The transmission was playing over and over...

"Admiral, is there anything you have to say for the Imperial and Coalition viewers?"

The leader on the screen leaned forward slightly, "Yes. To all the former citizens of the Azgaurdian Galactic Military, the New Rebellion, and the Mon Calamari Republic, you have my personal assurance as Supreme Commander of the Coalition Navy, that I will do everything in my power to keep you homes, lands, and lives safe.

Be afraid no longer.

To all the Imperial viewers, and the leaders of the Empire, know this: We will no longer stand by idily why you, your Star Destroyers, and your Stormtroopers muscle us around. You will no longer take our homes, or our lives at your will. We are no longer weak, fractured, or insignificant. You will know that we are no longer the prey. We are the hunters."

He paused, and a smile formed on his face.

"We are coming."

The transmission ended and the lights came back on as the audience stirred.

There could not have been a greater declaration of intent.

The room opened in pandemonium as Grand Marshall Simon Kaine, recently returned from Jutraal, stepped up to the podium in a rare public appearance.

Cameras captured his calm exterior and his near expressionless face, a stark contrast to the tension in the audience as reporters scrambled to ask the first questions.

He was dressed in the black and gray of his station, his black gloved hands rested on the sides of the podium he stood behind as calls shouted out.

"Marshall! Marshall! What is the reaction from the Imperial High Command regarding the Coalition's transmission?"

The Grand Marshall glanced down at the reporter before answering, a slight irritation crept into his bearing. He gave the impression that appearing before the INS was an annoyance to a man who was very busy. "A memo from Imperial Intelligence was dispatched to appropriate members of the High Command informing them of the
existence of yet another belligerent and aggressive faction that seems bent on making an enemy of the Empire."

The reporter seemed speechless. Another asked, "So the High Command does not constitute the transmission as important?"

"The transmission from this...this Coalition is everything it was designed to be and some things it wasn't."

"Could you elaborate, Marshall?"

"It is an elementary psychology that seems to cross species. When an animal feels threatened, what is the first thing it does?"

He paused for a second before answering. "It lashes out at what it considers a threat. It also moves to establish some type of dominance over it's own. It's own! This transmission does just that and seems to be directed more for population it governs than the Empire at large. However, it is still inflamatory in the extreme and threatening by design. What, though, also came across in their speech was their inferiority."

"How so, Marshall?"

The Grand Marshall's eyes narrowed. "Well, by their own admission, their motivations do not stem from any advanced culture their propaganda offices may have espoused. Their motivations do not stem from any nobility on their part nor indignation against what
they feel is right.

And why is that?"

His lips formed a small smile, "Because, quite frankly, they can't.

This fellowship of smaller governments, this.. coalition merely parades nobility around to suit their needs mirroring much of what was once done by the failed Rebellion. An advanced culture, or rather, people of advanced principles do not need to stoop to threats (veiled or otherwise) to cover their fear."

Simon's gloved hand shot out to the audience.

"And there! There is their motivation!

Fear!

They fear what we have! They fear the security each and every Imperial Citizen experiences and they fear our way of life!

And this fear drives an entire race of beings to form a complex..an inferiority complex! Any psychologist will tell you that the standard response from those with inferiority complexes is unrestrained aggression!"

A loud buzzing erupted in the room as Imperial Center's regional news reporters began talking about the implications of that last statement.

A hand shot out and was recognized.

"They claim to have justifications for their fears, Marshall. Would you care to comment on those?"

The Grand Marshall shrugged slightly. "Everyone makes claims. That does not make them true."

"There have been claims that the Empire is evil."

Grand Marshall Kaine actually smiled at that. "So there have," he agreed.

"Mon Mothma, General Madine and scores of rebels all claimed that the Empire was evil. And they used this as an excuse for violent revolution rather than legally working with the established system of government!

The Empire does not condone armed and violent revolution in any way. It considers such acts of sedition tantamount to acts of terrorism!"

