Breath...

...I tried to force myself to breath, but the oxygen never found its way to reach me. I could not see beyond what my eyes were forcing me to see. Nothing. Just darkness.

Let me go..

Eventually the darkness subsided from me and I felt a heavy mass leave me; but I still had yet to take breath.

What is.. happening..

I could not shake the resounding emotions that had suddenly taken to come over me. So vibrant and so strong. Disappointment reached me when I felt the wave of emotion suddenly leave me. I was left to feel empty.. but not until I was made to breath again.

I gasped, taking in a gigantic breath. Taking in the air, it was as if I were learning to breath for the first time.

I took in another gigantic breath, my whole body buckling in the process.

I called out one solitary name. I gasped his name.

"Jensen!"

I had awoken from a nightmare. It was a nightmare that had left me in complete darkness. I had been alone.

Though I had awoken from my nightmare; my mind and spirit had not. My eyes would not allow me to see the man that lie so peacefully beside my helpless form.

He stirred from his sleep; he must have heard my cry. Still, my eyes would not let me see. I could not feel him then.

".. I need you," I said as I reached out to touch him, finally coming to feel his arms embrace me.

Jensen had been sleeping quietly, when a familiar voice called out to him, awaking him.

He awoke groggily staring into the darkness of the room as he turned toward Amalia; he tried to shake the sleepiness off but not before setting his attention towards her direction.

"I'm here...." He said in a drowsy manner.

His arms gently embraced her letting the lady know he was there. That she was safe...

"I'm here...what's wrong?" He said with concern now in his voice.

A moment of hesitation presented itself as Amalia tried to allow her brown eyes to focus on her surroundings.

"I.. I had a bad dream, that's all."

Her brown eyes slowly yet somewhat peacefully, fell to meet Jensen's gaze, a look of small regret settling upon her face.

"I'm sorry, I did not mean to wake you."

She had been having the same exact dream rather frequently as of late, but never once had she found herself asking for comfort.

Adjusting her view once more, Amalia looked past Jensen toward the window. It was approaching morning outside.

"It's early morning.."

"Oh don't worry, it's quite alright." Jensen said thoughtfully.

It had taken long for Amalia to notice, the subtle sunlight of the early morning making it through the window.

He smiled..

"Yes, it is, still quite early though."

A thoughtful yet somewhat troubled expression crossed his brow, through the dimness he observed Amalia the best he could, quite troubled with her dream.

"Do you want to talk about it, the dream I mean?"

Amalia never did have much strength in opening up, especially with people she did not know. The woman was secluded, not to mention headstrong.

She seemed to like the way that Jensen approached her with concerns. He wasn't too bold nor brash when getting her to open up, just gentle. He was patient.

Perhaps it was that very part of his essence that made her warm up to him so easily, she was not quite sure.

"There isn't much to tell. I've been having the same reoccurring dream for the past week. It starts and ends always in the exact same way. I dream I am back home, surrounded by the people I love and care for. We're all in the forest, relaxing and having a good time. We're celebrating, celebrating what, I do not know. One by one, people begin to leave, until eventually, I'm left all alone within the forest. Then my dream ends just as I am surrounded by darkness."

The room slowly started to brighten as Amalia spoke of and Jensen listened.

"I see..." He said, his fingers found there way to push back some of her hair so that he could better see her, a light warm smile seemed to grace his lips as he thought about her. But it had also been mixed with worry.

The lady was quite special; she always seemed to have a warm presence about her. And to Jensen, maybe that's why the darkness could never take her fully. Nevertheless, the dream was troubling to the young man, and he did what he could to reassure her.

"Well...just know I would never leave you such a way. You always, have my support...always. I always want to see you safe."

He smiled, as he spoke quietly trying his best to relieve Amalia's mind.
