Tholatin Withdraws From War
Prince Vondiranach has had enough
By: Jerik Somir in conjunction with Prince Vondiranach

It is a great day to be an Imperial. Yes this is true and even though the Prince of Tholatin does not like these people that used to rule the galaxies under an iron fist he is willing to talk to them. To him, this war has gone on far too long and is getting to the point where it is far from necessary. The damages done to both sides are pointless as it is getting them nowhere.

“We’re tired of the war with the Empire. As such, we’re withdrawing and offer a pact to cease hostilities towards the Empire. We did attack them at Carida and failed. A failure on my part which I assure will never happen again. As a gesture of good faith for the fighters destroyed at Carida we will be donating five Corellian Gunships to them. We also formally apologize for the damages done at Carida.”

Also to emphasize the point of their wanting to withdraw, TTR has offered the statistical information to the Neron-class Xyto Cruiser to the Empire. The Neron is a new frontline warship that was developed by the Republic to supplement the forces around the Republic’s planets. TNO attempted to get the statistical information for a new sensor, on loan to the Republic from the Outer Rim Sovereignty, but were denied in their request.

“I made a promise to the Sovereignty not to let the sensor in question fall into Imperial hands. The system is very secret and how they knew about it no one knows. But I assure the Sovereignty that the Empire will not get it.”

Some would question why the Empire would agree to a truce with the recent atrocity at Fondor. If you had not heard, TTR forces joined with a few fighters from the Sovereignty to assault and destroy yards at Fondor. The only problem was that the yards mentioned were civilian yards, not military ones. The Admiral in charge at Fondor failed to cease the operation upon realization of this and went through with the attack.

“Admiral Corona was arrested upon her return to the Republic from the planet Fondor. The ships she was in charge of are currently at an undisclosed location near Fondor. News of what happened reached us before she returned and we immediately placed her in prison. Her trial was held only a few days ago and she was sentenced to a twenty-year prison sentence by the Senate. She has also been formally fired by the Republic.

“We renounce the attacks on the civilian yards at Fondor by ORS forces as well. The commander in charge of their forces should have been smart enough to realize that the yards were not military and as such they should not have attacked. Their withdrawal from Fondor should have been immediate. We request the commander in charge be arrested and fired.”

But that is not all the Prince was asked to do. He was told to renounce the war as a whole. He rejected that part of the truce however as he cannot verbally attack anyone for doing what they felt was right. Especially since he agreed with them and still does. TTR just does not fit into the scheme of things and it is pointless for them to continue. That is why TTR has opted to drop out of the war.

You might be asking yourself what TTR is getting out of this deal. I thought the same thing at first. I mean, they get out of the war and an agreement is made by both parties to not attack each other, but what else do they get? The Prince had one final thing to say.

“I make only two demands. One, that we are offered some sort of recompense for the ships lost while we were fleeing Carida as the Empire pursued them even on the retreat when only a scant few ships, and the smaller ones at that, were left. And two, an apology for not attempting to save any personnel aboard escape pods at Carida. When something is done about these we formally drop out of the war and all hostilities are dropped between us ant the Empire for now.”

There you have it folks. The Republic is out of the war against the Empire. Until next time, I’m Jerik Somir. Good night.
