A call to the light.

The holodisplay flickers...
It's a narrow band transmission aimed at certian planets and factions of a descidedly good nature. Among those to recieve the transmission are the Mon Calamari Republic, The Azgardian Galactic Military, The Hapan Consortium, The Jedi Order and those Rogues who had split from the order so long ago.

The image lights on the face of a stern looking Bothan. His ears are pressed back against his head and his well groomed dark fur seems to glimmer in the light of a holocam. He is dressed in the uniform of a Republic Admiral, his bars and stripes marking him as a Grand Admiral. Rather, the Grand Admiral of the New Republic, Matko Ko'Vic.
His face looks grim, as if confronted with an opressive force of odds. Dark eyes slant half shut before he speaks, contemplation. Then with a sigh, he begins.

Alone we stand, and alone we will fall.

He looks downcast...

The factioning of good. The fault of the galaxy and the flaw that will find us in the bondage of evil men.

He pauses, his eyes blinking once...

There is but one thing evil needs to thrive, and that is for good souls to do nothing about it.

Slowly, the look of sadness and weight slides from his face to be replaced by a growing look of grim determination.

We will stand as one, or we will die as many. It is simple and plain.
Already, those enemies of the light, those doers' of evil...Already they form unions and stragety with one another.
Their evil grows with each passing day while those who would have freedom and peace grow weaker and come closer and closer to the jeopardy that evil brings.

He shakes his head, the furr on his neck rippling with aggrivation.

Strong arm tactics and blackmail. The weapons of dark men...
And what do we do about such things?
Nothing.
Instead we sit quietly in our corners of space and hope to be overlooked by the darkness spreading across the galaxy. We 'lay low' in the hopes that those factions of evil will not bring their might to bare on us. And in doing so we are no better then they.
Certain members among you are already feeling the opressive arm of darkness. Being forced into their will and forced to do their bidding. And still we do nothing...

Sheer rage at the situation glimmers in his eyes as lips roll back to reveal sharp pearly fangs.

Damn you all if you would allow your brothers to suffer as such. Damn you all if you do nothing about it...
But I will not let my people be condemmed to a slow death and to the subjugation that should have died with the Emperor.
So here and now, I say it will not be.
It Will Not Be!

The Bothan on the screen slams his fist upon the podium from which he speaks...

If you will not rise up as one to oppose this darkness then I will take such a stand for all of those without the will to do so for themselves.
Here and now I declare it open season on the doers of evil. Each and every one of you. From the highest in your military chain to the lowliest grunt with a blaster.
I will not stand back and wacth those who supported the Republic for so many centuries be done ill agaisnt.
Do you hear, I will not allow it!

At length, he pauses to catch his breath and regain a cool composure... Just for a glimmer of a moment the spirit of Mon Mothma and Organa Solo shines in him.

My words may cause Republic worlds to burn.
But if so then all the good in the galaxy is doomed. It is doomed if we cannot come together and form alliances based on common hopes and common dreams.

Again, he pauses just a moment.

Once, the Jedi stood as protectors of all goodness in the galaxy. Once the Jedi worked with the Republic for the goals of peace.
Once, the Mon Calamari built ships and supplied the Republic with the tools it needed to protect its' own and its' freedoms.
Once, the Hapan cluster supported the Republic in its' time of need and once the Hapan union would have joined in marrage with the Republic.
Once the good of the Republic kept the galaxy at peace and held back the tide of evil.
I say that once again, it can, and it will be.

Seeming to catch something he may have missed...

Now is the time for new allies and new treaties with those who stood with the Republic in the past and those who will stand with it now and in the future.
From the Core to the Rim.
The Galaxy deserves freedom. You deserve peace.

Finished, he offers no thanks for listening. None is due, not in the eyes of one who has seen such evil begin to run rampant... again.
The image fades from the screen to be replaced with the icon of the New Republic.

The Headlines read...

Ambitious Grand Admiral Makes Stand Against Evil

"Last evening Grand Admiral Matko Ko'Vic made a daring speech on the evils of the galaxy.
On a narrow band broadcast intended for the eyes and ears of various factions the speech had a stirring effect in the Republic. Ko'Vic was reported to have gone into private war council shortly after the speech and is still in meeting this morning. Civilians from around Corellia were shaken in their seats as Ko'Vic spoke out against The New Order, among others. It is widely rumored that such harsh words may bring the attention of the Order here.
The military is now on full alert and top aides for the Grand Admiral report that ambassadors from across the galaxy are expected within the next few days. With words of such a grand alliance it is expected that the factions against which Ko'Vic spoke will issue action of some sort.
The promises of the alliance are thought to be worth the cost/risk..."

Thanks for leaving them long enough to be saved.
