Myn smiled. The Yuuzhan Vong had attacked Garos IV, their course had been plotted from Hutt Space. Probably Nal Hutta our Nar Shadda. Myn thought it was Nal Hutta, as no Huttt smugglers had been operating in the Garos IV system for a long time. The Yuuzhan Vong had probably stopped all ships in that area from leaving.

"All ships prepare for hyperspace. The Yuuzhan Vong attacked us, probaly in retaliation for the strike against Nkllon. We need to retaliate fast, we need to take down their outposts as soon as we find them. All Lightning Cruisers, form up with the three Heavily Modified Corellian Corvettes. Your target is Jamineer, an outpost that we believe is not very well defended. For this task you have also been assigned 12 TIE Defenders, use them well."

"Yes sir."

"Affermative sir."

"Lets rock and roll."

"Ready and waiting."

"Lets kick some A$$."

More calls came through, indicating readiness.

"All of Taskforce Alpha, jump."

The proud onlookers watched as Taskforce Alpha led the attack against the Yuuzhan Vong, their target Jamineer. Most viewed the fact that their were Taskforce Alpha as proof that they were the best. In reality that was just a front, names had been picked in order of when you have to jump, to reach the destination at the same point as everybody else.

"Taskforce Beta you consist of the eight Freedom Cruisers and one Missile Cruiser, plus 24 TIE Defenders. Target, Nal Hutta, Nar Shadda and Nar Hekka, if there are any Yuuzhan Vong there."

Affermatives came through the com.

"Don't jump yet though. Wait untill the signal."

"Yes sir."

Killan Homer had been chosen to lead Taskforce Beta, while the upcoming Captain Swarm had been chosen for Taskforce Alpha. Killan Homer's crew were more disiplined, and would not make many call over the com, they were just assumed to be ready, any problems would be reported to Killan Homer, not Myn Winger. Finally the time came for them to jump.

"Taskforce Beta jump."

The ships left in a flash, perfectly in unison.

"Taskforce Gamma you consist of the two Allegiance Star Destroyers, two Imperial MK.III Star Destroyers, 10 Aegis Star Cruiser MK.II, two Missile Cruisers and 100 TIE Fighters."

"Affermative."

Myn smiled, his taskforce was the biggest one, and strongest one. They would be taking Talorran, and the Yuuzhan Vong worldship, if the rumors were right.

"Taskforce Gamma jump to hyperspace now."

The Taskforce left, heading for Talorran, and a battle...

ONE WEEK LATER

Nal Hutta

The taskforce headed by Killan Homer came out of hyperspace.

"Shields up, weapons power up, launch all fighters."

"Sensors indicate one heavy cruiser, and two gunships, plus ten coral skippers."

"Excellent. Four Freedom Cruisers and the Missile Cruiser attack that heavy Cruiser from all sides. The other four circle the gunships. All fighters destroy the enemy coral skippers."

The ships moved out. With four Freedom Cruisers and a Missile Cruiser attacking the heavy cruiser it's dolvin basils were taxed, but still up. The gunships were also being taxed to the limit.

"All fighters remeber to double or triple team the coral skippers. All ships launch your missiles."

The Missile Cruiser sent off a volley of 70 proton torpedoe launched in the spread pattern. The four Freedom Cruisers made a combined volley of 48 proton torpedoes. Most of them were stopped, but with so many shot, 24 of them got through, impacting along the ships, ripping up coral and destroying dolving basils. Against the gunships each was hit by 24 proton torpedoes and ten got through for one, while twelve got through for the other.

"Fire again."

Another missile salvo and the ships were destroyed.

"Incoming message."

"What is it?"

"Captian Swarm wishes for reinforcements. He was hit by two light cruisers and five corvettes."

"Send out four freedom cruisers."

"Myn Winger also requests help. He was hit by the worldship, five heavy cruisers, six light cruisers, four gunships and eight corvettes."

"All remaining ships leave for Talorran."

"Sensors indicate another gunship incoming."

"All guns target that gunship."

Luckily no ships had left for Jamineer if Talorran yet, so a massive 214 proton torpedoe and concussion missile salvo was launched at it, destroying it.

"Jump now."

The four freedom cruiser jumped, for Jamineer, quickily followed by all the other ships heading for Talorran...

Meanwhile

Jamineer
The fleet commanded by Captain Swarm came out of hyperspace.

"Shields and weapons power up. All fighters prepare for combat, lets move in."

"Enemy ships detected."

"How many."

"Two Light Cruisers, six corvettes and 12 coral skippers."

"Retreat. Send a message to Nal Hutta and Talorran, asking for reinforcements."

"Done sir."

"Lay down covering fire, and lets tes the speed of their ships."

"Coral skippers incoming. The rest of the fleet is advancing."

"Send the fighters out for the coral skippers. If they get a target lock for a while, send it to a capital ship, we can destroy them easily with turbolasers."

"Yes sir."

"How fast are those other ships going."

"Fast sir, they are gaining on us."

"What?"

"They are gaining sir."

"But these are some of the fastest ships in the galaxy."

"True, but they seem to be faster."

"Damm, all ships prepare for a microjump."

"Sir one of the light cruisers has slowed down. It is acting as an interdictor, instead of a armed vessel and will not catch us."

"Damm, still to much."

"Yes, but not by much."

"Have you heard any responses?"

"Yes. Nal Hutta is sendign reinforcements. Talorran has broadcasted requesting reinforcements."

"Not good. How many coral skipper shave been destroyed?"

"Five of them, three by capital ships and two by fighters."

"Excellent. Continue."

"The enemy has almost come in range."

"Even if we send the Lightning Cruisers out for a quick hit and fade they are more manuverable then us."