"So, Marshall, you claim that the Empire is good?"

Grand Marshall Simon Kaine stared at the person who asked that before slowly phrasing his thoughts.

"No. I don't."

A surprised murmur spread throughout the room. Kaine's hands tightened on the podium slightly and his voice became more intense.

"Listen to me carefully because I do not want there to be any confusion to my response. I do not consider the Empire good.. nor do I consider the Empire evil.

Those are religous distinctions that have no place on a government level.

The Empire acts in the best interests of the Empire. That means weighing hundreds of thousands of problems in a single day and prioritizing them. Sometimes those priorities are feeding the hungry on Kuat and sometimes those priorities could be education for the younger generations of the Empire. It means that, at times, the Empire must prioritize an armed revolution aimed at
tearing everything that we have built apart and sometimes, the Empire must experience the ills of war.

These are not easy decisions in the act of governing worlds boasting populations of the billions."

Kaine stared at the person who had asked the last question again.

"So no. The Empire will not be stapled with religious distinctions for the Empire does not consider itself a 'religious' or 'theocratic' body.

We are not the 'Holy' Galactic Empire. Simply, the Galactic Empire."

There was some stirring for fresh on the minds of the reporters and INS employees alike were the articles regarding Religion and Lupercus Darksword.

"Marshall, in John Snid's article about the Corelian Governor's association with a... a.." the woman searched her notes, "..a religious cult and Theren Gevel's report linking Chadwick Fearsons with condoning insane religious cults.. would you care to comment on the Empire's stand as to religion?"

Grand Marshall Kaine laughed slightly and put out a hand to forestall any further additional questions.

"First, I have glanced briefly at John Snid's comments and I do note that he confused the New Order with the New Empire."

There were sharp intakes of breath at that. The citizens of Imperial Center were loath to have anyone bring up memories of the Wrath Virus, a pathogen originally designed to cripple the Empire yet crippled a galaxy. A virus designed by another revolutionary
faction styling themselves the New Empire.

New Empire.. New Republic.. it was all the same to the Empire.

"The Empire is for religious freedom for everyone. Human and alien alike. However, what happens with these other factions such as the 'Holy' Demosthesian Empire or even with the Jutraalian Empire is that their religion and beliefs begin to creep up in their government policy. In effect, they become a theocracy yet they give no devotion to any higher, supreme being. So because they follow a man, their theocracy resembles more a cult than anything else.

Again, following a cult is a personal decision though not one I would make.

What makes these 'cults' insane is that they were attaching themselves to a particular religious sect that is bent on the overthrow of the Empire."

"What religious sect is that, Marshall?"

"I refer to the current incarnation of the Jedi. What started as a noble tradition in the Old Republic soon became degenerate as is noted by historians when they study the Fall of the Old Republic.

In studying that, it is seen how far they strayed from their original purpose of Keeping the Peace.

The Secessionists, before the Clone Wars, were allowed to gain strength which ultimately severed the head of the Old Republic.

When order was brought back to the galaxy, it was Jedi who stood in defiance."

Kaine shrugged. "I can only guess that perhaps they were jealous that the Empire succeeded where they had failed.

In any event, the Jedi degenerated from their original noble roles to anarchists...sowing dissent and resolute in their determination to destroy us."

Kaine's hand stabbed out at the air.

"It was these degenerate Jedi who lead the attack on Dantooine! It was these degenerate Jedi who attempted to kill the Ebony Vigilance! It was these degenerate Jedi who were the leaders of the failed New Republic! Who lead the revolution to split the Empire!

Both the Demosthesians and Fearsons were negotiating with these degenerates! These people who's entire reason for being revolves around our destruction!

If that is not insane, I do not know what is."

The Marshall's eyes narrowed. "The article also spoke of Lupercus Darksword being one of the most wanted man in the galaxy!

My response to this is: The Anthos Republic or where ever this man springs from is hardly the 'galaxy'?

