Take Over Of Rhen Var

The Black Dragon Empire, one of the biggest rulers of the galaxy along with the Galactic Coalition and The New Order. The empire is located at the border regions and that was where imperial inquisitor Chardoc ran to hide not knowing that he had been spotted by the empire. He was soon enough taken from his new small apartment and taken before the eyes of the people who had authority in the empire. Chardoc had still his price and stood up, but had been almost falling from the shock that he was offered a place in the empire to do what he best could besides fighting. That had been 2 years from now and at this moment Chardoc sat comfortably in his home, which was almost a villa of some sort and enjoyed his life, but soon enough more work would come. He whirled his drink in his glass, but didn’t really drink it because he thought that alcohol only destroyed men. He heard a small beep and sighed; he got up from his chair and placed the glass on a table next to the chair. The chair was warm and comfortable unlike the line of duty he had to make all tough this duty wasn’t really the inquisitor stuff, but sometimes frustrating. He walked trough a hallway and opened a door to an open space, a room that had no furniture and no joy. It was a cold and dark room, but it perfectly suited for training because only thing that you needed was space and some to train with.

Chardoc stepped into the room with his robes touching the floor and the door closing behind him, he walked to the centre of the room and took a look around; next he stood there concentrating to his surroundings. He was no jedi or sith, but he had trained his senses and hearing was one of the best that he had because even a blind man could fight only knowing what he heard. Chardoc stood there and listened to the room hearing a slight sound, but made no reactions to it letting his enemy think that he was unaware. Chardoc turned away shrugging and began walking out of the room, but suddenly a smaller figure jumped out of the shadows towards Chardoc and Chardoc blocked the punch of his apprentice, who worked as his personal assistant also.

“Now what did I teach you about assassins and their cheap tricks?”

Chardoc smiled as he dodged a punch towards his head and swept the legs under the young man who tried effortlessly to land a hit on his master, the young man jumped up continuing the attack. Chardoc was quite proud that the 18 years old apprentice had such guts knowing that Chardoc didn’t like assassins because they were cowards. Chardoc blocked a punch with his wrist and grabbed the boys other hand, he threw the boy away from him almost against the wall. Chardoc cleaned his robes slightly with an amused look on his face.

“You’ll end up like your father did, if you keep that line and don’t become a true fighter my apprentice…”

This got a new fire burning in the boy’s eyes and Chardoc knew that the boy’s father was a sensitive subject, but Chardoc never wanted to hurt or mock he boy quite the opposite actually. It worked as an encouragement to the boy and got him to try even harder. Chardoc dodged punches with a smile on his face and blocked few until he kicked the boy in the knee cap, which collapsed him and Chardoc decided to test him. Chardoc turned his back on the boy and looked at the door while the boy checked his hurt knee.

“As I was saying your father was a dirty assassin and so will you be, if you don’t take my lesson or this art seriously because it requires commitment to it not just will to learn it, but that depends on you like it did depend on me when I learned it…”

The apprentice tried to hit Chardoc in the back of his neck and Chardoc turned blocking the hit with a smile on his face, he spanned around and tried to sweep the boys legs, but he jumped up and Chardoc got up to block a series of strikes. Chardoc blocked the boys strike with a smile on his face.

“You know, if my counting head doesn’t betray me I could face crushed your throat about 3 times already…”

“Really?” The boy asked with a small smile on his face.

Chardoc shook his head quite sadly.

“No, just toying with you…”

Chardoc suddenly guided the boy’s hands up and kicked him in the knee cap continuing with a punch to the jaw only powerful enough to leave the boy on the floor. Chardoc left the room, but stopped to say few words.

“You should seriously train harder boy…”

The boy looked back with a blood coming from his mouth.

“I have a name if you recall master…”

Chardoc nodded.

“Yes, but then I wouldn’t have an apprentice anymore…”

Chardoc left the room back to his chair, but before he sat down he cursed hard because his message coming up and he hurried to his message systems where he pushed a button opening a hologram message. A figure appeared on it and began speaking.

