Operation Fiduciary Benefits

A planet in the Colonies region...
“… and with that information we are lead to believe that any outside influence is simply coincidental. As such this should be a simply subjugation, as I am sure your Jutraalian past is quite used to.”
It was not the jibe that made Blackblade pay attention, but rather the conclusions they had made from their intelligence.
They are accurate enough to identify Edipus Tagge as too weak to have had realistically assumed control himself, and yet fail to connect this with outside influence? Meh.
“Such a big fleet belies otherwise…” The human smirked, sending the other man a sly look. He was met with stone.
“We do not believe in doing things by halves.”
And despite the fact the briefing continue for hours, it was all the answer he was going to get.
The rapid transformation from sky to space did little to snap the Admiral for hire for his reverie as his shuttle approached the marshalling fleet. But while his thoughts had up til now been based entirely on the task at hand, they now drifted to more casual matters.
I wonder if there will be any ironic link between this Edipus and the Oedipus from folklore?
He chuckled at that thought, although was genuinely repulsed.
“Care to share sir?”
Although Dakkon could not see the owner of the voice, its thick Slavic accents indicated all.
“No, it was quite an inconsequential thought Dmitri.”
Commodore Kashlinkov appeared now in the Shadow Jedi’s vision, smiling and nodding.
“Excuse me for sounding like a kisser of assess, but very rarely does an inconsequential thought pass through your black box of a mind. Sir.”
They both chuckled at that, although Dakkon more so at his adjutants consistent refusal to call him anything but sir, despite their decades of partnership. And just as he thought that, his mind dragged his mirth back on topic.
“Is the fleet ready?”
Dmitri nodded.
“We are ready to move to the RZ as soon as we board. We should be on station within the week.”
Tapesi
“Fleet reversion, we have comms.”
From ‘the pit’ came dozens of other calls.
“Weapons charging”
“All tubes filled and ready!”
“First fighter squadrons launching!”
“Droid central command reporting 100%”
“Frigates moving into picket formation, convex to planet.”
In his minds eye he could sense the urgency as thousands of minds rushed to do their bit. As he concentrated more he began to sense their intentions, their plans and hopes. His mind swam painfully.
With a grimace he shut them out, his head still buzzing for minutes afterwards.
“All fighters are launched, fleet is in formation.”
“Sheilds back up!”
Dakkon nodded, pausing momentarily before speaking.
“Begin broadcasting our IFF, showing us as friendlies of each other, nothing more.”
He paused again.
“Have we had any word from the planet yet?”
His CommOff shook his head.
“No doubt they are currently shitting their designer made underwear. I mean honestly, how do you respond to something like our fleet?”
Dmitri interjected.
“With a better one?”
Dakkon shot him a ‘smartass’ look.
“Well, lets solve their tongue-tied issues, open a channel.”
Composing himself, he nodded when ready.
“Tepasi Port Authority, this is Rogue Imperial Fleet Abyss. Following conviction in absentia by the Rogue Imperial Military courts for financial and civil crimes against the Empire, we have arrived to seize all assets belonging to TaggeCo and its associated subsiaries.
Please power down all defensive positions in preparation for the arrival of our delegation and we shall do the same. We await your response.”
Nodding once more, the transmission was terminated.
“Orders sir?”
It was Dmitri. He knew that applying as much pressure as possible as key at this point.
“Engines to 6 MGLT, approach the planet. Full space and surface scans, I want to know it they so much as fiddle with the computers on their planetary defences. And task our Surveyors to watch for those Arakyd Type-C’s, the moment they are active I want combat runs tasked.”
A operatic chorus of ‘Aye Sirs’ was followed by a less than melodic relaying of orders.
The Abyss Fleet was active again.