That the Hapans have charged the man, I at least can understand.

The man is, after all, family and there is no feud like a family feud.

But the Empire represents the largest stable population in the galaxy so if anyone has a right to lay claim to galactic opinions and standards, it would be the us."

Kaine's voice became ironic. "The Empire also has warrants out for any number of insurgents that have hurt our citizens: Leia Organa Solo, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Xylon Hexyra, Gash Jiren, Lando Calrissian. I dare say that these people are wanted on more worlds
than Darksword is. I see no editorial comment about these seditionists and traitors."

Simon Kaine smiled slightly, softening his expression. "I believe Commodore Gevel's words were..'I'm pretty sure there's a price on my head in the Coalition, but that doesn't make me a @#%$ criminal'."

There were chuckles at that.

Yet a sobering hand went up. "Sir, what about the claim Snid makes of terrorist action on Naboo?"

Some reporters responded harshly to the questioner for interupting the rather good mood that had been present yet Kaine held out a patient hand.

"Let me ask you this? If a group of Coalition civilians decided to claim that the Mon Calamarians were evil and violently took a city or two on their planet, how do you think their government would act?"

The reporter scratched his head. "They would stamp it out.."

"Exactly! And so when the Empire does the same thing, WE get blamed for it, being called 'evil'?"

If Mr. Snid believes that the goal of whatever action on Naboo that took place was the genocidal destruction of.. these.. Gungans, he called them? (I assume these are the indiginous creatures of the planet), then, due to Military Classification and Confidentiality, I cannot refute him.

I only offer this hypothetical.."

Kaine became serious, "If an Imperator Star Destroyer attacked a Mon Calamari Cruiser, all the 'independent investigative agencies' and testimonies from the Mon Calamarian Captain and crew prove is that the Mon Calamari Cruiser was attacked!

Nothing more!

Mr. Snid is trying to determine motive and intent from facts and he cannot do that correctly by only hearing one side of the story."

Kaine grinned. "There is no money in objectivity unfortunately, only sensation. That is why we do not see editorialized condemnation of Han Solo or Luke Skywalker or any of those mentioned before. There is no news or money in editorializing failed revolutionaries and failed Jedi degenerates."

Kaine started chuckling, "So while I will disagree with John Snid's comments and I mean no disrespect to the Governor of Corellia, I do not fault Mr. Snid for attempting to make a buck."

The audience followed suit chuckling and Kaine allowed it for a while before bringing the discussion back to the original topic.

"Those outside the Imperial shield live in fear!

So much so that they are banding together and attempting to justify their threats."

Another question, "Marshall, this Coalition's leader's speech seems to refer to the Imperial attack on Kamino as motivation.."

Kaine interrupted. "Ahh, Kamino. The Empire remembers Kamino well. They supplied the Empire with it's very first Grand Army of the Republic and with it, we defended everything the Republic and it's transcendental incarnation into the Empire.

The planet is held dear to us in our histories."

The Marshall's eyes then blazed, "The Mon Calamarians decided to control the planet and their conquest of Kamino was both bloody and tragic. Naturally, they slaughtered any who opposed their conquest and soon began to make the Kamino people into servants! Servants on their own planet! Whole sections of the planet were carved out for the Mon Calamarians and their allies. They built a city in the fashion of Mon Calamari but what is even more insidious is that
slowly they were making Kamino over in their image. Already they were transporting their wildlife to the planet disrupting the planet's delicately balanced ecosystem.

All in all, genocide of an indirect sort."

The silence was deafening and Simon let loose.

"SO, OF COURSE, WE BLOODY WELL STEPPED IN! Commodore Gevel was given the directive to liberate the planet and he faithfully carried out the charge! The Man even rooted out the Calamarian treachery after control of the planet shifted to the Empire. Unfortunately, the infrastructure of Kamino was so damaged that the
world could not self govern. The Imperial Reclamation Act provides for aid to being sent to worlds under Imperial control for the rebuilding and reconstruction of Kamino."

