Jutraal
During the recent blockade of the Commenor system and the destruction of an unarmed merchant vessel attempting to leave the system - consequencing in the death of approximately thirty-five - the Jutraalian Empire has begun a thorough investigation of the entire ordeal.
Several key members from the Tholatin Republic have already been investigated and interviewed, most of which dub this as a "freak accident".
"How were we supposed to know there would be a design flaw in a merchant vessel? I mean we've been using interdictors to pull things like X-Wings and even Corellian Freighters from hyperspace for almost thirty years...what would make now any different?" commented Chief Warrant Officer Garles, aboard one of the Interdictors that surrounded Commenor.
Emperor Fearsons has expressed his deepest sympathy for the loss of the lives aboard the craft, and has ordered a full investigation of IDTech ships, thus ordering a sovereign recall thereof.
When asked, the Palpable Constable responded by saying, "The Jutraalian Empire has sat around and watched things like this happen time and time again. If civilians are going to get caught in the crossfire because of accidents we need to figure out how to prevent these accidents."
Emperor Fearsons, despite his busy agenda, also commented.
"As much as I regret the loss of this cruiser, I must question the validity of Raktus's claims. I find it interesting that everytime someone opposes him, there is a major design flaw in his ship, a freak accident occurs, and innocents die. Mere coincidence? I truly hope so," he said.
He also told reporters that a "full investigation" is under way, and that IDTech ships are now being recalled to Jutraalian ports for inspection before being returned should nothing be found wrong with their design.
"Ships don't just blow up like that," Aif Cree, port master of the Jutraalian Shipyards, commented. "I've built hundreds in my day, and I've seen some go down...and they aren't supposed to like that."
When asked to comment on the propaganda war between LFX Industrial and the Tholatin Drive Yards, Emperor Fearsons responded with:
"They need to seriously grow up. They're throwing accusations at one another as easily as Doalian Herder Monkies throw their own fesces at each other. That's all this is, neither side is winning support either way. Who wants to live under someone who refuses to send out a rescue team to recover his own people and then fires on peacekeepers trying to find terrorists? Then again, who wants to live under someone who cannot accept responsibility for their actions."
General Dwight, commandant of the Jutraalian Marine Corps, also stated that Jutraalian troops are "on the move", and that LFX Industrial has gone too far in targetting and destroying Tholatin craft without provocation.
"A freak accident is no excuse for war. LFX Industrial has now brought it on themselves," he said. Though Emperor Fearsons denies that a war is imminent.
"Negotiations will be the key," he said.