“Inquisitor Chardoc you have been given a new mission and this time it’s the real deal, you have been charged to lead takeover of Rhen Var and we believe that you are quite skilled for the task. You are to leave immediately for the star dragon ship named Ember, which is currently under captain Herte and he is waiting for your arrival so that you may begin you trip. There is of course more to this than the Rhen Var system because the high inquisitor believes that we need to begin to show this galaxy our might, but by that he means increasing our power. Victoria Empire Draconis, Inquisitor Chardoc“

Chardoc nodded and pushed the button closing the message.

“Victoria Empire Draconis indeed…”

Chardoc walked to his own room, but first opened the door by inserting a code known only by him, he began changing his clothes to his uniform, which was black and dark green robe with a hood that he usually had up all tough there was no true reason. Perhaps he wanted always to look dramatic and make a threatening impression of himself all tough he wasn’t threatening except when he was angry. In fact he was a very calm person, but that didn’t suggest that he wouldn’t be dangerous and cunning, he was knew the steel hands martial arts quite well as it translated in to common language. He was the worst kind in the eyes of the imperials and even his current side, but most had learned to respect Chardoc and what came to his real “people”. He had been an imperial inquisitor until he exiled from the empire because his own personal political views and ideals changed. If he would ever meet high ranking imperial officers the only thought that could come in their mind first would be coward or worse traitor. Chardoc threw the hood over his head and opened his com link to his apprentice.

“Boy I leave you to train and watch over this house while I am on business, but if anything should happen to my property I assure you that I have a lesson in store for you that you’ll never forget…”

Chardoc closed it and made his way to the landing pad of the building where he had a small shuttle for small travelling such as this trip; Chardoc opened the landing ramp and entered the cockpit. He sat down and closed the landing ramp; he began activating the systems and could feel the engine starting. The shuttle “legs” made a sound and came in the shuttle as the engines lifted the shuttle up and soon the shuttle speeded away from the building. Chardoc hadn’t actually watched over such expansion trips yet, but soon he believed he would have more than enough things to do because he would gain the trust of those who have the true authority in this empire. Chardoc entered the quite disturbingly peace less space, which had ships going to the planet, circling it and leaving it like Chardoc`s shuttle. He approached a Tion Dragon Claw that circled the planet waiting for its new leader or at least a man that would lead them to create and outpost to a god forsaken planet. Chardoc opened the hailing frequencies to the Ember.

“This is inquisitor Chardoc speaking, I believe that I can approach your ship and land captain Herte?”

A moment of sounds and screeching radio sounds came out before the captain answered to the inquisitor.

“This is captain Herte Inquisitor Chardoc, you are clear to land in the hangar sir, but shall I have an escort for you inquisitor?”

Chardoc chuckled slightly and answered.

“No need captain, if I can crush a man`s throat with by bare hands I think such won’t be a problem, if you are worried of my security and I am not that stupid to get lost in a ship….Chardoc out… ”

Chardoc closed the channel and turned the shuttle to the hangar, he let it slowly slide in the hangar with the former speed until landed nicely and was still amazed that his pilot skills hadn’t really gotten rusty. Chardoc corrected his robes and opened the ramp to a hangar with some droids working as usual, the fighters were in a nice line and the personnel seemed to be under a strict discipline. Chardoc had forgotten what the army could be like after taking out tasks alone without the need of soldiers, discipline was one of the qualities what he liked and that was one thing why he joined the army. Chardoc entered the elevator crossing his arms on his chest waiting for the elevator to move, but unfortunately as all elevators had many people on them and different floors between Chardoc`s destination. Finally the elevator reached the top and he walked out with a smile on his face because he was quite a threatening looking figure, a hooded almost 2 metres high man with black hair and cold green grey eyes. He walked to the captain who was comfortable sitting in a chair, but got up as one of the officers greeted the inquisitor and so did the captain. Chardoc answered with slight nods to the greeters, he never raised his hands like that because such was a thing not suitable for his style because it was a military thing. He was no soldier, but a warrior and an inquisitor, the difference between a warrior and a soldier were significant. Soldier had to be disciplined because he would take orders and to maintain his nerves in battle, but a warrior had to have discipline to be a warrior and to win his battles. He sat in the chair crossing his legs, he liked the chair it was much like the one at home, but not that comfortable. Bloody hell, not even the navy had nice chairs, but of course luxury wasn’t a part of soldier’s life or a warrior’s life like the training room at his home. He looked around the bridge and sighing he shrugged slightly.

