"Master X'Cannoth..."
A man stood at the hanger, his green eyes clandestinely looking upon the young man that Master X'Cannoth had brought with him.
The young man held great power within him, more power than Joel could ever imagine. Already he despised the young man and he knew nothing about him.
Joel had always been given focused attention, anything that he had ever desired, he got. That included Master X'Cannoth's teachings. He was as eager a student as a Master could find, wanting to learn everything and anything he could about the darkside.
His quest was still by far not completely fulfilled; and such would never be. However, Joel was too stubborn to believe in such a truth, believing that someday he would know everything. He would be powerful.
Already he assumed that the young man would get in his way, a sure feeling.... That Master X'Cannoth would teach the man over him and that Joel would be left to learn on his own, without a guide, without a mentor.
He thought of all this, imagined all this as he looked onto the boy, seemingly not noticing that he had not finished uttering the words that had failed to escape him.... Not until he was made to come back to reality once more.
His green eyes falling to look upon his feet as he realized that he had made his master wait on him.
"...We should leave as soon as possible, Master. They are coming."
