News From the Galactic Market....

*Camera Pans around the News Room to show a human and a Mon Calamari Announcer. Behind them is the familiar blue/green backdrop of the set from Finance Today. The human clears his throat and begins to speak.*

"Today in a surprise move Blas tech Industries one of the largest weapon manufacturers in the world announced that they have completed their takeover bid of Czerka Industries the third largest weapon manufacturer in the Galaxy. This move makes them the largest weapons manufacturer in the galaxy with over 20% more profit last year than their closest competitors Merr-Sonn. Also quite surprisingly they have moved their headquarters to the planet of Czerka. The reason for this move is unknown though it could be that they want to be closer to their partners Merr-Sonn. Blas tech announced their move shortly after a joint announcement by the CEO's of both Blas tech and Merr-Sonn concerning a new Research project that they will develop together. Merr-Sonn and Blas tech do have a history of working together. One such partnership produced the incredibly good EWeb 15 which is the newest best version of the E-Web repeating blaster."

*The camera changes it's focue to the Mon Calamari.*

"Funny you should mention that Blake. The Mon Calamri Republic has announced a multi-million dollar deal with Blas tech today that would include the upgrading of all of their E-Web's to EWeb 15s. This and the other news brought forward today caused Blas tech shares to skyrocket though it was less on worlds decidely less then friendly with the Mon Calamari Republic. Merr-Sonn shares also raised a large bit though it was much less than the Blas tech shares. Overall it has contributed decidely to the turnaround in the Glactic Market a fact that can be pointed towards the Mon Calamari Republic. In other News the Mon Calamari Credit raised almost 1 tenth of a credit while the Jutraalian Credit in the face of it's recent defeats continues to lose value..........................

I suppose the Mon Calamari Republic thinks itself terribly clever, taking credit for a turnaround in the Galactic Stock Exchange because they bought themselves some guns. Why, not only will you be able to kill more people, but you also gain free prestige!

I guess I don't really have a point, other than to make it abundantly clear to the people of the galaxy that just because the M.C.R. declares itself Savior Of All, doesn't mean that there isn't a different side to the story.

And that biased, likely government-sponsored programming only presents only one side of that story.

More money for BlastTech -- especially in the terrifyingly huge volumes capable of being delivered by a government -- means more productivity, which means more guns. Which means more guns in the hands of criminals. More guns circulating makes them a more integral part of the economy, which means laxer blaster laws. More production means lower blaster production prices, which lowers retail and once again puts more blasters in the hands of criminals. More production means more guns, which lowers blaster prices again. Same effect.

Beginning to see the other side?

This all amounts to more crime, more murder, and more blaster-related deaths.

Always think about what you hear.

just like to say that this was a newscast on a neutral world with no Mon Calamari Republic affiliations. The turnaround isn't solely because of the order there are other things just haven't had the time to post them.

Have a nice day

OOC -- Yeah, right. That's like the Chadd writing a million manifestos glorifying TRE and then claiming they were broadcast by neutral folks with no alliance to him. The fact that you folks can't separate OOC from IC enough to ever second-guess your own characters means that anything you post in here is going to have to be either by you or sponsored by you.

Yet again the Mon Calamari Republic reveals their true stupidity in the face of others.

Mr. Toritho obviously has no business as an officer in the MC Republic, as he lacks the brains and skill to lead their fleets into battle.

As usual, he forgets the obvious - such as the fact that BlasTech has been the biggest manufacturer of weapons since the days of Emperor Palpatine.

Someone, please make sure this idiot is never seen in command again.

"The Mon Calamari Republic worries me..." The Queen started as she stepped up to the podium in her conference hall.

"First, they begin an aggressive pattern of expansion, and then they set up billion credit deals to re-arm there military. It makes me wonder.... what are the motives of the Mon Calamari Republic? Do they intend on making themselves a massive aggressive superpower of sheer military might?"

New Alderaan - Defence Council Meeting

"The next subject on the floor is the recent expandion of the Mon Cal Republic," the Moderator said, gazing at each of the assembled military commanders.
"The Mon Cal Republic?" A man snorted. "They lack even the planet their name is derived from!"
"Granted, Commander Davil, but they could be a threat. Their expansions into Ylesia and Nar Hekka are very dangerous, and this recent deal with BlasTech is a bad sign."
"Agreed." Supreme Commander Isstal looked around carefully. "And know this: any unprovoked moves by the Mon Calamari Republic will not be tolerated. We will not have another Empire on our hands. Should MCR prove to be a problem, they will be eliminated with all possible speed. Admiral - I want you to contact MCr and relay out message."
Drayson nodded.
"At once, sir!"

Newscast on Olanjii

*The holocom pans around a room showing a KDY executive. Behind him on the wall is the huge insigna of Kuat Drive Yards.*

"We have just recently signed a deal with the Mon Calamari Republic. In the face of threats by the mercernary "peace keeping" agency Galactic Defence Initiative. The Mon Calamari felt that they would need to expand their forces to aid in the defence of their member worlds...."

*Announcer's voice cuts over the Executives voice.*

"The size and the cost of the deal is not known yet but it is rumouread to be in the range of several million credits. This is the second deal announced by the Mon Calamari Republic and other military suppliers. It appears that they have a bit of budget surplus that they are currently using to upgrade their armed forces. In responce to the deal KDY stocks rose as well as CEC stocks. Also Taim and Bak, Borstel and Chembant stocks rose. Market analysts assume that those stocks rose because they supply different components that make up many KDY ships. This recent development has also contributed towards stocks rising again for the second day in a row..............................

(I'm not even going to bother pointing out all the errors in that. Besides the fact that you do not speak for KDY, and that Kuat is under the control of TNR or TRE... Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.)
