IDTech Ships Under Investigation

Jutraal

During the recent blockade of the Commenor system and the destruction of an unarmed merchant vessel attempting to leave the system - consequencing in the death of approximately thirty-five - the Jutraalian Empire has begun a thorough investigation of the entire ordeal.

Several key members from the Tholatin Republic have already been investigated and interviewed, most of which dub this as a "freak accident".

"How were we supposed to know there would be a design flaw in a merchant vessel? I mean we've been using interdictors to pull things like X-Wings and even Corellian Freighters from hyperspace for almost thirty years...what would make now any different?" commented Chief Warrant Officer Garles, aboard one of the Interdictors that surrounded Commenor.

Emperor Fearsons has expressed his deepest sympathy for the loss of the lives aboard the craft, and has ordered a full investigation of IDTech ships, thus ordering a sovereign recall thereof.

When asked, the Palpable Constable responded by saying, "The Jutraalian Empire has sat around and watched things like this happen time and time again. If civilians are going to get caught in the crossfire because of accidents we need to figure out how to prevent these accidents."

Emperor Fearsons, despite his busy agenda, also commented.

"As much as I regret the loss of this cruiser, I must question the validity of Raktus's claims. I find it interesting that everytime someone opposes him, there is a major design flaw in his ship, a freak accident occurs, and innocents die. Mere coincidence? I truly hope so," he said.

He also told reporters that a "full investigation" is under way, and that IDTech ships are now being recalled to Jutraalian ports for inspection before being returned should nothing be found wrong with their design.

"Ships don't just blow up like that," Aif Cree, port master of the Jutraalian Shipyards, commented. "I've built hundreds in my day, and I've seen some go down...and they aren't supposed to like that."

When asked to comment on the propaganda war between LFX Industrial and the Tholatin Drive Yards, Emperor Fearsons responded with:

"They need to seriously grow up. They're throwing accusations at one another as easily as Doalian Herder Monkies throw their own fesces at each other. That's all this is, neither side is winning support either way. Who wants to live under someone who refuses to send out a rescue team to recover his own people and then fires on peacekeepers trying to find terrorists? Then again, who wants to live under someone who cannot accept responsibility for their actions."

General Dwight, commandant of the Jutraalian Marine Corps, also stated that Jutraalian troops are "on the move", and that LFX Industrial has gone too far in targetting and destroying Tholatin craft without provocation.

"A freak accident is no excuse for war. LFX Industrial has now brought it on themselves," he said. Though Emperor Fearsons denies that a war is imminent.

"Negotiations will be the key," he said.

"Need the Holy Demosthesian Empire comment on Emperor Fearsons' comments? Anyone with any sense can see the burning rage that lingers in his eyes due to the failure of the self-proclaimed Prince's blockade.

"While denying a war is 'imminent' he confirms that Jutraalian troops are 'on the move' and that LFX Industrial has 'gone to far' in defending their sovereign space.

"I am more than sure that if Chaddwick Fearsons had ships entering his space in such a manner, he would destroy them without question. And I am more than sure that Chadd Fearsons uses LFX Industrial's defence as an excuse to launch a war against a Corporation. His intention: to secure valuable stores of Tibanna Gas and Bacta with which to manipulate the galaxy.

"He has done so before, attempting (and failing) to deny Tibanna Gas to anyone whose name was not written on his short list of friends before and during his war with the New Order. This practice would go on until Cryonics Industires liberated Bespin from the clutches of Fearsosn' oppressive regime and restored a flow of Tibanna to everyone, save for CI's own personal enemies.

"Even during the Imperial war against the Galactic Defence Initiative, where CI would be assumed to serve under the New Order, Bacta and Tibanna continued to flow to the GDI. Certainly, it was a move motivated by greed, but even that speaks better of CI than Fearsons' actions do of the Jutraalian Empire.

"LFX Industrial made several, public requests for the Tholatin Republic to remove themselves from their space. Instead, the Prince pushed ships further into LFX space, and was met with resistance.

"The Emperor may use propaganda to claim that the destruction of a few Tholatin starfighters was 'unjustified' and "'unprovoked'... but luckily for you and me, the rest of the galaxy is smarter than that.

"Let this be made clear: the Holy Demosthesian Empire will not stand for the invasion or interference with a neutral Corporation or their sovereign space. Any further incursion into LFX Industrial space by the Jutraalian or Tholatin Empires will be met with swift and lethal resistance."

Perhaps it should be noted that while some officers may spread gossip, these are not the words of the emperor himself and are not law.

Perhaps also Domesthian forces should stop attempting to tell people what they should be thinking and slander out propaganda and accusations when in actuality the Jutraalian Empire has only, in effect, attempted to open negotiations to cease hostilities and find out how to stop more people from dying unnecessarily in accidents.

Would LFX Industrial and the Holy Domesthian Empire prefer otherwise?

The Military Spacelane Technology Program

In response to Jultralian inquiries into IDTech shipping technologies and shiping standards, the MSTP has agreed to cooperate fully with any TJE officals in their investigation. Such a design flaw was only discovered under these circumstances, as this recent vessel design was never tested under blockade conditions. Indeed it was never ment to encounter wartime situations. Our own teams have already begun to mothball each such shiptype until a fixable solution can be reached, but until such time IDTech legal department will still be filing claims against TTR for its hostile actions and reprecutions.

The Jutraalian Empire will accept an appeal of hearing on Jutraal to file the lawsuit, and it appreciates the IDTech's willingess to assist in such a tragic loss of life.

The Tholatin Naval Department shall issue one advocate as shall IDTech to Jutraal to address a tribunal for the issue of trial and compensation.

Until such a time as such an appointment can be done Jutraalian warships shall monitor both IDTech - those that have been certified as "safe" - and Tholatin with great prejudice.