“Captain what is our status? I am no captain, but I do know about being a leader, a warrior and an inquisitor…”

The captain quickly nodded and gave few orders.

“We are good to go, we have full supplies and fuel, which means we can head to Rhen Var right away…”

“But do we have our troops aboard?” Chardoc quickly interrupted.

“Yes si..”

“Good! Then let us move out and take what is rightfully belonging to the empire, but is only standing there without no one to guard it and securing that planet under our guard is the mission…but tell me captain… has there been any negative talks of me around here? I want no lying or patronizing captain just a straight and honest answer, unless you want your arm broken and I guarantee that is no funny experience, but for me it wasn’t when my father did that to me…“

The captain stood there for a moment quietly staring t him, but quickly recovered and answered to the more honourable leader.

“Well few have been talking about it because you know what some think, but did you’re…”

Chardoc smiled, but covered it with his hand.

“Oh he most certainly did break my hand, but accidentally of course during my training…and yes… once a traitor is always a traitor… heard that before, but I am not going to betray this empire because I have adapted its ways and truths….Now continue with your duties captain and get this ship to Rhen Var….”

Chardoc leaned back in the chair and watched as the stars changed his stripes as they left towards Rhen Var, which was a cold place to be unlike his nice chair, which wasn’t a better change at all. He had actually forgot what it was like to be in hyperspace after dusting in his house, planet and travelling slowly or sleeping during the trip. Actually he had forgotten what it was like to be in command, the last time he felt like that was on the bridge of a certain star destroyer, which unfortunately was destroyed.

Chardoc sat in the quarters that had been made for him and looked trough the ship data, the ship seemed to be quite new, but it’s crew had experience and the troops aboard would know their job, if there was going to be trouble on the surface. He closed the information’s and the screen went blank, he looked outside to the flashing space wondering about his current position. There was more to this than an expansion and he thought he knew the reason, the empire wanted to expand quite more than this one. Rhen Var would serve as an outpost and base of operation for the Dragons, but this would awaken the imperial’s interest in them or only increase it because they were a threat and the imperials were wise to understand that. Chardoc hated his past, but not himself or his decision, he actually was happy about them, but it was the past as an imperial that would come up eventually. It would sting him and make him bleed inside all tough no one would see it on the outside, but that was a thing that he had to face one day.

He poured himself a glass of water and drank it, there had to be something to kill this boredom and that wasn’t surely training because there were few disturbing things. He had no one to spar with, there was no proper space for him and in the hallways or hangar he would look more than ridiculous, but there were actually some soldiers aboard. Still the answer was no because they wouldn’t offer any real challenge except they were true veterans. He opened the computer and checked the news that he hadn’t really heard about at his home because he had always better things to do, they were slightly surprising. The imperials had gone to the hutt space in the lead was Telan Desarian, Chardoc had to give him credit for having the gutts for such act, but it seemed they had reached a peaceful decision with one of the hutt clans. Telan Desaria was an admiral of some sort that also was a baron, if he could remember correctly and he had a dark memory of at lest seeing him in Corusant. Trouble for the Dragons, the hutt space was close to the Black Dragon Empire and this got Chardoc pondering. How could this threat be countered? Why hadn’t anyone answered to this already? If the empire wouldn’t act them Chardoc would, but of course with the acceptance of the leaders and he would think that to be quite acceptable.

All of this was a race for power in the galaxy and the imperials saw a threat near them, this threat was never small and perhaps there would be war one day, but no one knew that. For now it would be a dance around each others and there were other than the two power hungry empires, the Galactic Coalition and various greedy companies like the Vinda Corp, which had a notable area near the dragons. Vinda was no fool and would never involve with politics like these two empires besides it was a company, but in the end none of those couldn’t really possesses a threat to the dragons. Chardoc`s thoughts were suddenly disturbed and cut like a string with scissors, a small beeping sound woke him up and he looked for the source still I partly in his thoughts. He looked at the room and picked up his com link opening a channel to answer, he was anxious when he picked it up because finally this boredom could be stopped and he could go to the planet hopefully. All tough the ship was a nice place and warm still he would change those to the cold, if there was something to do and he wasn’t a leader that stayed back. Even if you could call him a leader, but a killer and a warrior he was indeed, Chardoc raised the com link to near his mouth. Captain Hekte began speaking on the other end.