Kaine's eyes lost their fury and he sighed.

"The destruction this decades long Civil War has wrought is beyond calculation.

What people do not understand though is just because the Empire lost Coruscant and then recaptured it, the Civil War is NOT somehow over!

A common fallacy out there is that the Imperial Civil War has finished!

The Empire was one solid entity and was laid low by a Civil War brought about by terrorists and seditionists. These revolutionaries sowed corruption and rebellion on many Imperial worlds and in the end their ideology could not bind them. Anarchy and tiny planetary warlords sprang up.

The Empire was not destroyed and through the hard work of it's citizens it has reclaimed much.

We have finally, after many years, broken the back of the revolutionaries with our recapture of Imperial Center!

But what of the planets that the rebels corrupted and coerced to break from the Empire but could not hold?

The Empire holds a responsibility to them.

A responsibility that it does not take lightly!"

Simon Kaine looked out over the audience.

"We will rebuild this galaxy to its former glory.

With that goal, we will not issue a threat of our own in response.

Representing a culture advanced as we are, there is no need too."

Kaine smiled one last time.

"You see, one teaching found in nearly all religions of this galaxy is that good will conquer the evil. That 'right' and 'justice' will always win.

And therein lies my arguement and our greatest justification.

WE ARE STILL HERE!

WE HAVE WON!

By extension then, the Empire is just!

And, by extension, the Empire...

...above all,

...is RIGHT!"

The Grand Marshall left the podium amid much applause.

<div style="font-size:15px; font-weight:bold;">Grand Marshall Kain - Disillusioned</div> – Syndicated Opinion by John Snid

<div style="text-align:justify; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; width:90%;">

... So I told her, one can hardly be expected to enjoy raw fish with a red Corillian ale, I prefer the white Vorax rum with fish.

End of story.

Well, well, well, imagine my surprise upon coming out of the Vorax deserts on vacation to see that, and I'm sure you've already seen it, the two editorials I wrote concerning the Corillain Procurate and possible connections with Lupercus Darksward are being read by Imperial High Command!

Yes, sir, I have traveled up the rungs considerably. In a press release a few weeks back Grand Marshall Simon Kain mentioned me, and my articles quite extensively. It was a true shock to see the amount of time he dedicated to replying to my questions out of his short interview. The syndicate tells me readership has tripled since this mention, something I can hardly complain about, really.

I did, however, note a few ... odd ... things in the Marshall's speech. I will highlight them below, and then (as usual) give my commentary. (Please note, because of size constraints I'll have to remove many juicy comments I could have made.)

<div style=" font-size: 10px; padding: 4px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; background-color: rgb(241, 241, 241); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: justify;"> "First, I have glanced briefly at John Snid's comments and I do note that he confused the New Order with the New Empire."</div>

Oh, well excuse me for not knowing the flavor of the day. This is what, the third, fourth name change the Empire has undergone in the last fifty years? Can't these people make up their minds?

<div style=" font-size: 10px; padding: 4px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; background-color: rgb(241, 241, 241); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: justify;"> "The Empire is for religious freedom for everyone. Human and alien like.</div>

Couldn't resist putting in that cut toward non-humans, could you Marshall? It's well known that the Empire is very anti-'alien', but to outright support specie-ism is a shocking thing wherever you see it. I'm sure it would have been much easer to simply stop at the 'everyone'. But no, we must add the 'human and alien alike' at the end. Lumping the millions of other sentient species in the galaxy into one word is highly offensive. You must have forgotten, Marshall, that to the rest of the galaxy it is the human who is the alien, the intruder, and the corruptor.

<div style=" font-size: 10px; padding: 4px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; background-color: rgb(241, 241, 241); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: justify;"> When order was brought back to the galaxy, it was Jedi who stood in defiance."</div>

Ahem. Don't dissolution yourself there, Mr. Marshall. If the Empire ever brought peace, the galaxy must have blinked because no one saw it.

