Hey Omnae, about that Curse the Darkness . . .

One slight thing, maybe two.

The Commodore Valeska clone is a "secret". There was one survivor of Estralla who isn't in any of the official reports and isn't being kept with the rest of the survivors, and that's her. She was assigned to my super-secret Force Commando group under the alias "Lorna Starfall", so the random dudes chatting about her in the last post shouldn't know about her.

The Jedi I'm bringing in is in a similar situation, connected to the Force Commando group and not the Confederation clones. Though you might not know that, since I don't think I've brought her into the thread yet.

Sorry.  I can change the Valeska reference to Starfall.  While I figured it was a secret to my side of the fence, I was not sure how secret to your own people it would have been and took a chance that (at least) the base personnel would know (security/damage control measures and all that).

I was under the impression (and maybe I read it wrong then) that Valeska clone/Lorna Starfall tried to escape during the assault and your Jedi tried to reign her in/stop her escape.   I was presuming he was successful but I figured the force-user fighting would have spilled out into the general base (at least somewhat) which would tell some that A:  one of the clones (Starfall) has force powers and B:  that there is some sort of Jedi there to keep things in line.

I may have things wrong as I am reading here that you "assigned" Starfall to your uber secret Force Commando Group FOR THEM TO LOOK/WATCH OVER HER, yes?  Not, like, be a member of.

I did not think the Jedi was a part of the Confederation clones though.

Illuminate me and I will correct my post.

Okay, so Valeska/Starfall wasn't in the "medical facility" at the time of the attack. There's a separate "secret base", nearby, that the Force commando operation is running out of. My Timothy Mauler character took a speeder from one to the other in an earlier post, and that's where he fought her, knocked her out, and detained her. She was "in the program", but not actively going out on missions, and yeah, they were look/watching over her, but with the hope of turning her full-on pro-Cooperative.

So the doctor running the facility knew about her, and maybe some other people, but even then they wouldn't know that she'd gone rogue or how that had played out, because it all went down somewhere else, under a "different" super-secret military jurisdiction thing.

Basically I tried to cram too many schemes in and confusion ensued. Imagine that.

Jeez.. a secret base on every block...    I did not realize she was in a separate facility so I will edit it out of my post since, yeah, I agree, nobody in the main facility would know what was going on back there in the other secret facility.

Well, I apparently fail at worldbuilding, but it all makes sense in my head. Basically, the facilities are built on different islands in the same archipelago, controlled by the Cooperative military. Different "zones" of the planet have been ceded to different refugee populations over time, and this is basically just one such zone that's been given to the military. It's my version of Area 51, or something.

So your military are refugees?  ;)

Yes, but your Area 51 is built next to Area 52, 53 and 54...   :b

archipelago

Every time I see that word, I think of that song, "Scales and Arpeggios" from the Aristocats.   Weird.

I think I'm going to be generally grumpy for a moment, because generalized grumpitude seems to be the only state in which I can effectively communicate at present. So here's a quote from you to kick things off:

“The clones have been in our care for quite a while.  If they were going to tell us something, we would have learned of it by now I should think."

Is that your way of telling me that I shouldn't have been so silly as to set up a perfect opportunity for one of "your guys" to tell some of "my guys" a little bit about what's going on here? I mean, I get if you want my people to stay in the dark for a little while longer, but now I'm starting to get genuinely confused by this whole thing. (Of course, that might have something to do with me taking multiple six-month-long unannounced hiatus . . . es? Hiati? Hiaties? Whatever, you get the point.)

I mean, between a shadowy cabal of futurecasting Force clones, the selective amnesia of relevant parties as required, and exploding brain implants, it's starting to feel like you like screwing with me.

And what's your problem with Guardian? Guardian is super-cool (in my head)!

Alright, I think that's enough. I'm feeling better now.

And you know what? I'm feeling so much better, I think I know what I'm doing in my next post. Forget all of this whiny nonsense; I'm going to go break something big.

Edit: and yes, ninety percent of that was an excuse so I could type "generalized grumpitude".

Wha..???

lol.. man, this is cracking me up...lol

Now you make me wish I had intended it as some subtle slap upside the head...

The comment that seems to bring out your uber-grumpernational-grumptitude was just an NPC comment.  They are just regular military and not in the "know" about what your top people really know and what they don't know.  In fact, they probably don't know much about what they don't know except for the fact that they don't know it.  And so they suppose it.   Just because "they" don't know does not mean that the Cooperative does not know.  You know?

If you go for the whole robot dominatrix control thing, then yeah, Guardian is really cool.

;)
