The lamba shuttle, why anyone would have it as the transport of choice for thier fleet, Dr Mixenhine would never know.
Nevertheless, the apparantly second-class starship had to do. As long as it got him there he didnt really care. He just hoped the monstrosity of modern engineering wouldn't break apart upon landing.
The agitated Doctor peered up from his seat towards the cockpit.
"Pilot, how long till we reach the planet."
"Not longer Doctor, we're coming out of hyperspace above Lok now." chuckled the pilot.
"Hmmm, now all I can do is pray that you dont crash this wretched vessel into the surface spreading my atoms across the planet."
Hmm, that idea intrigued him, splattering one's atoms. Possibly the idea for his next design.
Enough of this dilly dallying he thought. He was here for a mission, his first actual mission, and here he was thinking that the chiss government hired him to tinker with machines . . . at least there he was in his element. There was something decidedly alien about this whole going on missions thing. It simply didnt sit with the Doctor.
Like a twitching rabbit, he looked through the polyplex window and down onto the round orange orb that was Lok. It cast a humid glow into the cabin, causing the doctor to wince and turn away.
Doctor Floggle reached into his napsack and pulled out a silver tube of sun lotion. Squeezing out a sizeable amount, he applied the cream vigourously to his nose and forehead.
The glancing cabin crew could barely hold back thier giggles as the doctor went from a pale pink to a colour resembling that of the trees of Endor.
He began to fidget with various items from his bag, making sure everything was in perfect working order . . . pens, instruments, a camera, all going through last minute checks so as they wouldnt fail him on the field.
The fidgeting began to grow into a small shiver on his right hand, then into a spasm, his left hand shot over to steady his right, and he cleanched his teeth, putting his hand into his coat as to hide it from the rest of the crew.
He looked nervously back to the window, now noticing that the shuttle had broken through the atmosphere and was heading down to what would become his home for God knows how long . . .

Sample testing program initiated. . .
Bio scan complete . . .
Releasing sample bio matter . . .

Inside the giant plexiglass testing chamber, a small hatch flew back, and out scurried fifty white mice, each one identical to the last.
Bio matter sample released . . .
Releasing Tri-Hexalon biochemical agent . . .
The roof of the chamber opened and like snow on a winters day, the green powder floated down gently and settled onto the mice below, covering them in a blanket of lime, instantly sparking to life, filling the chamber with a luminescent glow.
Floggle pressed his face against the glass, a small droplet of saliva forming at the corner of his grinning lips, and then his gaze was consumed by the energy flash inside the chamber, causing him to stumble back and fall to the floor.

Test complete . . .
Total Biomass conversion confirmed.
The doctor scrambled across the floor and pulled himself up, peering over up to the edge of the glass. . .

Bio matter trace elements . . .zero
Tri Hexalon trace elements . . .zero
Zero bio material remains.
“I did it ,” he siad quietly, “I did it!!! HAHAAAAAHAAAAHAAAA!!! I did it, by God I did it!!.
HA, note to personal log, no trace of the chemical and no trace of the little test subject, initial test, one hundred percent, totally and utterly successful. HAHAA!!!!!

To say she was not pleased was an understatement.
Laran's foul mood was evident on her face -marred with a severly bruised eye and split lip - as she disembarked the transport ship and into the steril Compound. Her normal confident, even stride was interupted with a limp and her right arm was held securely inside a gel splint.
As she moved through the corridors she came across a human technitian and grabbed him by the collar with her working hand. " Where is Floggle?"
With a shaking hand the technitian pointed down the hall. " Th- the Doctor is in Laboraty 3A. D- down the hall and to your right."
Pushing the Human out of her way she stormed - and limped - down the hall to the Lab and without notice to the man inside she entered the lab.
" I am not your errand girl, Floggle!" She closed the distance between them quickly. " Do you have any idea the number of men I lost getting your specimens for you?! 300 Wookies, alive and in good condition."
She was seething with rage pushed him up against the glass of the chamber he stood in front of, holding him there with her hand. " Seven of my agents were torn apart getting you your Wookies. You've got thirty seconds to tell me why I shouldn't take that out of your hide!"

Floggle blurted out a half cackle at the Chiss agent holding him against the glass.
"Well my dear, it would be unfortunate that such a marvelous specimen such as yourself were to, hmm, how shall we say, meet a premature end, if you were to harm me. Think about that next time you feel like grabbing me."
Floggle knew all to well she didn't like his status as a high ranking "outsider", however the Doctor lived in the safe knowledge that her, and people like her were expendable, he was not. Soldiers like her could be bread in an instant . . .literally . . .maybe Floggle would extract a DNA sample at some point . . .
"Now if you'd be kind enough to release me, maybe I can demonstrate the importance of my work, and give you another reason not to kill me?"

Her crimson eyes narrowed and a wolfish grin played across her lips. " Are you threatening me, Doctor?" Laran smoothed out his lab coat, the smile never faltering as she took a step back. Dr. Mixenhine began to relax and as he started to turn she lashed out.
Her fist struck hard and fast, stirking across the side of his face with the back of her hand and driving him to the floor. With her good hand she grabbed the Human around the throat and slammed him against the glass, sending a spiderweb of cracks spreading out from where his head connected.
" It is obvious you do not know who you are addressing," Laran hissed, lifting his feet off the floor. " I do not take lightly to threats. You are fortunate that the Admiral still has use for you, else you would be bleeding from ever orriface of your body."
Satisfied her point had been made, Laran let him fall at her feet. " Do as you please with the Wookies, just do not forget who it is you work for and how percarious your position is Human."

