“Captain,” the crystal-clear voice of Lieutenant Lithium shattered in so few nanoseconds the perfect silence of Captain Tulok’s private quarters. It did not, however, dispel the darkness that fully enveloped the Captain’s sleeping place; that was for Tulok to do.

He raised his head just slightly, seeing still the blackness around him as his eyes groggily opened, staring directly ahead into the darkness. He thought, for a fleeting moment, that he might be able to just see the metal-gray of his bulkhead headboard hanging in the air before him, but it turned out simply to be sleep catching the edge off his vision.

“Captain?” Lithium’s voice came again, more persistent and adding an edge it hadn’t conveyed before. This too, Tulok reasoned, could just as easily be the sleep shaving off his hearing as well.

Probably not, though.

“Go ahead, Lieutenant,” Tulok muttered grudgingly, tapping the comm. at his bedside before speaking. He pushed himself up on his elbows and rolled over quickly to the right, ending up sitting on the edge of the bedside. He threw a quick, sidelong glance at the chrono, and scowled even more in the darkness when he saw what it read.

Too early.

“Sir, you have a visual transmission from Admiral Osiaric. He is getting impatient, you know...” Lithium trailed off, letting the Arbitrator’s Captain soak up the meaning of what he was saying. It took a second, but...

Oh, Frell!

----------

“Captain,” Admiral Osiaric looked down his long, pointed nose at Tulok, sparingly underdressed, sitting at his desk with a tight fitting Captain’s jacket, unbuttoned and showing his bare chest beneath. Tulok’s black, unkempt hair stuck out at an embarrassing angle, the Admiral’s look forcing Tulok to reach his hand up and stroke it back slightly, trying desperately to make himself formally appearing.

In this instance, it didn’t work very well for him. Osiaric frowned, then continued.

“Captain, I did have a rather important assignment for you... perhaps, though, you would be better suited returning to Carida and re-learning what it means to address and Admiral, hmm?” There was a menace likened to Lithium’s in Osiaric’s tone, and behind the Admiral, Tulok could see a smile of contempt spreading eagerly over his aid, hiding himself stealthily to the right of the screen. Tulok smiled.

Yes, Admiral, I know very well how to address someone of your stupidity.

“Yes, Admiral Osiaric, I apologise for my lacking,” Tulok kept the smile pasted on his face as he and Osiaric locked gazes, with no result.

“Good,” Osiaric smiled, leaning back from the screen. Tulok hadn’t realised he’d even been leaning forward. “Then I am assuming you want the assignment?”

“Yes Admiral, what is it you want me to do? The Arbitrator is at your disposal,” Tulok allowed the smile to fade momentarily as he bowed his head, but brought it back up again when his head levelled out.

“Yes, as is the Pandemonium at yours.”

Tulok’s mask vanished without his consent this time, as the statement flashed across space from Osiaric’s ready room aboard the Pandemonium to Tulok’s ears aboard the Arbitrator and his expression filled with question.

“Pack your bags, Captain,” Osiaric smiled wider. “You’re being transferred.”

----------

“Now, as you know, Davin Essian was the former commander of the Pandemonium-”

“After me,” Tulok cut Lithium off with a glare.

“Yes, sir... anyway, with the completion of the Ebony Vigilance, he was transferred, and Captain Hugard placed at the helm,” Lithium continued, swapping words with Tulok over the distance separating them in the Lambda shuttle’s passenger compartment.

“So what’s happened to Hugard?” Tulok questioned, his dark eyebrows furrowing together.

“Well, the intel I gathered before we left suggests that he and the Admiral didn’t get along very well. Right from the start there were arguments. Plus he wasn’t a very good captain when placed in charge of something as large as an Allegiance SSD...”

“So what happened to him?”

“My best guess is he was either dismissed, or transferred. Second Stygian had an opening, if I remember correctly...” Lithium turned away, keying on his datapad and flicking through endless records.

Tulok turned away too, noting that he probably wasn’t going to get much more out of the Lieutenant whom he had taken on as his aid. Outside the viewport, the Pandemonium moved into his vision.