“Sir, we are arriving to the planet shortly and I would ask your presence when at the bridge as we arrive…”

Chardoc smiled for the fact that things were about to happen.

“Good captain, I’ll be there soon and don’t send any troops out without my direct orders…”

The captain nodded to himself slightly.
“As you wish inquisitor…”

Chardoc closed the channel and got up fixing his robes that had a bad habit of not being straight, he left the room and made his way to the bridge where the captain was waiting with a status report as you might expect. Chardoc had examined Hekte and noticed the man to be quite honest to his superiors, which was a mark of loyalty and a sharp person that didn’t miss things. Chardoc stood at the end of the bridge and looked at the captain, who looked back greeting him and Chardoc returned a polite nod at the captain.

“Sir we have begun scanning the planet surface and sent few droids to look for possible life forms, so far we have found three old outposts, which we suspect that they belonged to the imperials and one to someone other. The only life forms have been beasts such as so called snow men or whatever because I am no animal knower…”

Chardoc smiled and walked down few steps.

“Neither am I … neither am I… now are the troops ready to depart and is there a shuttle available at the moment?”

The captain answered with an uncertain tone.

“The troops are ready to depart at your command and yes there is your shuttle that we don’t have to use because we were prepared that our own are enough to drop the supplies for our troops…”

Chardoc walked few steps up until turned and looked at the captain.

“I am going to the surface personally and I am going to need a squad of death troopers with me to one of the bases, which one you give me doesn’t matter but I will do this almost myself so that we won’t have to divide our troops too much. Of course we will take those outposts and turn them into ours, if that is possible and we will get rid of all the imperial signs….”

Chardoc walked past Hekte and raised his hand as a goodbye; Hekte made honour and began giving orders to the ship crew as Chardoc entered the elevator to the hangar. The elevator went down floor after floor and finally reached Chardoc`s destination and he walked quickly out with his robes slightly in the air behind him. He opened the shuttle ramp and entered it; he sat on the pilot’s place and opened the channel.

“Bridge this is Inquisitor Chardoc requesting a permission to leave the hangar…”

A voice answered.

“You are clear to leave, we are currently giving you the coordinates to head towards and you shall be accompanied by squads 11 & 12 at the entrance of the small compound, they will have the doors open probably when you arrive at the scene…”

Chardoc sighed because he asked for 1 squad to back him up, but it was all the same because captain Hekte seemed to be worried about the fact that he couldn’t handle himself. Chardoc reached the atmosphere of the planet and he could already feel the cold running trough his body, he slowly glided the shuttle between few mountains and went above few until he saw the compound, which was made into a rock wall. The troopers were already there and Chardoc landed near the troopers landing craft, he walked out and the cold hit his body. It was one of the most unpleasant things he could think of, but at least it beat being bored to death and it would be warmer once they got inside. Chardoc walked to the troopers with his hands wrapped around himself and his hood thrown down because there was quite a wind out there, the soldiers nodded at the door when they saw his look and knew the question forehand. Chardoc walked to the door and met the squad leaders, he nodded to both as they greeted and looked at the door for a while.

“Are getting this thing open or not? I am freezing out here already…”

Both of them were slightly amused, but had the touch of cold too and nodded slightly.

“Yes sir, as soon as we get the explosives on their places…”

Chardoc`s nodded because the door seemed t be frozen and there was no power in the building to open it, soon a soldier arrived at them with a box and began setting the charges while the others took cover. Once the last one had gotten to cover they blew the door open and approached the opening taking a look inside with their blasters at hand, the other squad leader gave Chardoc a blaster rifle in case of emergency. Chardoc took it with a slight disgust at the weapon, but placed it on his belt and entered first to the building. The soldiers followed him and lighted the hallway with lights on their weapons. The hallway was a form of a T with two doors at the sides before the split and one door just in front of them at the split. Chardoc turned to the soldiers.