With every incarnation, the Empire has sought to wipe out whole races of sentient beings, they have invaded independent governments, crushed star systems that just wanted to be left alone, destroyed entire planets with their weapons of terror, and in general left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

And the method of how the Empire came about isn't too pretty either. You complain that other, less 'legitimate' governments oppose you? That you have broken the backs of the Revolutionaries? Guess what buckaroo, the Empire is the most bastardly child of them all. Lead by an insane Senate leader who used the unfortunate Separatist movement to greedily grab power, the Empire usurped the Old Republic as it slowly died, and forcibly took the reigns of control. Crushing any and all opposition, even to the point of becoming a complete dictatorship with the dissolving of the senate, the Empire is the last government to be called 'Ledgitimate'.

I'm surprised at you Marshall, that you could not know the history of your own government. If anything, it is the Empire that is a revolutionary, the illegitimate offspring of a madman.

<div style=" font-size: 10px; padding: 4px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; background-color: rgb(241, 241, 241); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: justify;">"The article also spoke of Lupercus Darksword being one of the most wanted man in the galaxy! My response to this is: The Anthos Republic or where ever this man springs from is hardly the 'galaxy'? That the Hapans have charged the man, I at least can understand. The man is, after all, family and there is no feud like a family feud."</div>

Thanks for the compliment, but I'm only a published author, not a representative of any government. I do believe I have circulation within the Anthos Republic, yet I don't spring from there, as you assume.

And, it is a gross under-assumption to assume that it is only the Hapens who have charged Lupercus Darksword with crimes. Currently, the man is wanted by every known galactic government but the Empire, and two small fringe mining organizations that no one pays attention to anyhow.

His [Lupercus'] alleged actions range from raping the women of an entire world, one at a time (highly unlikely, imagine the SDT's the man would get) to committing genocide in several places. Naboo is one of those places.

In fact, every common crime any true government has a law for this man has a warrant out on his head for. Again, I must question the reliability of the Imperial data-system. That the Grand Marshall could step out onto a podium with such an ill-prepared and ignorant response to a question he probably knew was coming shows how poor the speechwriters, and data-analysts are these days. So hard to get good help...

Marshall, give the boys in the IT department a call, the data-stream is kinked!

<div style=" font-size: 10px; padding: 4px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; background-color: rgb(241, 241, 241); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: justify;"> "The Empire also has warrants out for any number of insurgents that have hurt our citizens: Leia Organa Solo, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Xylon Hexyra, Gash Jiren, Lando Calrissian. I dare say that these people are wanted on more worlds than Darksword is. I see no editorial comment about these seditionists and traitors."</div>

Old news! Ironically enough, Darksword is wanted on more worlds than all those mentioned above...combined.

I have written editorials in the past concerning the aforementioned people, but as I said, they're old news. Current hot topic would be this topic we are on now, and the declaration of war by the Galactic Coalition against the Empire. Surly you don't expect me to comment on news years old, when stuff like this is happening?

<div style=" font-size: 10px; padding: 4px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; background-color: rgb(241, 241, 241); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: justify;"> "I believe Commodore Gevel's words were..'I'm pretty sure there's a price on my head in the Coalition, but that doesn't make me a @#%$ criminal'."</div>

I'm not sure where you studied your law Mr. Marshall, but, actually, it does make you a criminal. Of course, that depends on your standards. If your standards include the acceptance of mass murder and genocide, then having a warrant out on your head for those two things wouldn't make you a criminal... at least, not in your own eyes. But in the eyes of others, it does.