----------

Two weeks later

“Good morning, Admiral.”

“Captain,” Osiaric nodded curtly, taking in the form of Tulok entering the bridge as he did so and offering the cordial greeting. Tulok marched up to greet his superior, smiling just as curtly and holding out one hand to the side.

“The report you requested,” he said, as Lithium silently handed the Captain a datacard, who in turn held it out for the Admiral.

Osiaric spent a moment longer studying the report he already held, before accepting the one Tulok offered, tucking it under his arm absent-mindedly.

The stood there, overly conscious that Osiaric had yet to dismiss him, and resentful of the waiting that the senior Admiral always saw fit to put him through.

I think I know what Hugard’s problem was...

“General Ming speaks highly of you,” Osiaric stated, seemingly out of the blue.

“Pardon, Admiral?” Tulok’s face was once more raked with surprise, as the statement caught him completely off balance.

“The General, Captain. He speaks highly of your performance at Dantooine. The Pandemonium was your command then, correct?” With those last few words Tulok realised what Osiaric was talking about. He had been to Dantooine twice on combat missions. The latest was with the Arbitrator, during the NR invasion. That had been a bloody battle, he remembered.

But the Admiral wasn’t referring to that, Tulok knew. Osiaric was obviously pointing reference to when Tulok had lead the attack on Dantooine itself, when he had claimed it for Imperial rule.

That hadn’t been so bloody a battle.

“Uhh, yes, Admiral,” Tulok answered, wondering with ferocious intent where this conversation was headed.

“You did well in that battle, Captain,” Osiaric smiled, staring out the main viewport absentmindedly. “You proved yourself well. You proved yourself, to the Regency. You proved yourself to the military. You even proved yourself to the army, if General Ming’s report is anything to go by,” Osiaric smiled again, turning to face Tulok and patting the datapad he had been studying earlier.

“But you haven’t proven yourself to me.”

Tulok stood defiant, as if his actions in previous battles should be all the proof Osiaric needed.

“Don’t look so offended, Captain,” the Admiral said, as he turned to leave the bridge, his face impassive. “Prepare your ship, Captain, and plot a course for Hutt Space. You shall be briefed on the way.”

----------

“Reversion in five minutes, Captain,” Lithium informed Tulok from behind, as the Captain sat as tall as he could in his commander’s chair.

“Thank you, Lieutenant,” Tulok said, watching Osiaric standing before him with contempt. The Admiral had his back facing Tulok, and was only more staring out the viewport, hands clasped behind his back as so many Admirals loved to do. Captains, too.

Tulok remembered vaguely the last week, playing over the events again in his mind as he slowly contemplated what the situation would be like at reversion point.

A week ago, he had given the order to move into Hutt space. The division’s journey had been horrifically uneventful, only dotted every now and then by minor malfunctions and repairs, for colour. They had arrived in Hutt Space, orientated themselves, and... waited.

That was the part that Tulok hated the most, the waiting.

Waiting for the right time. Waiting for more intel. Waiting for the exact orbits and the exact configurations of the stars so that their entrance jump would be nothing less than perfect. The way the Admiral wanted this attack to go required precise calculations, and was highly dangerous, considering exactly where they would be jumping into the system.

Hutt Space had been uneventful, and so was this jump.

“One minute, sir,” Lithium spoke up behind, alerting Tulok to the impending battle.

Although, if negotiations went well, there would be no need for a battle.

In his heart though, Tulok hoped that wouldn’t happen.

“Ten seconds!” A new voice piped up from the crew pit, the man assigned to call out to the entire bridge, this time.

“Five, four, three, two, one... mark!” As the last words escaped the man’s mouth, the blue-white lines in front of Osiaric’s face changed, so suddenly, into starlines, then back into individual pinpricks in the deep of space.

Tulok looked out at the world that lay before him.

“Send the package, now!” Tulok yelled at his comm. Officer. As soon as he got the confirmation nod, the next command was issued. “Jam all comm.’s!”