“Now that we are in squad 11 finds the power generator and gets it running anyway you can, squad twelve will split in two and the others will come with me to the command centre as the others look trough the storages for possible equipment or weaponry. I suspect that there might be some snow men or something like that so be on your guard because such places are ideal for predators, but once we get the lights on the rest is child’s play…”

The soldiers nodded and began moving, squad 11 took the right turn while Chardoc took the left with half of squad the 12 and the rest of squad 12 was searching the room trough. Chardoc kept his hand at his sword that was well hidden in his robes, but easy to take out at hand because there might be some beasts here keeping their nest. His worst fear was that a beast would have a younger one with it because nothing was more furious than a parent defending its child when it came to beasts and humans.

The base was still cold, but luckily not cold as it was outside and for that he was thankful as he made his way trough the hallway’s of the old outpost. There were no sounds except the breathing of the death troopers behind him and as their feet touched the snowy ground. Behind him few doors were cranked open either quite brutally or with slightly brutality, his group had passed two rooms that luckily had the doors open and the rooms were mostly small. The first one was the mess hall and the second was full of computers, but they weren’t used in years, but that wasn’t the command centre yet because he knew the place. This sort of buildings blue prints were in corusant all tough they were old memories, but still and Chardoc remembered some, but then again he could be horribly wrong. Chardoc opened his com link calling for the squad leaders, but a strange thing bothered him because the doors were open when they came there as if someone or something had opened them.

"Squad 11 report your status and the room’s you have passed..."

Chardc wanted to make sure that he wasn’t going to wrong way and so checked from the soldiers, who seemed slightly nervous there, but he thought it was mostly because of the dark.

"Squad leader Terfan here, we have passed 3 rooms that are mostly used for hanging out and playing like for instance we have a cantina here... but I think we are getting close to the destination... yep sir we have found a stairway down and we proceed that way..."

Chardoc switched the cannel to the half of squad 12.

"Squad leader what is you status and what have you found from those rooms?"

Chardoc heard a moment of hesitated talk and then a proper answer.

"Sir we have found some empty boxes, but then again we took another look sir and found something very interesting from another room and under these boxes. They had a fake bottom which would mean that some smugglers apparently use this place as their base waypoint. It’s worth a lot of credits this stuff, but we haven’t figured out how they got in here..."

Chardoc got that pondering look on his face and began looking at his surroundings more carefully.

"Continue as you were squad leader..."

Chardoc closed the channel and put the com link back as they arrived to new T crossroad, he had no single intention to use a light like those because a warrior had to have his hands ready. To the right there was stair, which were the most promising option after blowing doors up and he began going up and found himself in front of a door. He looked at it and the panel cursing for the fact that the power wasn’t yet on, but suddenly his com link beeped and he answered.

"This is squad 11 we have reached the generator and seems so that someone has improved it..."

Chardoc had confirmation for the "stuff" downstairs.

"Put it on and return to the T crossway..."

Chardoc closed the com link and soon the panel began beeping with a small light on it, Chardoc began inserting an imperial code hoping it to work and to his surprise it did. Strange enough that the smugglers were seemed to come to the command centre, but they actually didn’t have to when someone could get into the system without bothering. Chardoc walked to the room and the troopers came behind him securing the room, Chardoc calmly walked to the main console and began opening systems. Lights and warming first because they all were cold, but the men seemed slightly creped by the place all tough were soldier, but the place had slightly bothered him too when it was dark. These smugglers were truly clever using this abandoned outpost on this forsaken planet, no one wanted it or needed it earlier, but now Chardoc`s people needed it. The smugglers were up for the surprise of their lives when they would arrive here because there would be a small group of dragon ship to greet them. Chardoc of course wasn’t going to be there, but would truly have enjoyed seeing the looks on those poor beings faces when they would be imprisoned or killed during the "fight".

He opened all doors and closed all exits after having the aid conditioning work, but there seemed to be a problem with the air sifting in one room, which meant that he had found the smugglers entrance. Chardoc smiled turned at the soldiers.