<div style=" font-size: 10px; padding: 4px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; background-color: rgb(241, 241, 241); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: justify;"> "If an Imperator Star Destroyer attacked a Mon Calamari Cruiser, all the 'independent investigative agencies' and testimonies from the Mon Calamarian Captain and crew prove is that the Mon Calamari Cruiser was attacked! Nothing more! Mr. Snid is trying to determine motive and intent from facts and he cannot do that correctly by only hearing one side of the story."</div>

Unfortunately for you, that is quite incorrect. It is quite easy, in most cases, to determine intent simply by examining the evidence available at the scene. Explosives experts have examined the positioning, power, and all that other stuff they look at of the explosives placed in the Gungan underwater cities, and it has been determined that they were placed with the intention of rupturing the membrane that keeps the Gungan people alive. If that isn't proof of intent, then finding you stabbed through the heart with a lightsabre isn't proof of an assault.

And, Mr. Marshall, how do you propose I get the other side of the story? Find the cult that attacked Naboo and ask them for a first hand account? Please.

<div style=" font-size: 10px; padding: 4px; margin-left: 50px; margin-right: 50px; background-color: rgb(241, 241, 241); color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-align: justify;"> "You see, one teaching found in nearly all religions of this galaxy is that good will conquer the evil. That 'right' and 'justice' will always win.
And therein lies my arguement and our greatest justification. WE ARE STILL HERE! WE HAVE WON! By extension then, the Empire is just! And, by extension, the Empire... ...above all, ...is RIGHT!"</div>

I don't quite know what to say to that, Marshall. You just used the ends to justify the means. When a government is plagued by constant war, rebellion, secession, desertment, and its only response is to build big weapons and go blow the crap out of everything in sight, something is desperately wrong with said government.

The Empire is constantly, let me say that again, constantly revolution ridden. Yet, in the past decades, their only response to revolution has been to use the iron fist approach.

Kill them all.

Never has the Empire attempted to solve the problem on a diplomatic level, never has the Empire sought to change its elitist, species-ist policies in an attempt to help the worlds, and cultures it has ruthlessly absorbed, never has the Empire given any thought to the people groups of said cultures.

I find your excuses sadly lacking, the brainwashed populace may cheer for the camera, but what about the ones off the camera?

Hmm?

What the heck is a Grand Marshall, anyway?

Ok folks, this article has been long (mostly due to the response above), and it could have been longer. However, the syndicate doesn't like me sending them books, so that's all for now. Next ish, expect a complete cut against the Galactic Coalition, and their incredibly brain-dead Propaganda Machine!

Press Release from the office of Theren Gevel:

As you may know, citizens of the Empire, a certain John Snid has recently become a favourite target of mine. In fact, I enjoy John's articles almost more than that of any other author in the galaxy -- they are superb pieces of fiction from a superbly unqualified man.

Instead of a complete deconstruction, I think I'll just pick a few of my favourites.

Old news! Ironically enough, Darksword is wanted on more worlds than all those mentioned above...combined.
That's a very interesting assertion. However, I would note that while the worlds Darksword is wanted on -- counting the Anthos Republic, the Hapan Consortium, and all allies of the Galactic Coalition, as I can only assume that they're gullible enough to be conned by this sort of asinine idiocy -- do not even number one-hundred, the size of the Empire before the Wrath Virus numbered over one-thousand worlds, and many of them retain the pro-Imperial governors they did previous to that great tragedy -- meaning many retain the bounties and charges that the Empire instituted while controlling them. I would furthermore note that many of the worlds you speak of are nothing more than bare-bones outposts with populations under two-hundred thousand.

Oh, well excuse me for not knowing the flavor of the day. This is what, the third, fourth name change the Empire has undergone in the last fifty years? Can't these people make up their minds?
It's hard to believe that another member of my species can actually be this startlingly, mind-numbingly stupid. I suppose that our John Snid sat under a rock during the period of absolute terror and chaos that comprised the genocidal destruction wreaked by Tilaric Brel and the 'New Empire'? Is it really possible for one human being to possess so little intellect -- and if this rogue sentence doesn't indicate ignorance, but indifference, so little tact? Tens of billions lost their lives to the Wrath Virus. You are either very callous, or very stupid, Snid.