“The package”, as it had been called by Tulok, was simply an information bundle, which had been transmitted to all ships and planetside installations with capabilities to receive a message via comm. It contained a holo of Admiral Osiaric, in full dress uniform, and contained the following message:

“I am Admiral Osiaric, of the Imperial Navy. This planet, it’s assets, and it’s people, are now under the control of the New Order. Any resisting factions will be dealt with using extreme force. The standing government and military is therefore ordered to leave immediately, or be forcefully disbanded. Lay down your arms, and leave the system. Admiral Osiaric, out.”

Now, the message had been sent, and the established forces would, hopefully, react.

The reasoning behind waiting for so long to jump was no apparent, as well. The Admiral’s Division had exited hyperspace barely ten klicks away from one of the orbital shipyards, which happened to be, at this time, outside the protective shielding of the planet’s powerful Gencore type Two shield. The other shipyard, on the opposite side of the planet, was also on the outside of this vital protection.

The fact was, the shield wasn’t up at all.

“Deploy all fighters,” Tulok ordered, as the mass of the Pandemonium bore down upon the planet. “As soon as Stygian Second is fully in-system, activate all Interdictor and Abolisher fields.”

“Form up the Division, hang the Pandemonium back, and prepare to neutralise the shipyard, on my order.”

The ships under Admiral Osiaric’s command did as he instructed, following the orders to the “T”.

Before them, Teth grew ever closer.

Cardia…

Admiral Osiaric was standing at the head of a long black table as Lieutenant Tym Jaiprenl entered the conference room. Tym was summonded by the admiral for reasons unknown. Osiaric’s gaze fell upon Tym over his pointed nose. His stare was as if you were facing death; this feature helped him kept a respect over his subordinates that most commanders had only because they were higher rank. His malicious demeanor certainly benefited him too.

“Sit down Lieutenant,” Osiaric commanded, with a clear distaste for the Lieutenant. “As you know, your performance in war games has been beyond exceptional. Word of this has gotten back to High Command at Bastion. To put you to a true test, they had asked me to come retrieve you and have you participate in the New Order’s next mission.”

Tym’s spirits lifted with this news, but dare not show it on his face. Osiaric would surely chastise him for it, going off on how real war is not a game.

“Your target, Teth. It was once an Imperial controlled world, but has since fallen to the control of the Iron Fist Empire. From what Intelligence tells us, they have a formidable defense force, plus a Gencore planetary shield, but nothing an Imperial armada couldn’t lay to waste,” a twisted smile formed on Osiaric’s face. “You will be given command of Stygian Fleet’s second battle division, and accompanied by Sentinel’s third division. Your approach vector will be from the general area of Corporate Sector space. I warn you, do not enter the air space of the Corporate Space. When don’t need the CSA breathing down our neck about an Imperial battle group invading their territory. Is this all understood Jaiprenl?”

Tym’s cool blue eyes met Osiaric’s death gaze, almost neutralizing it.

“Aye sir, understood,” Tym responded with confidence.

“Excellent. You’ll be leaving in one standard hour, Captain,” Osiaric replied.

“Captain?” Tym questioned with uncertainty.

“Would you prefer Ensign? Leave now Jaiprenl, before I change my mind,” snapped Osiaric. Tym quickly bowed and left the conference room for his quarters. He had some packing to do.

The second division of Stygian Fleet slipped silently through the dimension of hyperspace towards the unsuspecting planet of Teth. Captain Jaiprenl stood on the bridge of the Judgment, watching the other crewmembers scrambling around. The day of was reckoning at hand for the rouge Iron Fist Empire. This was only a small step in eliminating all “false Empires” mission that was stated so long ago in the first Imperial address. That was a grand day for the New Order. Jaiprenl could still see the holo-feed in his mind’s eye as if it were being projected in front of him, and how his late-uncle’s eyes shined with pride. His uncle, Kamron Mobcuet, had been a Star Destroyer commander in the glorious days of the Empire. When Tym had come into his care, he was forced to retire under the strict Imperial Naval codes. He knew his uncle had regretted in doing so, but Tym knew his uncle loved him just the same.

