The holonet momentarily wavered as unused IDTech transmitters came back to life across known space, using backup power to overide civilian and goverment frequancies for its breaking newscast. The wavering stoped as the spining logo of the ball wrapped snake spun across the net before the face of the reporter came to bare.

"Shocking news today from the upper echlons of the IDTech hierarchy, The CEO's seat is switching hands for the first time since its conception. Heir Raktus is reported to have choosen a sutible replacement earlier last year and has finally been indoctrinated into IDTech standards and practices...

"Sorry folks, word has just come down the line... Jamo Jakatta, of Jakatta Corp is to be named the new CEO of IDTech. Were getting live feed from the offices of Heir Raktus folks, hold on while we connect to this briefing already in process..."

"...fear, I will still be supervising IDTech activities from my home on Daemo, but as for the day to day, year to year operations of IDTech I assure all my prized stockholders, Jamo is most assuredly my top choice to lead this company into a brighter tommorow."

"...You heard it hear first, IDTech to change hands for the first time ever. We now bring you back to your scheduled programing..."

Special report, by Parker Proctor

You may recall some weeks ago the escape of wanted criminal Suurot Jakatta – known to many in the world of underground crime as Jamo Jakatta. With the help of unknown accomplices, Jakatta broke free of his solitary confinement in the ‘White Glades’ hospital on Coruscant. His imprisonment two years ago came about as a result of a severe decline in mental health, resulting in his inevitable capture by Coruscant security forces. Many were more than pleased to see the felon finally behind bars. It is no surprise, then, that there is all-round shock at today’s press release from the company ‘IDTech’.

After months of eluding capture, no doubt thanks to his shadow benefactor, who we now believe to be none other than Heir Raktus, it has been announced that Jakatta has been given the position of CEO – figure head – of the company. Jakatta, as you may well know, has experience heading his own corporation, which disbanded shortly after his imprisonment, although many would argue that this is far from a smart move.

A proponent of anti-government sentiment, terrorism and activities of highly illegal caliber through all of his life, Jakatta has long been a target of anger from many political parties. There’s no doubt that some will be left with bitter tastes in their mouths from this revelation, but what effect will such a change have on inter-faction relationships? Was this a wise choice on the part of the IDTech ownership? Some would argue that reputation alone is enough to damage – or perhaps boost – business for IDTech in the future. Only time will tell.