"You men will stay here and secure the base properly because I’m off, make sure that the smugglers entrance is blocked and reinforced so that there is no going in or out. The other squads will do their job and meet you here, then I believe you’ll have some people free you of your duties here..."

Chardoc left with the soldiers getting to work, he met the rest of the soldiers in the crossway and gave few orders to take the crates to their craft for further transportation. Chardoc walked trough the cold and snow once again with his insides freezing already, he hated cold and even more he hated snow. It had the bad way of trying to hit your eyes during the wind and cover your face, but most of all it was cold. He got into his shuttle and closed the ramp; he sighed from relief and lifted the shuttle up from the ground. He flew up and towards Ember; he arrived soon enough to the hangar and got up with the elevator. He arrived at his quarters and opened connection to the bridge.

"Captain…get me out of here and head back towards home as soon as we have our men at the planet and some ship here to capture few smugglers, but before that I’d like to send a message..."

The hologram picture of the captain nodded.

"Yes sir!"

Chardoc closed the connection beginning to record his speech.

"I have succeeded in my mission and it has opened my eyes little, but truly enough... We are going to capture some slimy smugglers that held an outpost on Rhen Var as a base... I inform you and ask you that Rhen Var was just the start, if I am granted your permission I wish to counter the imperial attack to the hutt space by firstly taking the world of Rinn... whatever you decided it will be wise... Victoria Imperium Draconis..."

Chardoc closed it and sat down smiling, it was time to show the imperials that the dragons don’t just sit emotionless until they have conquered everything.

Take Over Of Rinn

In the hangar of the Ember a tall robed figure proceeds his way to a shuttle and sits down in the cockpit, he closes the lading ramp and activates the shuttle systems. The shuttle softly lifts up and flies out of the Dragon Claw cruiser towards the planet below named Raxus, the pilot makes his way towards a quite magnificent building in a city. Soon the shuttle arrives to its destination and lands nicely to be soon surrounded by droids that begin fuelling it as the pilot walks towards a door inside. The door opens and a robed figure emerges behind it, the figure is smaller than the arrival, but wears different robes that tell him to more influenced. The arrival walks to the other man and greets the other with a bow.

"High inquisitor Yerax..."

Chardoc almost whispers with a dry throat, the high inquisitor nods as a mark of acceptance and lifts his hand for Chardoc to get up from his bow.

"Inquisitor Chardoc.... You have done well and many are pleased including I, but there are other matters that you wished to attend to after this, if I understood correctly by your message? Of course there are few things that I wish to talk with you...especially concerning your quite bold request..."

Chardoc got up and threw his hood down slightly nodding, Yerax began walking away and Chardoc followed easily catching up the smaller man with his long legs. Chardoc walked with his head bowed down as he always did in front of superiors or at least those who he respected as a superior. The high inquisitor opens his mouth with a serious and curious voice.

"I think that it`s quite bold to ask for acts that aren’t granted to you, but since you succeeded quite well from your latest task I believe that you can succeed again, but the fact that you want to do this because the imperials have attacked the hutt space...."

Yerax stopped and turned to Chardoc continuing his speech.

"Has it something to do for the fact that you left the new order and now you hate their ways as you did or is it because they didn’t respect your decision and hunted you?"

Chardoc felt slightly bothered with this man who had years of experience for being what he was, Chardoc answered with a dry voice to the ponderings of the high inquisitor to stop his curiosity.

"Perhaps it is because I don’t like them, but neither do any of us and I see them as a threat to the empire, I want to carry out something, which doesn’t seem to be happening without someone decisive...."

Yerax suddenly turned slightly threatening and spoke with a threatening tone.

"Are you saying that the empire and Taj is powerless and helpless inquisitor Chardoc?"

Chardoc was stunned by the sudden turn of speech, but quickly retaliated and answered with caution.

"NO! Most certainly not high inquisitor! What I meant was that I am offering to do something so that others do not have to waste their time and so that they can concentrate to more important matters. So I only wish to prove my worth, but I wouldn’t want to end it to Rinn because I would like to make a counter by taking the worlds of Abuda III and Barab I. I would do this to my loyalty to the Taj and the empire, if you only provide me with more soldiers and the ship that I used at Rhen Var…."