The chaos on the bridge was coming to a crescendo as they approached Teth. This is what an Imperial commander lived for, the adrenaline pumping hype of the last moments of true calm before the storm. During battle things would become more frenzied that this.

“One minute from reversion, Captain,” came from the crew pit. Tym acknowledged the updated with a slight nod.

“Ensign, inform the CIP’s and Abolisher to begin charging their gravity wells. And have them active them on their immediate exit from hyperspace.”

“Aye sir,” came from the crew pit yet again. Tym mused if the Ensign was a victim of Osiaric's threats. “Reversion in five… four… three… two… one… realspace.”

Stars formed in the viewports with Teth in the foreground. Sentinel’s first had already emerged from hyperspace on the other side of the planet. Communication had already been locked down, and both sides were guarded with interdictions field; nothing would get out. The reports from the other ships under Tym command confirming exit from hyperspace were streamed in over the tight, broadband channels. Tym opened one to Sentinel to report their status.

“Stygian Fleet, reporting in. All ships accounted for, and interdictors are active,” he closed the comm. channel and switched to the internal system. “Launch the fighters. Concentrated ion fire on the shipyards.”

With that, Tym stood back and waited for resistance.

The joint Iron Fist Empire and Mon Calamari Republic forces jumped to Teth. They're travel was cut short y the interdiction fields. Grand Admiral Snowkan saw the ion cannon bolts flying towards the shipyards, only to be stopped by two Gencore Type II Shield Generators. The Iron Fist and Mon Calamari forces were coming in from behind the Stygian fleet. Iron Fist quickly opened fire on the Alligiance star destroyer. Serpent's Smile went after the Attack class carrier sphere, Serpent's Bite went after the fist victory star destroyer, Serpent's Poison went after the third. Liberty went after the fourth. Reckonning went after a Penetrator Assualt cruiser, Liberty Moon went after another and Star's Delight went after the third. All fighters were launched, except for the ground based ones. The six victory star destroyers teamed up and went after the three carrack cruisers and Fire class light cruisers. The six remaining MC-300 went after the interdiction pickets, and the two MC-100a and Aegis Star Cruisers MK.II went after the abolisher cruisers. The enemy on this side of the planet was hopelessly out numbered.

Tym watched the fighters become pinpricks against the mixture of the blues, greens and whites of Teth’s surface. They danced across their background striking at the orbital shipyards, disabling them for safekeeping. Tym had found it quiet odd that the Iron Fist Empire’s fleet had not appeared from orbit or hyperspace yet. Leaving the capital planet was very careless on their part, very careless. Even the protective layer that the planetary shield generator provided was only temporary. In time, Teth would fall, even if resistance did come. A shout from the aft of the bridge snapped Tym out of his trance.

“Commander,” the communications officer bellowed, “the Abolishers have reported contact. A massive fleet has come out of hyperspace, and judging from the light show they are reporting, a majority of it was destroyed by the hyper spheres.”

“Report that to Sentinel fleet immediately Lieutenant,” Tym responded quickly, “Also have all ships rotate a full one-eighty to intercept the resistance. Any reports on whom the attackers are?” Intelligence reports had shown a meager defense fleet of the Iron Fist. If it was a massive fleet, as the Abolishers had reported, then they must be coming with assistance from an ally.

“Captain, enemy ships are broadcasting Iron Fist Empire and Mon Calamari Republic signals,” came from aft again.

An odd alliance…

Tym couldn’t make since of it; an Imperial remnant was allied with a planetary government who’s world had been subjected by the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. An odd alliance indeed. But Tym dispelled any further thought towards it, for it was not the concern of the moment. For whatever reasons the Mon Calamari Republic had to help the Iron Fist Empire to protect Teth did not matter, they had paid the ultimate price already for their interference by running head long into the Abolisher’s hyper sphere field. It was only Tym’s job to make them paid further.

The Judgment had turned half of the required one-eighty degrees to fully face the assault. Being the largest ship in his assigned taskforce, it was also one of the slowest. The smaller ships had already made the about face, and their weapons were primed for attack. Tym stared out the viewports at the foreboding and advancing enemy fleet. From their distance, Tym could identify several Mon Cal MC-class star cruisers, and an unfamiliar class of Star Destroyer. The others were indistinguishable at such an expanse, but there appeared to be many small- to medium-sized capital ships.

