Astral Astoria...

A perfect place to spend your time and waste your money on the casino’s & bar’s of the station, but what interest would a band of mercenaries have there or to be precise their leader?

Business of course...

Such places (especially casino’s) were packed with influenced and wealthy people just the thing what Darius needed at the moment, the Mamertini needed profits to buy new weaponry and supplies. Perhaps a new ship would be useful, but first they needed an employer and the companies were the perfect employers. They mostly didn’t care about how they got what they wanted, but then they needed dirty workers and that what the mercenaries mostly were. Darius walked trough the huge corridors and passed people with his long jacket closed, he had came here without telling his men in a way. He had said that they had earned a well needed break and that place was Astral Astoria, but what he didn’t tell was that was trying to catch up a wealthy employer.

Darius gripped his credits on and moved them inside his jacket while pulled out a cigarette with his own hand; he walked past the crowd and lighted it. He took a deep relaxing breath; the first impression would be the most important thing because no one wanted nervous looking mercenaries. He continued his trip and waked into a casino; he almost bumped a man down on the way and got a bad look. He didn’t really care about being polite, Darius walked to the casino looking the big whale’s or what ever he had heard some people use about big gambler’s. He looked around and sucked the smoke in, but he was about to choke in the smoke, which caused him to cough. This might just be his lucky day....

Seth Vinda seemed to be in the building, if his eyes weren’t telling tales

Darius walked down a small stairway and sat down among some other big players; he took a deep breath and sat there quietly.

"Excuse me sir, but are you going to play?"

Darius looked at everyone at the table and took out some credits throwing them at the table.

"Well why would I be here then?"

Darius took tightened his jacket around him as he played, but his eyes were in another direction all he time. He did do well in the game, but didn’t really care for the few credits he had and besides they weren’t really his credits.

Slick would be missing some of his money tonight

The Bonadan Lounge

Taking a slight detour from checking on his business ventures onboard the station , Vinda was making the most of the perks that came with owning your own Casino.

Achinta (his bodyguard), was as usual , watching the proceedings with mild amusement...

Vinda was a gambling man, but he was a careful player, and any risk he took , was always calculated, no matter what.

This was not only a rule he took to the betting table, it was also evident in his business dealings, and of course, his personal life.

Roulette was a game of chance , and one played it wth the knowledge the odds were against you.

It was a situation Vinda had found himself in more than once...

...and he enjoyed the challenge.

That being said, tonight Vinda was in the mood for something different, he was in the mood to take a risk, and his playing on the tables reflected this...much to the consternation of his bodyguard, (who found betting against the odds far too illogical for him to even contemplate).

His intense concentration was only broken, when a stranger approached the table...

Vinda's eyes slid across to the visitor, as did the other players...

"Excuse me sir, but are you going to play?"

"Well why would I be here then?"

As the stranger joined the table and sat down , Vinda acknowledged him with a slow nod.
He took a long toke on his cigarra and, turned his attention to the Casino assistant...

" your bet Mr Vinda..."

Vinda's eyes seemed to sparkle , and he pushed a large stack of chips to the number on the table...

"sixty thousand, Red seven" ...and as he caught the stranger's gaze he pointed to the table number, and spoke

" my favourite number" (a comment directed towards the new player)

The Dealer checked the bet and the bets moved around the table, until it reached the stranger...

"...your bet.." The businessman said, and he smiled wryly...

Darius inspected Vinda with an emotionless face and a proud ness in his eyes, he looked at Achinta who was Vinda`s bodyguard, but didn’t really worry since he wasn’t here to kill Vinda. Darius looked at Vinda with a faint smile on his face as Vinda spoke, he blew a smoke could in the air and relaxed back. The casino assistant turned to him.

"...your bet.."

Darius left the cigarette in his mouth and took half as big stake of chips as Vinda, some of them was Slicks money, but most of them were the Mamertines money that they had gathered for the beginning from everyone.

"Mr. Varangi.... I’ll bet twenty thousand on the black eight.... my favourite number..."

Darius sat back dumping his cigarette with an tense look on his face, he wasn’t going to lose this game, he had some money left, but if there was more at stake than money and chips of the casino. Perhaps Vinda knew it or not, but if Darius won perhaps he would somehow earn a chance to prove his groups worthiness to mr.Vinda and gain many jobs. He looked at Vinda with concentration.

Darius could now rely on hope and luck...

OOC: I have a novel idea.

What say we flip a coin to determine who wins?

Lets see who's luck is the better tonite!...

I'll leave you to call it unless you have any objections?