“Killing the lead scientist on this project would, in all probability, NOT help us bring the weapon to completion… Chiss.”
The sound of a repulsorlift came into hearing, and a middle aged man on a repulsorchair came into view. His head was cocked at a strange angle, his eyes burned with a feverish light. He was dressed completely in white, and his chair was painted white, to match.
“Mrs. Nuruodo, I trust you realize this.”
His voice was soft, as if hiding hidden power. He made no move to return his head to a normal, fully straight position. Upon closer examination, Nuruodo realized that a large tri scar stretched from his left ear, down and around to his back. Whoever had given him that scar must have cut some vital muscles, which had not healed properly. The injury did not seem to bother the man however, and he moved as if used to it.
“Mixenhine, a success?”
Mixenhine nodded, and winced. He had a large bruise on his head, from where contact with the plexi had been made.
“Get yourself to the medical staff Mixenhine, I don’t want the lead scientist to get brain damage this late in the game.”
Ignoring both the damaged Mixenhine and the seething Nuruodo, he sent his chair forward to the control panel with a twitch of his wrist, and began to review the records of the experiment. He muttered under his breath as he read, his voice getting more and more excited.
Finally, he spoke aloud. “Results... Something to work with, at last.”

"The results are most encouraging." Said Floggle, wincing through the pain. "I've managed to increase the overall bio matter conversion rate by point nine percent, producing an even more impressive effect than the trade federation had ever managed to produce."
Floggle hobbled over to a desk near the punctured test chamber and fumbled through some buttons on a control panel.
"Ahh found it!." He proclaimed, pressing a switch bringing down a large vidscreen from the ceiling, which began to run the test footage from the earlier experiment.
Both the scientist's eyes filled with fascination as the weapon did its work.
"Marvellous, simply marvellous." Exclaimed Tobal.
"I have order that construction begin on the prototype delivery system right away, then we can begin official field testing.
However, for the time being, the main test is ready."
"You have the wookies?" Enquired Hadul.
Floggle shot a glance to Laran, while rubbing the bruise on his head, then glanced back to Tobal. "Yes, I requested they be moved into the main test chamber as we speak. The final stages should be finished now . . .shall we?" Said the doctor, motioning towards the lab door.
"Lead the way Mixenhine," Said the wheelchair-bound scientist, "lead the way."
The doctor strode one, with Tobal in tow, and cocked a sneer at Laran, which merged into a painful wince from a piece of plexiglass that had scarred his upper lip.
Bide your time Mixenhine, she can wait for hers, and believe me, she'll get it . . .get it good. . .

The chair he was dependent upon sped him behind Mixenhine, who seemed fine, and not in need of medical attention. Hadul made a mental note to make sure Mixenine got a look over though; wouldn’t do to have him get some sort of illness during this critical stage of the project.
It didn’t take long to get to their destination. The room was large, and the two scientists stopped in the middle. Unlike most rooms in the lab which were both long and tall, this room was long and narrow. Beneath them was as force field, keeping the scientists from joining the large group of wookes in a holding chamber.
“Ready when you are Mixenhine”

The main test room lit up, in a brilliant white, flooding the room.
In the centre stood a long cylindrical shaft, approximately a foot in diameter, which descended from the roof, down through the plate glass below into the test chamber holding the wookies.
Floggle turned to Tobal and spoke.
"Everything appears ready, I'm commencing with the live feed to Mr Xilen's office." He said, turning to pass Laran. "At least there's one chiss that can see the importance of this project." he muttered, just out of earshot.
"Are we live?"
A crewman nodded in return.
"Good, activate the test cycle."
A siren activated in the chamber below, and an orange beacon flashed on and off, causing the three hundred strong crowd of wookies to become quite agitated.
A whiring could be heard, and slowly but surely a glowing element dropped down inside the centre shaft and into the test chamber below.
"Goggles please."
The small vile of green dust cracked onto the floor and spilled out, and quickly started to fizzle, then glow, then it exploded into a bright lime shockwave that consumed the chamber below.
Then it was gone.
"You can remove you're goggles now. "
As the patron's surrounding the cheerful Doctor Mixenhine removed thier protective eyewear, they gazed into the test chamber in amazement.
The chamber was now empty, not a single wookie hair had been left.
A small round of appluase went up from the staff around, as Floggle turned to one of the camera's mounted on the wall.
"I present to you, the mark two Chiss Hex chemical weapon."

Hadul’s left eyebrow rose as he viewed the results of the demonstration. Nothing was visible to the naked eye, or to the bioscanner. While the arrogant Mixenhine flaunted his progress to a wall mounted camera, and basked in the light applause, Hadul motored his way over to another computer terminal and began to run cross checks. His department had been waiting on the actual warhead component to be completed – if everything checked out correctly here perhaps work could begin on the actual weapon.
“Checks with a tri-bioscan, molecular scan, dna scan, heat scan…” Hadul muttered to himself as he worked. He could hear Mixenhine giving some long-winded speech about how this weapon would take the Chiss to the top, how the galaxy would fall before the mere mention of their name. No doubt the blathering fool had pre-planned the whole thing before work had even started on the weapon.
“thri cross scan, Gre scan, standard radio scan… wait a minute…” Something had shown up. The Gre scan was off the scale, Gre particles spread all over the test room. Hadul didn’t bother to call the cavorting Mixenhine, he just messaged his lab to start tests on what could be done with off the scale Gre particles. Perhaps it can be used to advantage… Hadul turned his unnaturally off position head slightly as he continued to examine the rest of the advanced deep scan results. This weapon, coupled with the Nemesis warhead… He left that thought unfinished as he continued to work.