“Sir, we are coming in range,” came from weapons control.

“Fire on my mark,” Tym said with a calm in his voice, as he lifted his right arm. He could see enemy fire as it approached the ship. Green blots of pure energy harmlessly splashed off of the Judgment's shielding. Tym violently threw down his arm, the command for the Judgment to release a shower of its own apocalyptic hellfire.

With his free hand, Tym reached down to the communication controls and switch to a highly encrypted, tight frequency channel to distribute orders to the rest of Stygian, “All ships hold positions and pick targets as they come into range. Allow none to get through to the other side of the planet.”

OOC NOTE: I am ignoring the specifics of the attacks because I don't know what ships were wiped out.

What do you suggest Warmaster Zhin?

The Warmaster of the Yuuzhan Vong merely shrugged off the inquiry as he focused tenderly on the reported battle. Two infidel navies had massed, one of which was utterly destroyed in mere seconds. This was intriguing news.

"How did the first infidel fleet destroy the second?" he asked, still ignoring the Yammosk's telepathic inquiry. The great brain bulboused for a moment, and then retracted.

Something they call an Abolisher...it destroys craft in hyperspace, it could cause damage against our wormhole travel techniques.

Zhin again stroked his tattooed and scarred jaw, his tongue wisping against torn, bottom lip. A hand easing against his modified amphistaves -- swords blossomed from similar breeds from the amphistaff -- he thought for a moment, stroking his bald head with his other hand.

The Yuuzhan Vong gazed an impassive eye over the Yuuzhan Vong fleet around Nar Shadda. It had recently been reshaped, with the whole of the planet now cleansed of abominations that infected the planet like an undying plague.

"Dispatch some scouts...they shall monitor the battle and decide fi Yun-Yuuzhan's Will shall interfere with the infidels' squabbles."

Yun-Yuuzhan's Grappler wasted no time in leaping safely far from the abolisher fields...and gently monitored the battle. Meanwhile the Yuuzhan Vong fleet lay in wait, defending their planets ominously.

"If Teth is taken then we leave our other flank exposed...we can't take that."

The ships moved in agiants there enemies. The teo squads of Shadow Droids named went after the third abolisher cruier. twenty four torpedoes all hit at the same spot. The shields barely held. Then twenty four concussion missiles came zooming in at the same spot, just seconds behind the wave of torpedoes. the shields collapsed nder the onsluaght of the torpedoes and missiles. The Ageis cruiser had there guns working like mad. They were launching twenty concussion missiles in each salvo plsu their fifty heavy trubolaser and fifty normal turblasers were firing rapidly.
"Sir we have reports of a Yuuzhan Vong ship on the edge of the system."
"Great. Now the Yuuzhan Vong might attack. This is just wonderful, not! Alright Sensors, keep your eyes on that ship. Send a message to Bimmissarri askign them to jump into sytem. Include the data on where the abolisher field ends."
"Yes sir." Alright. Make a hole in the inner shield. Then tell the ground based fighters to fly up into that whole and then cover up the hole. then make one in the outer shield. the fighters fly out of that and th eouter shield covers up the hole. They don't even get to fire on turbolaser blast at the ground cause it will hit one of the two shields."
"Yes sir. Doing it now sir."
"Send a message to Tenloss Syndicate asking them to send in their ships. Tell them wher the abolisher field ends. Send the same message to NR. They might help but i doubt it."
"Yes sir."
The messages were sent out and the battle raged on.

“Admiral,” a stocky human male manning the Pandemonium’s main sensor station called up to his vast superior, Osiaric. The elder wasted no time in marching over from his standpoint near the viewport with Tulok and joining the middle-aged man at his station.

“Report,” Osiaric glared down his nose impatiently at the subordinate officer, a no-nonsense look in his eyes. Tulok came up behind the admiral as well, albeit dramatically more relaxed in his stride. From the captain’s viewpoint, of course, the battle was so-far falling heavily in their favour.

