A Growing Threat

In a not-so-shocking turn of events, the conflict above Mon Calamari has turned into an all-out war between more than half a dozen galactic factions.

Reports of fleets deployed at Ando, Ord Mantell, and Anobis are not circulating, and it appears that Anobis defence forces have called for reinforcements, though this rumour is unsubstaniated.

Neutral parties still refuse to stake a claim in this growing conflict, though a spokesman of LFX Industrial has implored that the Sovereign Chiss Empire not resort to using chemical or biological weapons against their enemies. Several reports of unidentified warships entering both Mon Calamari Republic and Chiss Imperial space have been logged, and it appears as though Coalition ships have moved to defend Ando (an MCR-held world) and assault Anobis (a SCE world).

It is entirely possible that an all-out war could lead to the same kind of death and destruction that followed the last war, that between the Allies and the New Empire.

Also around the galaxy, massive antiwar protests broke out against both the Chiss campagin, and the Mon Calamari/Coalition response. Some argue that Ord Mantell and Anobis are not military targets (indeed, there have been no reports of orbital shipyards located there), and as such attacking them can only lead to civilian deaths.

Pro-war demonstrations were also seen, though their numbers were far fewer than those of the antiwar demonstrators. Many of the pro-war advocates argued, however, that they were for peace, but that war had since started and it was up to the Coalition to hammer the Chiss and their allies as hard as possible and keep them from threatening genocide again.

Some protestors supported the Chiss and their incursion into Mon Calamari space.
