Griff on the top Ten of the galaxies list of most wanted men, BDE has attempted to liberate the holdings of said war time criminal in an effort to administer justice where needed.

All claims to undermine said attempts are merely those futile agencies attempting to turn attations away from these truths to divert galactic attention away from their own crimes. BDE will not rest until this known fugitive is saftley in the hands of Imperial Interogators.

Press Release from the office of Theren Gevel:

Footage of a recent Outer-Rim Sovereignty press briefing was recently delivered to me, and I must say, it amused me to no end.

They call it "the next step in evolution", but why should babies be infected with little 'nanomachines'?
Yes, why, if we allow this to continue, next thing you know they might be cloning human beings.

From here on out, the Black Dragon Empire has been declared a terrorist state and an enemy of the free peoples of the Outer-Rim Sovereignty.
Surely this is some sort of typographical error. I fail to see how such grave factual fallacies make their way into press briefings, but in the future, proof reading would be advisable.

Galactic Coalition Press Release

Today a Galactic Coalition official commented on the Farfalen and Black Dragon Empire attacks against the Outer-Rim Sovereignty and the Galactic Coalition.

"The Galactic Coalition official condems the Farfalen attacks against both Bakura and Adumar. As well, we condem their unprovoked attack on Kessel. We will not allow these terrorists to attack our allies without a cause."

"Why do you call them terrorists?"

"I call them terrorist because that is what they are. They attacked a mining colony that, while part of the Galactic Coalition, was mainly independant, running things by themselves. They threaten to attack the planet of Adumar with nuclear weapons. They attacked Bakura without warning or reason. In fact, all the planets they have attacked have been done so without warning, or reason."

"What of the press release from Theren Gevel's office?"

"The Galactic Coalition supports free speech, so they can say what they want. However, I do not see any typographical errors in the quote from the Outer-Rim Sovereingty's press release, because the citizens living in ORS space are free, much as the citizens that live in GC's space."

"What about BDE's press release?"

"If they truely acknowledged the Empire's laws as holding true over the galaxy, then they wouldn't be a seperate government, they would join the Empire. As it is now they are their own seperate government, with their own laws."

"What of Ian Malcolm's comment of Mr. Griff being a war criminal?"

"I have to ask him, what terrible crimes did President Griff commit on Tatooine? Exactly, none."

"What about the claims of crimes at Bespin and Abregado-rae?"

"Everyone has seen the Empire's claims and the Outer-Rim Sovereingty's claims. They blame each other of destroying Cloud City. I do not have positive evidence that either one is right, so I refuse to comment on that. As far as Abregado-rae goes, I believe the ORS forces were firing on a military building. All military buildings under the Galactic Coalition were purposely built far from cities, but evidentally the same can not be said for the Imperials. They were obviously hiding behind the citizens, so they could then claim that whoever attacked their forces there were terrorists."

"What about the BDE attack on Endor?"

"Galactic Coalition vessels are fighting alongside ORS vessels, defending the citizens. They are also terrorists, for the same reasons as Farfalen is terrorists, with one minor exception. Instead of using nuclear weapons, they use biological weapons."

No more questions were asked and the official walked away.