“Sir, we have multiple contacts coming out of hyperspace behind the Second Stygian division-” the short officer began, stating what was now obvious if one were to look out of the main viewport. Tulok’s expression hardened instantly, and he cut the man off with a glare. Turning to Osiaric, he muttered to the older man.

“The Abolisher fields were active, Admiral, I am sure of it.”

“Yes, sir, and they still are!” The Sensor Officer exclaimed.

“What?” Osiaric growled, growing angry with the stocky officer even though it was obviously not his fault. “The ships should have been destroyed! What happened?” Osiaric leaned in close to the display, as it’s operator hastily brought up a new set of readings. An MSE-6 droid skittered past the admiral’s feet, serving only aggravate him more and make him more impatient.

“Realigning the rectenna now, sir...” the officer added actions to his words as his hands fluttered over the controls. “Ah, sir,” he said after a second’s pause. “The Abolisher’s are still working in perfect condition. Although it appears from these readings that what we are now seeing,” the man threw a glance quickly at the main viewport, “is less than half of the original attack force.”

There was a moment’s silence, before Tulok posed the next question. “I thought all communications had been jammed? We’re operating on a tight-band frequency that took our agents days to develop in line with this jamming sequence so that we could co-ordinate our attacks. There is no way that these people were able to find a crack within a matter of minutes.”

“Sir,” Lithium came up behind Tulok and the Admiral, custom datapad in one hand and the other gesturing to the planet. “It’s doubtful that they sent a distress signal. We would have picked it up, for one thing,” and he motioned to the communications station, from where he had just come. “I believe however that this task force were simply making a routine jump in-system. How else could it be explained that they jumped straight into the Abolisher field - destroying half their fleet?”

“It makes sense,” Tulok reasoned, lifting his cap with one hand and stroking back his black hair with the other. At that moment, the sensor officer let out a small cry, bringing the higher-ups back down to the battleground from their speculations.

“Sirs, the enemy fleet is engaging Second Stygian!” Urgency shook his voice.

“I’m assuming these are Iron Fist ships,” Tulok let the question hang as a statement, not wanting to press the officer too hard.

“Uhh,” he turned from facing the three, back to his screen. “A small number of them are, yes,” he confirmed after a minute. “But the majority of the ships are Mon Calamari Republic warships...”

“What are the Iron Fist Empire doing flying with the Mon Cal’s?” Osiaric turned the question on Lithium, but the lieutenant met him with a clue-less gaze.

“Perhaps we should be more concerned not with why they’re here or who they are,” Tulok broke the seal, “but rather with the fact that they have Second Stygian evenly matched and are looking to be overpowering them.” He looked meaningfully from the sensor screen to the battle raging on the other side of the planet.

“Right, right,” Osiaric stepped back into the centre of the bridge, throwing a sideways glare at Tulok that said very plainly Don’t do that again, or it’s your head.

“Comms, send out a message to the Naver, Token, Systematic, Annihilation and the Bombardment, as well as the Interdictors, Abolishers, three of the Carracks and the same number of the Dreadnaughts. They are to hang back by the shipyard and guard it. The rest of the Division: full forward. Engage the enemy capital ships and send out our fighters to meet and neutralise their starfighter resistance. Co-ordinate your attacks and call for help if you need it. Concentrate on the larger ships, and help out Second Stygian if they look like they need it.” The Admiral finished on a blunt edge, leaving his orders for all to hear. The Division had formed up as he was talking, and had begun moving forward before his speech had finished.

The admiral then moved forward to the front of the bridge, looking out at the battle that was beginning on the other side of the planet. It wouldn’t take them long to get there, and when they did, the Iron Fist Empire would wish that they’d never started hostilities toward the New Order at all.

Back in the bridge a way, Tulok and Lithium were standing down in the crew pit next to the communications officer. The captain and his lieutenant were re-organising Admiral Osiaric’s orders, making them more clear and setting out definite parameters for the ships and controlling where and when they were supposed to attack.

