Journey Home

[i]The jungle stretched out underneath, unabated from horizon to horizon. The beauty of pristine untouched nature. The D'kee flew through the atmosphere of the great homeworld, still consecrated, still holy. A flock of wild leather winged creatures broke the jungles surface and rapidly retreated into the distance as the lander flew by. In front of them a great spire broke the jungles calm, the capital of all the Imperium. A building so massive some called it a city unto itself, The Cree'n'aak, The Headquarters to be able.

Special made Swarm droids shot out ahead of them, on repulsor lifts instead of ion drives, for show more than anything. Row upon row of them, forming a straight path for the shuttle as it sped over the planet. Slowly approaching its destination, a small landing pad outside the building itself. The core leadership of the Imperium had finnaly returned, to assume its proper place once again.

As final landing sequence was initiated, the swarm droids formed a massive halo above the landing vessel, all show for the populace, a reassurance of power, the might of the Imperium, the might of the Ssi-Ruuvi. A final hiss signified the touch down of the lander. Row upon row of Red scaled Ssi-Ruu lined across the massive feild just before the landing pad, beyond them were the green scales. All left behind during the Chiss attack, all feircely loyal to the Imperium.

As the tremendous doors opened up Blacked scaled Ssi-Ruu march out on either side, securing the hatchway and first few meters of walkway before any pass down. First emerged the oldest of the Council of Elders, respected members of the society, almost as admired as the Shreeftut himself. Next came the surviving members of the conclave, now as important as ever. If the masses were to remain quelled, they must have religion. The message of Ssi over P'w'eck must be held and delivered to the masses for all time, planets to be consecrated, and life to return as it once was.

Lastly and most importantly the Shreeftut and his fellow blue scales emerged...

Walking out with the other bluescales, Th'twirl moves to one side and stops, looking around. It had been years since she had been on the homeworld Lwhekk. Seeing it again makes her feel different.

Th'twirl begins walking again with the other bluescales towards the building that lies ahead. At the doors, she stops again, looking up at the structure in slight amazement.

They walked in pairs, grouped in their small cliches as they marched on the capital. The black scales followed along side the blue scale group, elisiting a hushed awe among the on lookers, black scales were so rare it was amazing to see so many in one concentration, let alone proving their place in society. Beyond the brown scales Shreeftut could just make out the many kilometers of the bowed P'Wecks, so very many of the lowly creatures.

As the other scale groups passed through the gates to the Cree'n'aak, the bluescales stoped at a small risen poduim, made for them to address the peoples immediatly to them. The royals of the remaining Ssi-Ruuvi people. Stepping to the front, the Shreeftut held high a severed head. it was a large blue head, the head of a leader, the head of the last shreeftut, the one that had led them all to war, and had lost.

"My people, great Ssi-Ruuk! I am now your Shreeftut! Your former leader is dead! He led us to an unwinable war that cost the lives and souls of many great Ssi-Ruuvi! He has now paid the price! Our people have since fallen into chaos, into anarchy without us! You see, the cure to anarchy is an iron will! The firm grip of a leader with vision! For the good of the Imperium, Lhwekk must be ressurected!"

Raising a clawed hand in approval, Th'twirl leads all those assembled in a trimuphant, approving howl. She puts her hand down and listens to more of the speech.

Th'twirl looks around at everyone and everything around her. Signs of old life were going out, while signs of new life were coming in. Signs of past battles and wars were now beginning to fade in the background.

She raises her head to the sun, proud now to have a new leader, one that would lead them in a better future, not a bad one. A new future, the most recent sign of new life to the scales gathered here and now.
