Battles of Titans

33 ABY, Despayre-Earlier today a press conference had been held where Emperor Fearsons had brought up several issues including that of the imminent battle at the border to Jutraalian space. He has stated that, quote, "While the Jutraalian Empire will take no active front in this battle, both navies be advised to keep this conflict far from Sluis Van, or the consequences shall be quick and immediate action to relieve you of my space."

He has stated that, while supporting a New Republic assault, he has not sanctioned it and will not grant leniency to either sides' soldiers as of yet. Battleships have been reallocated to the borders between the Jutraalian space and Galactic Defense Initiative space and the Golan Arms stations there have been apparently brought online due to the conflict.

New Republic forces entered the Galactic Defense Initiative space only a couple of hours ago, and though no shots have been fired, the two report that their negotiations have gotten intense and a Defense Condition of Yellow has been declared, just one away from open warfare.

One of the prime concerns of both the Jutraalian Empire and the New Republic are the safety concerns of the prisoners of war captured by the Defense Initiative, who have stated that officers and commanders - including Admiral Mnar himself, who is heading the operationa gainst the Defense Initiative - will be tried and executed as war criminals. Admiral Mnar responds that for every prisoner executed that will be another hundred Initiative soldiers slain.

Emperor Fearsons has indicated that any cruelty shown to prisoners by either side shall result in immediate Jutraalian intervention, proclaiming this an "act of insatiable terrorism."

A better example of the corruption that plaques the ranks of the New Republic Armed Forces there never has been. An attack, uncalled for, against a party that has until now been friendly with the Republic.

And the entire operation, it seems, on the authority of a man who has been dead for some time. Is Gash Jiren playing with our galaxy from beyond the grave? Or is this simply an example of Admiral Mnar's personal love for war and galactic dominance?

And while they threaten the lives of the soldiers of the Initiative and of the people of her worlds, one is left wondering: what place does the Jutraalian Empire have in all this?

Because, certainly, the Jutraalians knew of this attack before the leaders of the Galactic Defence Initiative. Before the New Republic warships even arrived over Eriadu, in fact.

And, it seems, they speak for the Galactic Defence Initiative. At least when regarding our Prisoner of War policies. I cannot tell you what the GDI will do with its prisoners, but I can assure you that in the past they were treated as that, POWs. It is standard procedure for those that comit crimes, outside those that they had been ordered to comit, be tried in a civilian court and punished accordingly. No death sentences have ever been dealt out. Why would the GDI change this policy now?

And all the while, the Jutraalian Empire speaks for both sides in this conflict. And so I ask you again, what place does the Jutraalian Empire have in this conflict? A Jutraalian agent among the Republic, perhaps? Or is Admiral Mnar simply a traitor to his government?

Press Release

Coruscant-The sight here has been one of calm and serenity, despite an attempt by the Galactic Defense Initiative to harbor a destructive rebellion, the long standing citizens of the New Republic have actually paid little to no attention to the rising conflict over Eriadu. While some mothers in Corellia and perhaps a few in Coruscant worry for their children who fight for the cause of freedom and democracy, they trust in the Republic's ability to bring them home.

However, due to wild allegations by the Galactic Defense Initiative, the New Republic has issued an embargo on all trade with the said faction, stating that quote, "The day we supply terrorists with merchandising is the day the New Republic caves in on itself."

This has been made in response to countless terrorist attacks made by the Galactic Defense Initiative and an attempt to extort allied factions for precious minerals and natural resources to further their war machine.

Sources from inside Thyferra indicate that Dxun Isstal - or one of his representatives - had jumped into the system, taken a battlecruiser to the planet itself, and began making demands on the Cryonics Industries there.

When Cryonics Industries would not bend, the Defense Initiative made threats on the company's standing and the persons involved there.

Similar reports come from the Empress Teta system where Admiral Drayson of the Galactic Defense Initiative threatened the Tetan Confederacy for stocks of carbonite.

The leaders of the New Republic question the sanity of Dxun Isstal, who claims that the New Republic have violated a no-fire pact, despite that fleet there has not fired a single shot, if anything having disarmed their weapons as a "sign of good faith".

However in a futile gesture to intimidate and drive away the New Republic forces there, Isstal has made countless threats and other forms of jibberish. Claiming it seems that the New Republic works on the Jutraalian Empire's payroll, he hopes to legitimize a massive attack against the New Republic, experts on Talus say.

"Admiral Mnar is a good man, been fanatical, but he's a good guy," said one off duty naval crewman who works aboard the admiral's flagship. "Stupid things like insults and threats aren't going to drive him from a battle he knows in his heart has to be fought."

Similar reports come from all about the Republic territories.

Other members indicate that while this may infact seem like a brash action, no one knows when the Initiative's attacks will cease and who will and will not be caught up in the crossfire between Isstal's lust for power, and the Republic's desire to defend herself.

Inquisitor Aryx Kiildra of the Jutraalian Empire had this to say:

"The Galactic Defense Initiative is in a corner at the moment where its allies of have seen the terror it attempts to ensue and have backed away from thus. There is no standing morals left in Commander Isstal, and after seeing thus the New Republic moved to intervene. Is this terrorism? I think not! This is rather a move of long provocated aggression in an attempt to defend Republic lives before the battle comes to Republic homes."

The Jutraalian Empire denies any assistance to the New Republic in this impending conflict, however indicates that if the propaganda does not cease and the countless threats and lies based toward the empire do not simply "disappear" as Emperor Fearsons has stated, then they shall be forced to involve themselves.

Upon asking one of the admirals of the empire why the Jutraalians would get involved over such a matter, they had this to say:

"The Galactic Defense Initiative is begging the Jutraalians to get involved. I personally don't think we should displease him."

Rather it appears the entire military wants to off and fight with the Initiative, but apparently the only thing holding them back is Emperor Fearsons's denial of permission to carry out this battle. While he desires the Initiative's collapse, he is not willing to defy an agreement that he signed for the sake of personal vendetta, nor will the higher up politicians within the Jutraalian Empire.

However, should blows come to blows it is expected that Eriadu will be the site of an intense battle between the three factions.

The no fly zone effect remains until the end of this conflict, according to Jutraalian starfighter commanders.</font>