A light on the comm officer’s board lit up suddenly, stopping Tulok’s train of thought as he looked at it. The officer followed his gaze shortly after, and, seeing the light, danced his hands across the board until it went off. Tulok’s eyes still played over it though, and the other man made to answer the unspoken question.

“They were trying to send a communiqué to another world, sir. Don’t worry, though,” he said when seeing the look on his captain’s face, “it didn’t get through our communications blackout.” At that Tulok let out a sigh of relief and went back to his work of re-organisation. The TIE Devils and Fire-class Light Frigates had already been deployed ahead of the Division, and were now only moments away from engaging in the fleet battle that now raged.

Tulok was putting the Division into a wedge formation when a call for him and the admiral came from the stocky sensor officer. Lithium hot on his heels, the captain reached the station a few steps behind Osiaric. The small man looked truly terrified now, however, and the reason became all too apparent when he saw what was on the screen.

A Yuzzhan Vong warship.

“Oh, frell...” Lithium exclaimed, coming up behind the captain and his admiral.

“What are they doing?” Osiaric demanded, obviously annoyed and angry that he hadn’t been notified of this sooner.

“Just... waiting there, sir,” was all the officer could say.

“Are...are there any others in the system?” Tulok almost hated to ask, but if the Vong were here...

“None that I can pick up, sir,” the man replied.

“Well then,” Osiaric stood a little higher, “leave them alone, and they might leave us alone. Who knows, they might just be here to watch us duke it out-”

“-And then come in and finish off the winner!” Tulok exclaimed, agitation and a hint of fear showing through his voice. He’d heard stories about the Vong, but he’d never met them in combat before. Oh sure, he’d simmed against them, but this was different. This was real.

“We have far more pressing matters to cast our attention to now, Captain,” Osiaric said with a finality, pointing to the main viewport and what lay beyond.

The Fire Frigates and TIE Devils had reached the battle, and soon, so would the Pandemonium.

“Many thanks for the assistance Captain Tulok,” Tym said into the comm. system.

“You can give me all the thanks later, Jaiprenl,” came the response, “after we win the battle.”

Tym studied the reports for the various ships in his detachment. The Fire-Class Light Cruisers and Carracks were being attacked by much larger ships, but easily out ran with their superior speed ratings. One of the Abolishers was reporting power surges from concussion missile attacks. With a few swift keystrokes, Tym had the Light Cruisers and Carracks redirected to aid the ailing Abolisher. The Attack Sphere had dumped its compliments of fifty-five squadrons of TIE Devils to give the Shadow Droids some trouble. The Devils would have some trouble chipping away at the one-hundred shield base durability rating of the Shadow Droids, but with the arrival of Sentinel fleets one-hundred and sixty-five squadrons, shear volume would prevail.

With the further assistance arriving much of the other ships under attack would be relieved of their burdens. The Judgment’s shields were holding stead under the bombardment from the still, unidentifiable class of Star Destroyer. It left a sour taste in Tym’s mouth when a rogue Imperial group thought it had the right to create a new class of the Star Destroyer. While they tried to form their own identity as a shadow of Palpatine’s glorious Empire, they clung to the Imperial’s tried and true nomenclature of new vessels; the New Order’s nomenclature. The Victories were reporting weakening shield from the constant shower of ION fire from the Mon Cal star cruisers. At worse, they Vic’s would end up disable, but the tech crew would have the drive systems operational by the time Teth had fallen.

Tym stared out upon the raging battle with a calm and clear mind. He had no doubt New Order forces would win the day with relative ease. While the Iron Fist Empire tactics remain with the old Imperial school of thought, and still quiet effective against those who did adapt, Cardia had kept ahead of the changing face of warfare. New offensive and defensive strategies, especially against their own former tactics, would swiftly quell any resistance from a remnant. Armed with these and superior vessels and weaponry, many Imperials would live another day, while Mon Calamarians and rogue Imperials would wish they were still under Imperial rule moments before their deaths.