"How far from the edge of the field are we?"

"Not far."

"Can we out speed the interdictor?"

"Yes."

"Then do it and get us out of here, for now."

The fleet sped up retreating from the enemy interdictor, trying to make a jump into hyperspace.

Talorran
The fleet came out of hyperspace in a flash. Then they were stopped dead in their tracks. Myn had been planning to head for the planet, but that wasn't a smart idea.

"Shields up, weapons power up, launch all fighters, send a message for help to Nal Hutta and Jamineer and then get us out of here. Microjump to the edge of the system."


"Yes sir."

"Then tell em exactly how many Yuuzhan Vong vessels are out there."

"Looks like one worldship, five heavy cruisers, six light cruisers, four gunships and eight corvettes."

"What about fighters?"

"Around 70 coral skippers."

"Receiving a call for help from Jamineer and a response from Nal Hutta. They have secured their area and are heading out to help us and Taskforce Alpha."

"Excellent."

By then the ships had successfully made the jump to hyperspace, and had reappeared at the edge of the system.

"Tell Taskforce Beta and all reinforcements that we are at the edge of the system, and waiting for help."

"Yes sir."

"Then devise an attack plan. How many ships at Jamineer?"

"Two Light Cruisers, six corvettes and twelve coral skippers."

"That means that Killan will probably send four freedom cruisers and the missile cruiser along with the fighters here. Then the other four freedom cruisers will go to Jamineer."

"Will four Freedom Cruisers and the Missile Cruiser be enough?"

"Hopefully. Wait while I calculate."

Myn sat down and punched the numbers through.

"Yes, barely. The Allegiance Star Destroyers attack the worldship. The Imperial Mk.III Star Destroyers and six Aegis Star Cruisers MK.II attack the Heavy Cruisers, the Missile Cruisers, including the one from Taskforce Beta will attack the light cruisers, with help from three Aegis Star Cruisers. Then another Aegis Star Cruiser attacks two gunships, while the Freedom Cruisers take care of the corvettes."

"That leaves two gunships."

"Yes it does. They will be hit by the extra 44 TIE Defenders."

"Woudln't it be simpler if a Freedom Cruiser hit the two gunships, while the TIE Defenders hit the two corvettes."

"Yes it would. Excellent idea. Make those changes to the battle plan."

With the changes made, it was time to wait, to wait and see if the Yuuzhan Vong had any tricks ready for them...

Jamineer

Suddenly the reinforcements came, just near the other fleet. They sped up and joined together in a fighting force.

"All fighters have been destroyed."

"All capital ships open fire. Freedom Cruisers take out those Light Cruisers. All other ships, move in and destroy the gunships."

Numerous volleys flew out at the attacking ships. The Yuuzhan Vong had slowed down to wait for the other light cruiser, which had stopped acting as an interdictor ahd and made a micro jump to the rest of the fleet.

"Why don't they flee?"

"Because Yuuzhan Vong almost never flee. They wil sacrifice themselves to destroy our ships, what they refer to as abominations."

"Watch out for ramming attempts."

"Yes sir."

A volley of missiles went out, each light cruiser being hit by 48 missiles. The Gunships were hit by less, 5 from each Lightnign Cruiser, 2 from each TIE Defenders and 4 from each Corellian Corvette. In total each one was hit by nine missiles, thirteen for two of them. These two were destroyed, and the corellian corvettes moved on and attacked other targets.

"Continue. Launch another missile barrage, quickly follwed by a third."

Two quick barrages were launched, destroying the Yuuzhan Vong.

"Target secure sir."

"All ships jump to Talorran, they may need help."

The fleet jumped into hyperspace, ready for anything...

Meanwhile, Talorran.

"All ships prepare for the attack."

"But our reinforcements are not here yet."

"They should be here in less then a minute."

"Yes sir."

"Here they come now."

The four Freedom Cruisers and the Missile Cruiser came out of hyperspace, along with the TIE Defenders.

"Excellent. Move out and destroy your targets."

The ships move out. Some ships, such as the Imperial MK.III Star Destroyers found it easier to destroy the enemy ships they were assigned, in this case a heavy cruiser. Others, such as the Allegiance Star Destroyers found it very difficult. As far as they could tell, there was only one plasma cannon on it, but it had numerous dolvin basils, which kept on sucking in their shots, no matter how many they threw at it. Their commanders were beginning to get fustrated...

"All capital ships release your missiles in the spread pattern, and fight a retreating action, we need to buy time for the reinforcements to come."

"But we don't know they are coming sir."

"Trust me. Captain Swarm will come here to help us. Since we broadcasted saying we needed help, and he will be done with his fleet in a matter of minutes, he should be here in around five minutes."

"Yes sir."

Another voice cut in.

"Sir the fighters report that the first of the corvettes is dead, but they lost a lot of shield power in their attacks. Also we have destroyed fourty coral skippers and havn't lost any fighters."

"Do not inform the fighters about the retreating action."

A voice bursted out.

"That is as good as leaving them out to dry."

"Not really. I expect that when they see us flee they will put up an interdictor, therefor dragging the incoming fleet out of hyperspace right on top of their ships, surprising them. Also it is very difficult for fighters to fight retreating actions, especially if they are retreating with a fleet of capital ships. Don't worry, we will win and destroy all the Yuuzhan Vong, but we need to do it smartly, not stupidly."

"Yes sir."

Suddenly the incomign fleet poped out fo hyperspace.

"All fighters attack enemy coral skippers. Lightning Cruisers attack that Worldship. Corellian Gunships attack the enemy corvette that the fighters were on. All other ships move back into the fray."

The ships move back into the fight...
