After the recent update of events from the new faction known only as the Galactic Coalition, Kamon Vondiranach, chief of state for the Tholatin Republic and Prince of Tholatin, has been drawn into a press conference for which INN has been granted access. These events are exclusive to our network through this format of broadcast and any other use of this broadcast will be illegal in all enforcable regions. If you choose to break INN rules of use you will be punished with a fine and/or a prison sentence.
The crowd quieted as Kamon found his way to the podium in the front of the room. The newws agency's had been pressing him for days now to come out and say what he thought of this new faction and its policy's. They seemed very interested in it but as usual also wanted to know his stance on the Empire. Kamon agreed to the conference. He stopped at the mike and smiled.
"Mr. Vondiranach!"
"Go ahead."
"Mike Fields, INN. What is your stance on this new faction known as the Galactic Coalition and what do you think of its policy's?"
"Well, my stance is commonly known to be supportive of them. Although their are some conflicts of interest in diplomatical fashions. Basically things to dow tih diplomatic ties. As for their policy's, they are almost the same as our own even though we do not frequently involve ourselves in battle unless necessary or opportunity is seen to have a successful mission."
Kamon pointed a hand to the next person and smiled.
"Eric Trevalin, SkyNews. If you only attack when you see a successful opportunity as the outcome, what do you make of the debalce with the Holy Demosthesian Empire?"
"That was a miscalculation on our part. We miscalculated the enemies strength and were nearly destroyed by their machines of war. As it was, they did start the actual fighting by ambushing us. We at first had no intention of military action. Then they pressed the assault by taking Tholatin from us where we were yet again outnumbered. Without the help of allies and friends Tholatin would quite possibly have been lost."
More hands went into the air and Kamon moved down the line.
"Jeren Corel, NSA. At the time of this unfortunate event, you believed HDE was an enemy and a threat. The Juutralian Empire was involved in a war with them and you took the initiative to scope out prospects and stop a potential terrorist attack. DO you think you succeeded?"
"We are positive that the attack was stopped by our actions to blockade Commenor. Whether it be by hindering their movement or just by apperaing we do not know. It could be one or both of those. As to whether we believe were successful in other aspects, no we weren't. Not only did we lose brave men and women that risked their lives to protect their homes, we lost valuable machines of war that we spent much time building. We did not fare well in the incident. SOme people even say we should not have attempted to stop the attack."
More hands and yet again Kamon chose a person.
"Veronica Selic, INN. The Tholatin Republic seems to be a prime choice by factions in this galaxy to be attacked. You have been attacked multiple times by people that even were your allies. In that time you had to have formed opinions about these people. What is your opinion about TNO? Are they truly evil?"
"In some senses of the word yes they are. Not only do they blatantly attack people they see as a threat even though nothing has been done to them, but they house Sith on their planets. No faction that houses Sith can be good in all senses of the word. However, I do not truly believe they are completely evil at heart. These people value the lives of their citizens and the people that are employed by their government. In all knowledge that is a good thing. They respect the rights of most of their citizens and protect them."
More hands shot up. Kamon wondered if they were ever going to run out of questions.
"Arcon Terik, Alpha News. Does the Tholatin Republic have any intent to attack the New Order?"
"At this time we have no intent of forcing their hand by attacking them. It would be foolish on our part to risk the small fleet we have to attack an enemy so powerful. Not only do they severly outnumber the Republic, but they also have much more experience than our commanders. Their soldiers are more experienced, their pilots are more experienced, it would be a waste of our time, money, and resources. And even if we did I would not be able to tell you."
A few more hand shot up and Kamon motioned for one more.
"Elizabeth White, Net 4. What future plans does the Republic have as to development and commerce?"
"We are currently in the process of seeking out a few planets to join us. Basically we have sent teams to Adumar and a planet whose name I cannot say. Adumar houses a great society of people known for their combat skills. They flew against Rogue Squadron and fared as well as possible considering the Rogue Pilots' skills. Their willingness ot fight and thier great skill led them as a great choice for us.
"As for commercially, we plan to conitnue our trade with the usual factions out there that have need for our goods. We provide currency to some of the smaller and less fortunate planets in the standard Cred instead of TTR Marks. We continue to build our fleet which includes some trading vessels that are sent out with our goods for trading. We basically try and do our best to make a living."
More hand shot up but Kamon waved them away and backed off the stage. Some security personnel stepped forward to hold the reporters away as they tried to get in last minute questions. Their last glimpse of him was as he walked out of the door.