OOC NOTE: Snowkan, watch the rules when you write. If a ship less than 4 kilometers can't destroy fighters in one post, 48 conc missiles can't possilbly bring down 2,240 SBD's worth of shielding. I did make an admin aware of this, but didn't push for any action against you. Next time, I will fight it.

EDIT: (added HMTL and OOC NOTE)

OOC:I think that in the books they can, nut i won't argue either.
IC:"Sir the enemy has brought in some reinforcements in fighters and larger capital ships. The enemy carrack cruisers and Fire class frigates retreated from under the onslout of our fire, but then came to the abolishers defense. The ships attacking those ships are now firing on all of the targets. I expect that we will have some ships disabled of destroyed soon. I don't think our communications got through to the Mon Calamari Republic or The New Republic. I suggest that we send a fighter to Bimmissaari with the messages and then send the message to The New Republic from there."
"Thank you for the report. Send one TIE Defender to Bimmissaari."
"Yes sir"
The fighters roared off out of thee abolisher field and went into hyperspace. Meanwhile the Shadow Droids were fairing well. They hadn't lost any of their numbers, but had managed to disable two TIE Devil. The "pilots" were superior to any living pilot, except for a Jedi or Sith. They had the ability to touch the dark side and used it to their advantage. They flew as one, easily better then the TIE Devil pilots. The TIE Defenders on the other hand couldn't touch the dark side or light side. They had managed to cripple one TIE DEvil, with the loss of one TIE Defender. Then four TIE Defenders came acroos the two disabled TIE Devils. They quickly used their tractor beams to latch on to them and bring them to the Iron Fist. The Iron Fist was doing quite well. It had more guns to bring over to fire on the Alligience star destroyer. It's shield were a little bit better, and would most likely win this engagement. The only thing bad about the engagement that Grand Admiral Snowkan could see was that his fleet would probably end up losing to the bigger TNO fleet. If they brought in the other fleet on the other side of the planet, the Iron Fist forces would most likely be defeated, unless they coudl get help soon. The victory star destroyers seemed to have their shields holding, but it was only a matter of time. The Assault class carrier was looking bad, as the Corruption Star Destroyer, Serpent's Smile launched a wave of 120 concussion missiles at it.
"Send a message to the Alligiance Star Destroyer. Ask them if some sort of treaty could be worked out."
"sir we have had problems with treatys before. I doubt that a treaty is the solution that we want."
"If we don't have a treaty, then we will most likely die in this engagement. If The New Order had only waited for my or ships to be finished, and planetary defenses to be finished, they wouldn't stand a chance."
"If only sir."
The battle was going kind of good for the Iron Fist forces, but once the enemy fleet came, the Iron Fist forces were toast. Oh well. The Mon Calamari Republic would probably survive, as if Grand Admiral Snowkan was going to make a treaty, then he would send the Mon Calamari forces back to where they came from. The Penetrators shields would soon be falling, as they were being fired on ships at least twice their size. The MC-300s launched a wave of 20 crystal diamon warheads (from each MC-300, equals 100 missiles) towards the enemy fighters. The Iron Fist and Mon Calamari ships, seeing them coming, quickly pulled away from the enemy fighters. Then the missiles exploded. Every fighter in a fifty meter radius for each missile was destroyer. A total of 293 fighters were destroyed in that wave.
"That showed them sir."
"Yes it did, but we still have lots more of the enemy fighters to blow up. Are the Shdaow Droids from the planet in the battle yet?"
"Yes sir. We have lost a total of three Shadow Droids and four TIE Defenders so far. The enemy has lost seven TIE Devils that were not caught in the blast. They were disabled and have been are been brought to the Iron Fist. In total they lost 300 fighters. They also have three crippled TIE Devils still flying."
"Very good, three hundred killed, not bad."
Then suddenly a Penetrator Assault Carrier's shields came down. It was the one that Glory's Shadow and Shadow Defender were firing on. Ion cannon fire raced across the hull, shorting out turbolasers and ion cannons. Then the ships concentrated on the engines.
"Sir the third Penetrator Assualt Carrier's shields have fallen. I expect that it will soon be disabled."
"Finally, the beginning first of many TNO casualties in capital ships."