Currently, the man is wanted by every known galactic government but the Empire, and two small fringe mining organizations that no one pays attention to anyhow.
An extremely false statement. I wish I was making these things up.

His [Lupercus'] alleged actions range from raping the women of an entire world, one at a time (highly unlikely, imagine the SDT's the man would get) to committing genocide in several places. Naboo is one of those places.
That is nothing more or less than pure lible. To lay such abominable accusations as those above with so little proof is dispicable. To begin with, your first accusation is so ridiculous that merely including it in your writing proves that you write a petty, low-minded gossip collumn and little else. Assuming a planet had 40,000,000 inhabitants (a low estimate), and 20,000,000 were women, it would take Darksword a minimum of one-hundred years to commit such a gross act. That is just stupid. I think that this accusation alone goes to demonstrate the liklihood of the others being true. I am also unsure as to what an SDT is. Possibly something similar to an STD, but then, I never liked biology very much.

And finally:

Disillusioned
Procurate
dissolution
Ledgitimate
under-assumption
Hapens
SDT's
Surly
Kain
A dictionary is a highly advisable tool for writers, Mr. Snid. One or two spelling errors is understandable. But your constant lack of any grammatical sense whatsoever is growing absurd. Are you a writer, or a member of a school holopaper? You call the Corellian Protectorate the Corellian Procurate, the Hapans the Hapens, STDs SDT's, and Simon Kaine, possibly the most prominent figure in the galaxy next to the Regent himself, Simon Kain, more than once! Disillusioned means to become disenchanted and cynical! How could a person possibly disband themselves (as the word "dissolution" implies)?

How can you possibly call anyone ignorant or stupid when you yourself seemingly cannot string together a sentence without floundering factually and grammatically? When you cannot even recall the name of the faction which spawned the single most influential event in recent galactic history in which billions died? How can you even call yourself a writer, John Snid, when you are in fact little more than a rumor-mongering windbag with many words and few thoughts behind them?

Press Release (From the office of President Griff of the Outer-Rim Sovereignty, Bakura)

I have read the interesting articles presented by both John Snid and Theren Gevel. I must say this has been profoundly amusing, to a great extent.

But I wonder, does Commodore Theren Gevel supposed 'Govenor' and ruler of this "Bastion Conclave" have anything better to do than to trash virtually unknown writers from unknown governments? Is this really what he does with his time? Sit in some dark hole and read countless articles written by millions of writers for any mention of his name? Or does he have a team of 'specialists' working for him doing that very same thing?

Simple idiocy.

Instead of delivering worthwhile statemeants that could have a positive effect on this John Snid, perhaps pursuade him to discontinue his publication, or even stop badmouthing the Commodore, Gevel tastelessly berates the writer.

Yet another reason why the Empire is ineffectual.

I find it highly offensive to me that the ruler of the Bastion Conclave found sufficient reason to point out the grammatical errors made by Snid. What good is that? What benefit could come out of that?

I find you immature, Gevel (yet highly ammusing). How you made it up as far as ruling your own little piece of the Empire is beyond me. It certainly isn't your people skills.

<font size=4>Anti-Imperial 'trash' continues
Outer-Rim Soveriegnity, a party supposadly on good terms with the Empire, offers support for Coalition</font>

In the wake of the Coalition's announcement regarding their decleration of war on the New Order, a number of parties have weighed into the fight, including several members of the Imperial Command and hundreds of sources that claim to be 'independent'.

One such source is the Outer-Rim Soveriegnity, a self-established government that was once on good terms with the Empire, having participated in several business ventures with them.

President Griff, the self-styled leader of the Soveriegnity (which was born from the mysterious Black Hand, which in turn was born from the Outer-Rim Federation, all under the same leader), addressed a public statement to Commodore Theren Gevel, of the Bastion Conclave, in which he said, "does Commodore Theren Gevel supposed 'Govenor' and ruler of this 'Bastion Conclave' have anything better to do than to trash virtually unknown writers from unknown governments." He was referring, of course, to syndicated columnist John Snid, who has generated much controversy in the last week.