The high inquisitor slightly smiled and nodded.

“Very well then… may Taj be praised, if you return with victory and success in your hands, but there will be consequences, if you should fail and return alive…”

Chardoc quickly bows and looks at the high inquisitor with curiosity.

“Understood high inquisitor, but as you earlier mentioned that there were issues that you wished to talk with me and I am very confident that I have the answers…”

The high inquisitor continued his walk and Chardoc followed, Yerax walked looking forwards and then Chardoc; then back to Chardoc as he walked.

“We have observed you apprentice inquisitor and he seems quite sharp enough, he believes in all we stand for and has learned well from you so I inform you that we want him to become an inquisitor like his master because there must be someone to continue in your place, if you fall inquisitor and your training to him will be a great help…”

Chardoc was now very confused, how in the hell or when did they had seen his apprentice and how did they have such belief’s? Of course Chardoc was not the most fanatic inquisitor, but the boy followed every order that Chardoc gave. Chardoc was quiet when he realised the point of all and nodded after a moment.

“Very well the boy shall be an inquisitor… I’ll talk to him after I return from my campaign to strike fear at the imperials and deliver the planets for the empire… if I fail I shall return to be punished and at least I can’t be seen as a traitor here...”

The high inquisitor nodded as Chardoc bowed at him and then turned away after the high inquisitor had left, he was slightly relieved for the fact that he was granted this honour and punishment, if he should fail, but failing was no option. He failed one empire in his past, but he wasn’t going to fail another all tough it was against the same empire he once betrayed. To be exact he wouldn’t attack the imperials, but the near by planets of hutt space to counter their hutt space infiltration. This would at least give the dragons a front to the hutt space, but at the same time the imperials would make their next move or try to capture the two other planets before the dragons did. Of course they could end up in same planet and it could be a mess, but Chardoc suspected that the imperials would be fighting the other hutt clans for a while. Chardoc left the hallway and walked out drawing his hood up, he entered the shuttle as the droids scattered away from it. He sat down and started the engines, which began humming as he lifted the shuttle up and flew away from the building towards his home. After half and hour the shuttle landed to the small bay on top of the building and Chardoc walked out seeing his apprentice waiting for him with his ordinary clothes on, the boy carried black trousers and a black shirt. The boy never seemed to be smiling, but how could anyone smile in this damned world of troubles except from irony, Chardoc walked past the boy and spinned him around by his shoulder. The boy was used to such spins and didn’t lose his balance when he began following his master; Chardoc was quiet and walked to his room. He packed few items with his and drank a glass of water, he placed the glass to a table from where he had picked it up and taken the bottle as well. He turned to his apprentice, who was the replacement of a family for him and was probably keeping him sane from time to time.

“I’ll be away on empire business… You can take care of yourself and the house, but first there is something I’d like you to know…”

The boy’s interest awakened and now he looked at his master with curiosity in his eyes.

“All tough you weren’t asked, but I wouldn’t wish to die without someone to take my place or defy the word of the high inquisitor so you will become an inquisitor like I, do you understand?”

The boy nodded, but it was so quick and uncertain answer so that anyone could see that the news was quite a shock, but that was the way things worked and Chardoc wondered, if the boy would handle himself trough the training. Chardoc then put the last items in his pocket and slapped his apprentice slightly on the shoulder. He then left the room leaving his apprentice to think about the news and clear his head, time was all that the boy now had while Chardoc was away serving the empire.

In a way Chardoc felt guilty for something and tried to ease his guilt by training this boy to a man, Chardoc was choosing the boy a future that he had nothing to say. Chardoc at least wanted to be an inquisitor, but such were the ways and days. Chardoc walked to his shuttle on the landing pad looked back seeing an empty room behind him as the doors closed; he shrugged and walked into the shuttle. He activated the engines and the shuttle ramp closed, Chardoc flew the shuttle towards the skies and the cruiser above waiting for his return so that he could conquer a new planet for the glory of the empire.

Victoria Imperium Darconis indeed…. but at what cost for him?
