But it's one step on a road so long that it couldn't be walked in either of our lifetimes. Has the Empire decided to lay down their arms in their vendetta against the Republic? It is no secret that this cease-fire is quite temporary. Has Jiren laid down his desire for vengeance? How long will that war rage? How many will die because of that? How long will planets live under military rule excused by war, instead of under proper democratic-republican governments?
You see, there are so many more steps to be taken, so many more foothills and mountains to be conquered on the road to peace and freedom. It is not even in sight yet, so to celebrate this soon is folly.
To do one thing and declare your part done, declare yourself a bringer of peace and harmony, declare your responsibility fulfilled, is a ridiculous load of shit. And I think you know that, and it should be represented as such. The illusion that peace is "just around the bend" is a damn lie, and shouldn't be foisted upon the people.