Griff, as a trading partner with the Empire, undoubtadbly knows much about the political and geographical makeup of Imperial space, and makes a show of his own ignorance in 'supposing' that Theren Gevel is indeed a Governor.

The ORS President also said "Gevel tastelessly berates the writer [Snid]." Griff so slyly leaves out the fact that his entire multi-million credit Press Release, presented in full holo, did nothing more than berate Gevel and the New Order that he serves.

Griff closed by saying that he finds Commodore Gevel "immature" and wonders how he ended up in a position of power within the Empire. Theren Gevel, as many know, succesfully liberated more than a dozen Star Systems, including the Senex Sector, Kamino, and the worlds of N'zoth and J't'ptan.

Perhaps if 'President' Griff continues his anti-Imperial stance, he will learn how and why Theren Gevel is one of the most powerful men in the Empire.

Press Release from the office of Theren Gevel:

President Griff, interestingly, seems to have shifted his views considerably in recent weeks, from a progressive member of modern galactic society, willing to co-operate with the Imperial agenda (as was evident in the recent trade of worlds which took place between the Empire and the Outer Rim Sovereignty), to a rebel sympathizer.

He also seems to have shifted himself to the level of a certain gossip collumnist I have taken the liberty of discrediting in recent press releases. I will examine the falsity of Griff's writings for the benefit of my Imperial audience.

Do I have nothing better to do than refute absolutely ridiculous slander and lible brought to bear against a prominent member of the Empire? No, in fact, I do not. Perhaps it has not occured to President Griff, in all his wisdom, that vitally important trade and investment markets residing on worlds controlled by the Corellian Protectorate are liable to swing and fluctuate based on the mere mention of that region's head of state being unfit for leadership? Millions, if not billions, make their livings on those markets, and billions more are effected by their every movement. The result of slander against Lupercus Darksword gaining considerable attention without being sufficiently refuted could be devastating. I would, also, hardly call Snid an "unknown" author; his comments have gained widespread syndication and were included in the recent press conference of Simon Kaine, Grand Marshall and head of the Imperial Armed Forces!

Instead of delivering worthwhile statemeants that could have a positive effect on this John Snid, perhaps pursuade him to discontinue his publication, or even stop badmouthing the Commodore, Gevel tastelessly berates the writer.
Perhaps you should take the time to read Snid's comments yourself; in his most recent piece, I am mentioned only in a passing quote. I was, in fact, defending the honorable Governor Lupercus Darksword from the disgusting, untrue accusations put forth by Snid. John Snid accused the Governor of the Corellian Protectorate of multiple acts of genocide and of mass-rape. Was I supposed to reply to this with positive, constructive comments? This is not grade school. The Empire does not handle those who publish such drivel with kid gloves.

I find it highly offensive to me that the ruler of the Bastion Conclave found sufficient reason to point out the grammatical errors made by Snid. What good is that? What benefit could come out of that?
The good that could do is to present one more assurance to the good citizens of the Empire that John Snid is nothing more than a tabloid collumnist with galactic recognition; a cheap person whose horrendous accusations against Lupercus Darksword should not sully their opinion of that honorable man.

I find you immature, Gevel (yet highly ammusing).
Interesting. Though you make no comment on the fact that John Snid belittled an incident which took the lives of billions and accused Governor Darksword of, quote, "raping the women of an entire world", and promptly followed this up with a note of, "highly unlikely, imagine the SDT's the man would get". If refuting claims which could cost Imperial businessmen billions of credits and thus indirectly put hundreds of thousands (if not millions) out of work is immature, then sir, I am the sovereign king of immaturity.

How you made it up as far as ruling your own little piece of the Empire is beyond me. It certainly isn't your people skills.
No, it most certainly wasn't.
